I work in Marin and an often on Lucas Valley Road, it’s been a life long dream to visit ILM and Lucas Ranch. It’s ironic because I work in the area and have worked by the old studio warehouses on Kerner, and I have had family and friends that have ended up on Lucas Ranch (with a friend who worked at ILM until disney purchased them). In fact, I was supposed to go do a tour at a Skywalker Ranch but I was curating a gallery show in SF and missed out. Hopefully one day I can make it lol
Man, I didn’t know at the beginning, but I NEEDED to hear this story. Absolutely inspiring. You realized your dream and went all in without letting fear of failure stop you. That’s most definitely a Jedi move.
Great story that...and I’d watched your Kenner Star Wars figures video first thinking that’s a nice collection in his spare room or something, then I saw this and your room tour video and like ...flippin heck it’s massive! You love Star Wars more a lot than I thought...even sneaking onto Skywalker ranch..talk about devotion!
Wow...incredible story. Never give up!. An ex work colleague's husband here in Sydney was going to make a kids adventure film and somehow had Gary Kurtz become his producer for the film, even though Gary lived in London. When he went to see Gary, I ask his Wife if I could get a poster signed from Gary. I ended up getting it signed and I didn't want to push my luck by asking for pictures of Gary signing my poster, but he got pictures for me without asking. I treasure this poster and met Carrie Fisher later on and her autograph is on it along w/ Gary.
Greetings from Washington State! This story was awesome! Thank you so much for sharing! Subscribed and look forward to watching more of your future content! 😇
Some of the best moments of my life are when you just take a chance in the moment. You know the odds are stacked against you, but still, there's that glimmer of hope in you. Enjoyed the story very much!
I honestly didn't think I would, but I ended up sitting and watching/listening to this entire clip. Fantastic story and a true testament to life's funny ways of showing you direction even when you feel you're (excuse the pun) handcuffed. Thoroughly enjoyed this story, thank you for sharing. Just a bit of constructive feedback - have you considered using a wirless mic for these clips? Bit too much muffled audio due to room acoustics etc. Otherwise, please keep sharing your growing collection!
Loved it brother!! Kept me on the edge the whole time!! Your story is inspirational just like your passion for Star Wars!! Looking forward to what’s coming next!
Wow. Just Wow. My sister used to live in San Rafael. Never got a chance to get on the Ranch, too chicken, but man I woulda loved it. StarWars was my life back in the day. I wanted to do film to and got close by working in video production for over a decade shooting, editing and doing art. What a great story and you are a hero for going back and trying so many times. Can't wait to see more of your videos.
What an awesome experience! Like you, Star Wars shaped my career path as well. I followed my dream of one day working in the entertainment industry and landed a job as a Model Maker working for Kenner Toys and then Hasbro making Star Wars and other child favorites. That's an experience I'll always cherish for the rest of my life. I say Never Grow Up and be a Kid at Heart! and Yes, I'm 55 and still a Star wars fan! Thank you for the inspiration and this account of your journey!
Wow that's awesome! Thank you for taking time to watch

Man! It is people like you who inspire to keep going and fight harder every day in this galaxy not too far away. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👍🏼Thank you for sharing this awesome adventure! ...your collection is truly amazing! ✌🏼😎
Evening, Just watched this video and subscribed to your channel. It’s a great story and a beautiful collection. I’m a small time UK collector and I’m in complete awe of your museum. Your Skywalker ranch story is entertaining and a true testament to your love for Star Wars. All the best to you! Chris.
This video made me cry. I live in the SF area and have never tried to go there! I did see George Lucas at a Giants game once but would have never tried to talk to him!! Bravo for you!!!! Takes gutts!
Hey Kendall, yeah I was talking to Andie G from Star Wars Show at celebration and all of a sudden she and all the crew jumped up and I was right in front of the stage talking and she put her headset on and introduced George and Harrison. I was like its me lol. I honestly didn't even care about Harrison but was like damn. It recorded on video now. To be clear, lol I'm seriously not a stalker but damn. I actually have met Spielberg and many actors. I'm respectful around them. Thanks for the nice words.
@@star.killer77-27 thats so cool!! i work at thr ritz in sf for 29 years i delivered Harrison Fords laundry to his room and he answered himself!! he was cool. i got to look right in his eyes and hand him his clothes so we were close. ill never forget it. we are never allowed to ask for autographs and i never have!
Hey Randy, thank you for kind words. I give you a shout out for sure. Grateful to have some of your personal built pieces in my collection. Lets catch up soon. I have sent you a ton of referral's
Great story mate - You didn't go in, but you impacted on the surface! You must have bantha balls to do that - Salute to you brother. Star Wars makes us all do crazy things! 🤝
God bless you, Sir!! You at least had the tenacity to do this and came out the better for it. Now you are a legend - whether or not you want to be! I've heard about this story when it happened in the news. It's too bad that I had to wait 30 YEARS to find out the other half of the story. Very entertaining and amusing. I laughed a few times as this was touching. Very humbling as well. Thank you again for your time and for your story. Most people don't have the humility that you do to share such a story no matter what transpired since then. I only wish that this could be made into a movie!! That would interesting to watch. Hell I'd even let you direct it!! ( I kid - I kid!!) At any rate ........ Thank you once again. I am so glad to see that things didn't go south for you after all that.
Hey there, very nice of you to take the time brother. I know about the 4 ft x wing in Return of the jedi! I would love to see yours in the making. I know Jason was working on one but dont know where he is on it. Anyway please keep in touch and again thinks for taking time to listen in. Yeah the Skywalker Ranch story will now live on lol
I don't know about the version that Jason Eaton is making but as far as I know no one else has gotten half way as far as I have. I had to go back to the drawing board on the fuselage. It got crushed under the weight of the box it was in - deformed and caved in. I don't know how much is still intact but I have to check.. I didn't realize that this had happened and I am NOT looking forward to seeing all my hard work destroyed! I still have most of the parts that I made in polystyrene but the main superstructure is gone. I'll have to re-think making this from something other than BALSA as it is so easy to make things from but not very durable. Either way, I don't know how RU-vid policies are now about uploading videos as I now know that you have to "Pay to play" to share which I don't understand as they post COMMERCIAL ADS in your videos from time to time.. I have a lot of wonderful things that I've made and would love to share but at what price? I'll have to check and when I can get this done then maybe I'll post all my builds here instead of the modeling forums. Thank you once again for posting this video - it is now a part of Star Wars history!
Silly me; after high school I went one state away to college. Great story! More power to ya!😘 A guy with a southern upbringing must have felt very out of sorts in L.A.!🤭😲
If only Mr. Lucas could see your wonderful creation and how he, to this day, continues to inspire you. I know, if I were him, I would contact and thank you personally. What you did took a lot of courage. I’m so happy for you , for your joy, prosperity, and for the good place you are in life. Looking forward to more of your awesome and very personable videos. THANK YOU!
Wow Juan, that means a lot what you wrote. Gave me goose bumps that there are so many kind heart loving people in this world like you. Hope to show you some really cool content in the future. Just FYI We have just kicked off a new podcast that will be aired live on Saturday evenings. " Collection Wars" The first episode you can go to RU-vid and type EPISODE 1 THE NEWEST HOPE Thanks again
Lol great intro. I made it all the way to Skywalker ranch to take a picture in front of the gate but man I didn’t have the balls to jump the fence lol. Hilarious story
@@star.killer77-27 lol yea it is. You can see how George can get inspired living up there. By the way I also subscribed to your Collecting Wars channel. Hope to meet you one day
Yeah this was filmed before I had a bigger production on the videos. Filmed with my iPhone! But every video after this one is filmed with a couple cameras, lights and a good mic. Thanks for watching! May the Force be with You!
Remember, Lucas is a very important person and there are a lot of crazy people out there and he gets death threats. You do realize that? Hint, hint... a lot of crazy people out there...
Hey Paul, thank you first off all for watching and for your question! So I started out wanting to be a Director which I have been able to experience. I also love to write. Nothing more rewarding than having a concept idea turn into reality.
Hey Sal, its 4 in the morning and I'm scowling down trying to answer all the comments. Means a lot you continuing to take time to watch. Appreciate you
