I got an internship in New York’s garment district upcycling old, deadstock scarves into dresses and jackets - and that is what I spend RISD’s pseudo-semester, a six week period between the fall and the spring, dubbed “wintersession” doing. Lots and lots of sewing, working with silk, patternmaking, shopping at mood fabrics and all round just living my Miranda Priestly ‘Devil Wears Prada’ fantasy in my 2 month fashion internship in new york city.
