Former textile studies student here. I’m sure they gave you a health and safety session but please please please put your hair up when working with the machine, and get a pair of safety goggles (the needles can break when in action, you don’t want to get them in your eyes). Freak accidents do happen but they can be prevented in a lot of cases💜

44:18 So I used to be an industrial embroiderer for 8 years. Here’s a few tips for you! Now that you think your bobbin tension is correct but your still getting a few white bits show through on the black. Just use a sharpie to black them out. We did it all the time. The reason your needles are unthreading is because the tail of the thread is to long. On the front of the machine there’s a long spring looking thing that is about as wide as where all the needles are. This is for your thread tails to be put into after you threaded the needle. Some reasons on why your pumpkin didn’t line up correctly. Can be a few different things. -Could be digitised poorly. -fabric could of stretched while being stitched. This is the most common. So by looking at it it seems to me that the orange stitched from bottom to top. This can stretch it out of alignment. We used to change the way it would stitch. So make it go from the bottom still but stop in the middle. Then do a running stitch to the top and go from there back down to meet in the middle. This should help a lot. 😊

also for false bobbins check presser foot, 2 clicks up from bottom. I also hate those gold needles I feel like they're more for hats. Since you're doing knit garments you want 75/11 or 65/9 ballpoint needles

Yay!!! Embroidery vlog is here. Blessed with a long vlog this week. I was at both streams this week (tapped out halfway through Fall Guys as the call of sleep arrived). I forgot how fun your streams are so it is nice that you are back to streaming. I am so proud of you for reaching the stage where you can expand your retail to embroidery - super excited to see the designs you make and I hope I can grab a few when they go up for order. I hope you are able to sort what happened with your thread order - that is wild. The brand does have a UK website but you need a business account to see prices so no idea if it would be cheaper or even possible to import to Canada. The colours you picked are going to look super cute with the strawberry design. I didn't expect such as high-tec machine. You must have left a good impression on them if they gave you a lot of extras. It is good you don't need to use the fancy matt thread for practise. Super entertaining vlog as always.

The shipping yes, import fees are up to the buyer to pay, most companies will specify this in ts and cs (and you should know this when buying from your state / country), however declared wrong the fee could of been upcharged so they'd need to look into that and refund accordingly.

You can get tear away stabalizer that just rips away, its what we use most, but you can also get water soluble stablizer if you have a very intricate design like lace or something.
@nilawarriorprincess
@nilawarriorprincess Год назад
Yeah, I came here to comment the same thing about water soluable stabilizer. It seems like it could save time to put a batch of sweat shirts in the washer instead of cutting them 1 by 1. Plus the consumer wouldn't have to deal with fading or shrinking after washing it the 1st time. Just be sure you use a detergent & fabric softener for sensitive skin to prevent any allergies.
@phonesallbroken
@phonesallbroken Год назад
@@nilawarriorprincess WSS is generally nowhere near stable enough for anything with any stretch. For stuff like Baylee is doing, tear away would be bad also imo, because each needle penetration will weaken the tear away and cause it to lose stability. Two sheets of 2.5oz-3oz cutaway is good for what she's doing, although I know some people use no show through mesh (mainly for tshirts though).

Suggestion, Tear away backing, which would make removal easier and faster. send your digitizing outsourced, which takes approx 24 hours for a turnaround for most artwork. They send you all formats and a pdf of the sew-out. We have a great digitizer and I think he is in Canada. Always do a sew-out first, to make sure digitizing is correct. Keep sharpie or fabric markers to fill in the bobbin that shows on the top stitches.

It takes so much trial and error at the beginning with embroidery! I only have experience with a home embroidery machine, so things may vary when it comes to an industrial machine, but to me, the bobbin pulling through and the incident with the bobbin case being pulled out would lead me to believe it's an issue with the top tension, not the bobbin. General rule of thumb in embroidery groups I'm in is that a problem with the top stitching means it's a bobbin issue, and a problem with the bobbin thread means it's a top thread issue, if that makes sense. Of course there are probably plenty of times where this isn't the case, and all machines have their own little quirks! For what you're embroidering, on stretch fabrics like jumpers, I personally would go for two sheets of 2.5oz-3oz cutaway stabiliser. It looked like your fabric was getting really pulled about by the design so extra stabilisation might help. Good luck though!! I can't wait to see what you make, and I hope things go relatively smoothly with your new machine!
