I prefer Gumbo... "Étouffée" makes me feel strange because it is French and the meaning of the word is quite negative. Unless Mr. Tarantula Kat is talking about cooking? 😅 I suggest "Blue" as in his claws 🖤

My partners gma (81) does not understand my love for these creatures but your videos have made my hobby fun for her. As someone who grew up catching crawdads, pinches never hurt. It was just a pinch. I just googled it and some people were saying they can break skin, so I guess it depends!

Aww. I miss my crawfish. I raised mine from a little tiny baby. He lived for a long time and died of old age. He got huge. His name was big red and his gf was named Lacey. I hope your 'lobster' warms up to you. Mine use to love attention

You'll prob need a bigger tank for that crayfish. They'll get bigger and they need a lot of walking space. I keep one. They will eat live plants. Also, when they pinch you it won't draw blood but it does hurt

Hi I have a question. I have a pair of Regal jumping spiders and I have never paired them. But today I woke up to seeing my "male" jumping spider had laid an egg sack, and now I have over 40 spiderlings...is it possible for a male to lay egg? Or was it sexed wrong?

Hi Kat!! I'm happy you have a pet crawdad!! Just a little trivia, they have to come out of the water sometimes. It re-hardens their shells. If you don't let him come out, he will die 😞That's why mine died. His name was Sebastian after the Little Mermaid character. Also, he will eat just about anything he can get a hold of. Mine loved bacon, yes, I gave him raw bacon. Try a piece of dog food and he will probably eat that up too. They all have different personalities as with tarantulas. Also, you can place your hands behind his head and he won't be able to pinch you. They are fantastic cleaners for fish tanks and fun to watch. If you put him in with fish, he will eat them if he can catch them, so watch out!!! Enjoy!!!!!! 🙂

The new crayfish is so cute!! I would maybe lower the water a level a bit and put a log or rock in that sits above the surface so he can get out of the water once in awhile. I had pet crabs once and didn't realize they needed to come out of the water occasionally, so every time they crawled up to the top I would tap them back into the water. Obviously they didn't last very long and I felt SO BAD when I found out why!😳

Hi, Now that you have a ”grumpy” crayfish, 😉, I thought that you may be interested by Brady Brandwood channel (same name). About a year ago he bought a lobster from a grocery store to give him a second chance, he named him Leon. I found his channel completely by accident and I never thought that seeing a lobster thriving in a huge aquarium would be so fun to watch. Those critters are really smart. Voilà, voilà ! It’s always a pleasure to watch your videos. 🙂

I once had a boring brown crawfish that after a molt turned a beautiful baby blue. I still don't know how it happened. She ended up escaping into my box turtle enclosure and became lunch, I was devastated.

I've been watching you for a while now. And let me tell you, that in itself is a feat. I never had a huge fear of spiders until I was 8 months pregnant with my son, and our friend got drunk on his birthday. His present was a beautiful rose hair. Where it went south, was he pinned me in a corner trying to get me to hold her. I broke down, and had a panic attack that landed me in the hospital. Afterwards, the word spider would throw me into a fit. But I slowly started watching around the same time I started watching Ants Canada. I would start with just a few minutes. Now, I can watch multiple videos of yours, and appreciate your babies for their beauty. Thank you for helping me reclaim my love of gorgeous critters!

Definitely keep the tank lid on with no gaps for Mr. Yabbie because they can "swim" to the top of the tank and pull themselves out, speaking from experience we have had a couple decide to go for a walk about, lucky they make alot of noise on titles so easy to find The yabbie and tank itself is beautiful

Okay so hear me out, maybe the Crawfish should be called Prince Naveen. Naveen gets turned into a frog by evil voodoo. However, Tiana in the Disney Movie The Princess And The Frog does not eat Naveen. Tiana would eat/prepare New Orleans meals like a crawfish boil. Étouffée is morbid but funny. So let's think about more water dwelling creatures. Crayfish are freshwater crustaceans belonging to the clade Astacidea, which also contains lobsters. What about Sebastian from the Ariel movies? Sebastian is a major character in Disney 's 1989 animated feature film, The Little Mermaid. He is a red, Jamaican-accented crab who serves as King Triton 's advisor and "distinguished" court composer. Your crayfish is the new occupant in your tank, he is a seasoned member compared to anyone in the tank you add so wouldn't he serve as an advisor to them? Sebastian also narrowly avoids getting prepared as a meal in the movie.

I used to keep crayfish and some are awesome. My one Clauss was friendly over time, I could hold him and let other people pet him. He got to be about 7-8 inches and lived 6 years. He loved eating cherry tomatoes and shrimp pellets. I had a large rock he could walk through but also get on top of so he can get partly out of the water if he wanted to.
