I started Fasting August 2017 I eat twice a day. I do it to control my diabetes. I used to be 289 pounds, I am now 170 lbs 57 years old and I ride MTB Everyday. I take no medication and I did it all Natural. I have tried OMAD for 1 year but 2 meals i find works best for me, Lunch and Dinner only no snacking.
Hey Tommy, ran across your channel and really enjoy your content..... like how you put an emphasis on health in your mtb channel. Something that is somewhat lacking in other MTB RU-vidr's channels. Keep up the great work. You have a new subscriber.
Just1 Omega thanks brotha I appreciate it. Fasting has changed my life and I feel obligated to share it with as many people as I can especially those with type 2 diabetes eating pills and taking insulin shots all day long
leonardoolivar no I have talked about fasting in a few of my videos. I have actually made a few videos specifically about fasting and eating one meal a day
Scot Semmens definitely not. The only time I ever have energy drink is with vodka (GoJuice) at 2pm when I'm riding Snow Summit. I drink 1 cup of green tea every morning. Other than that all I drink is water.
K L yeah my boys go every year, it's really hard for me to take a long trip because I own a restaurant. I am hoping things will settle down so I can go to Whistler next year. However I do plan to do a 1 day trip to Mammoth this season
Hey Tommy, what do you drink when your intermittent Fasting or before and when your riding also after riding your Mountain Bike... And do you take supplements?
Jerick, I drink 1 table spoon of apple cider vinegar with 20 oz of water every morning as soon as I wake up. A couple hours later I have green tea. You can also drink black coffee (without cream or sugar). You cant drink anything else besides water or else it will break your fast. I used to take tons of supplements, since I started fasting 1 year ago, I stopped taking all supplements.
Jerick Hunter I have made a few videos about Intermittent Fasting and eating One Meal A Day, one of the videos I talk about working out and the myths about losing strength and muscle. I will be posting a video this week with pictures of my progression over the past 12 months
Good job on the weight loss, are you selective on what you eat? Ive been doing Keto for 5 months, down 25 lbs. And had to readjust the fork and shock a few times. 👍
S T I'm not on any specific diet, I actually eat what I want but the reality is my body craves healthy foods now. I cut off all processed carbs and sugar. I also no longer eat bread, pasta, rice noodles etc. I eat about 80% veggies, 20% meat. I own a Vietnamese restaurant so I eat 2 bowls of pho and a salad every single day for my one and only meal. Congrats on your weight loss that's awesome. I also had to adjust my fork and shock when I first lost all the weight. I actually lost 30 pounds in the first 2 months and I have kept it off for 10 months now.
Tommy Huynh Im Japanese and the hardest food to give up was rice, ill incorporate it on a cheat day once i hit my goal. Your trails look fun, kind of flowy like here in San Diego.
S T yeah I'm Vietnamese and I own a Vietnamese restaurant so i ate rice and noodles my whole life, it was hard giving it up at first but now since I don't eat anymore I never crave it. Every once in a while I will have a little bit of rice and I don't even like it anymore. I substitute sliced cabbage in my pho instead of noodles, it taste way better and obviously much healthier.
Yeah it's really stupid what's happening at Aliso. I don't ride there much anymore but when I do I just stick to the legal trails. Hopefully things will change
What the hell is up with a trail being 'illegal' in the first place? I've never heard of such a thing . Do they give any reason for why it's illegal? Just dumb. I don't think I would have stopped .
Geoff Koop I wear Source Hipster and I also have a Camel Pak Palos. The Hipster is way better, doesn't move on my hips, the Palos belt always comes loose during the ride. Both the Hipster and Palos have a 4 litter bladder. My buddy Larry has a Bontrager fanny Pak which has a hole for the water bottle.
Geoff Koop fanny packs are so much better than back packs because the weight is on your hips vs shoulders. Before there were fanny packs with bladders I made my own with my paintball pod pack and carried 2 water bottles.
Those guys got our group a couple weekends ago. Posted up the same way, by Kindergarten. Congrats on keeping the weight off. I'm down 10lbs to 150 and feel so much faster on the bike due to it.
Sisukas, yeah my buddies have warned me a few weeks ago that the Rangers are out giving tickets, I guess it was just a matter of time. Congrats on the weight loss!
Hugo Vela I own a Vietnamese restaurant so I eat 2 big bowls of pho with cabbage (no noodles) and then I have a giant salad with lemon grass pork and avocado
my restaurant is in Yorba Linda, heres the link to our Yelp page, www.yelp.com/biz/monarch-9-caf%C3%A9-yorba-linda-2 if youre ever in the area stop by we make traditional Vietnamese food that is healthy, never use artificial flavors or MSG
Damn !!! But having a good ride without falls beats a ticket anyday Tommy "Bolo" !! Hey congrats on maintaining your weight man ! I'm jealous... Cheers from knotts BF
hahahaha yup for sure, still had an amazing day. After the big ride, I actually went to the beach with my wife and daughter and skateboarded to and from dinner, my legs are jello today.
They stopped us at the bottom of kindergarten a couple weeks ago..it was on a Sunday, which seems the day that their doing their crackdown..luckily we were able to talk our way outta the ticket
Kasey Marshall yeah I have talked to a few rangers before this was the first time I got a ticket. It seems like the new rangers are out writing tickets
I do thos trails around there and when I see how fast he goes just in case to all the people that have never rode that it is so steep and sktchy and he zooms through i am watching this terrified
Enjoy your videos, but I’m starting to think posting videos of illegal trails really starts putting us at risk of becoming Marin County. Was listening to a MTB radio podcast (think it was JRA) not to long ago and they put to question the vlogs of youtubers posting illegal trails. Worth a listen. Believe the RADs got it right, stay on the downlow. Ride safe.
Jeremy C thank you, yeah I heard it's getting really stupid right now. I definitely don't want to make it any worse. Some people recommend me not to post names of illegal trails any more.
Man I know that video never does it justice for what it looks like in person and that stuff looked sketchy. Maybe the next time I visit my brother I will have to go check these trails out. Push the limits of my Pivot 429.
Steve Pessy yeah the camera never captures how steep and gnarly trails are. You should definitely hit these trails, Laguna Canyons and Aliso are super fun.
Last time I went to aliso, some guy who claimed to be a ranger tried to put a damn tracker on me. Hahaha! Ever since that, I ain't going back there any time soon.
Tommy Huynh almost all the gnarly trails in the park are illegal. It's ridiculous that the park considers like 95% of trails illegal even when they were cut before the organization took over the land.
Almost every trail that isn’t super easy is Illegal. 4 of the ones you did aren’t, but they only ticket at the super trafficked/easy to corner you ones. TNA is legal, but after you turn off to Art Skool, it isn’t. Pretty lame. Worries me what they’ll do if they start to get more aggressive.
If there is no sign and if there is a trail it should not be illegal to ride it, because you can't know it's illegal, this is silly, if it's illegal, they should just plant plants here and restore it then, silly. There are plenty of legal trails that are not on the map probably, at least in norway that's the case, not all paces got maps at location. In my local are there Re plenty 9f natural trials, and I can ride them all no park rangers, there is no national park where I live. But no need to build new trails, so I am pretty satesfied. Only map in my area is the ski rote map near the city cente, which is inaccurate and many Single tracks, but the law here allows me to ride evry were there is a trail unless land owner puts up a sign.
Phil Ward yeah that's my thoughts exactly. Most of the Rangers out there are super cool, especially all the ones that have been there for years. I always say what's up. Unfortunately there was a fire last month and since then there have been tons of new Rangers and the new guys are the ones who want to start cracking down.
Calories in calories out it takes a lot of discipline to keep your weight down I’ve been exercising for 35 years but eating correctly is even more difficult oh dairy no deep-fried fat foods very little sauces higher protein diet with fresh fruit and vegetables stay away from alcohol
The rangers also have e-bikes. A ranger rolled up on an e-bike to a friend of mine last month at the top of repo. Also, saw a ranger ripping through the lower fire road on an e-bike. Also, E-bikes are technically not allowed in OC Parks.
@@TommyHuynh hmu i'll build u a 8000 watt ebike that can outrun any ranger...haha jk I think a $50 ticket is nothing compared to what the ranger might do to u if they caught you
Can't say we all didn't see this coming. Channels like yours have been constantly posting videos of illegal trails in Laguna and AW. So awesome, thanks for helping to ruin the best riding in OC
Boris Badenov you obviously don't understand why Rangers are cracking down. After the fires more Rangers are stationed in Aliso, the new rangers are the ones cracking down. All the old guys didn't care so long as you were responsible. But go ahead and blame it on RU-vid.
Boris Badenov I am taking responsibility, Im paying for my ticket and I'm posting the video to warm all the riders out there. But if you get a ticket you will blame it on me or other RU-vidrs instead of talking responsibility for making the decision to ride it.
I am not blaming you for me getting tickets, If I ride on an illegal trail thats on me. Always has been. My problem with all of these channels (not just yours) is you guys name all the trails. You never once tell people you're riding illegal trails. You and other RU-vidrs present them as named rides. So with enough people riding in forbidden areas the OC rangers are forced to enforce the law. Why can't you film without letting the whole world know the name of the trail. Clearly this channel exists just to stroke your ego, that can still be acomplished by not letting people know where you're riding.
The rangers are not enforcing it because too many people are riding these trails. The reason is after the fire last month the state put more rangers at Aliso, the new rangers are enforcing, the old rangers never did. I know this because I speak to the old rangers all the time, they even warned me to stay away from Birthdays because the new rangers are cracking down (that's why I haven't ridden there after the fire). As far as stroking my ego, you obviously don't know me, I post my crashes, I don't edit my vids to make myself seem better than what I am. I never show the entry to the illegal trails so I am not sure why putting the name or not makes any difference. but I do see your point with people who may want to ride them so I wont post the trail names anymore. At the end of the day we are both mountain bikers and these trails should not be illegal, you and I both know that if the ranger saw hikers on them they would not give them a ticket. Theres no need to fight with each other, I think we need to fight the system because its b.s.
If I were you I would have said I was an illegal and rode my bike into the country. The officer would have no choice but to let you go for fear of being accused of a nazi or racist because he ticked an illegal on a bike.😂
If it is not on the map, it is illegal. Simple as that. Aliso Woods is not a mountainbike park, but a wilderness park. It is not just about you and your bike
OCrider OCrider I am selfish because I like to mountain bike? Get over yourself you troll. I got the ticket so what do you care? Do I hurt the environment by riding these "illegal trails"?
Tommy Huynh yes you it does hurt. And otherwise we dont want the whole park being closed for bikes either if it continues like this. Then nobody can bike. Just try the legal trails please.
