Something i love about Justin is he's always humble and doesn't make excuses. He admits when he just didn't play well or made a bad decision and always calls out the good calls the opponent does and acknowledges if they are sre better or not. Strive to be like him
@@kakashifuijin You are absolutely right, Max always seems to make excuses when he does lose, which is honestly pretty irritating. Justin on the other hand recognizes his opponents skill, and that's why I have nothing but respect for him.
Hey Justin l,m 62 years old and that’s exactly how I play Ryu in the past , back in the early 90s in the arcades , and it’s a culture shock for me to be playing SF6 now with the drive rush and parry system as I’m trying to get used to playing within the game culture
@@ttran9505 Thanks , I don’t think that the players would be happy if they knew grandpa was beating them using Jamie ( who l use against Terry at the moment) l get enough people quitting during the game and it probably would be worse if they knew how old l am 😂
It is the korean dude who lives in New York - USA . He is beyond expert at this game. I think he even sleeps with his arcade stick in his hand XD . He has a youtube channel and he always streams there .
@@jonesy7425 DJILK-SF2TV That one . he is always looking for the strongest players in any game related to SF II . Yesterday a M. Bison (dictator) player was giving him the business XD
Walking against a downed opponent trying to throw them doesn’t look like a pro move to me. Should use a couple of short taps then you time it perfectly to get the throw.
Yeah. But there's also the aggravating factor that Justin is actually experienced at SF2 unlike Smug. He might not have the same level of 3S at HF but he is still skilled and experienced. So it takes godly skill to wash him that way. No gimmicks, no exploits like those common in Super Turbo (Vega, T. Hawk, etc). Completely dominated and outplayed with honest fundamentals and the most fair matchup literally.
@@bareknucklealtona8278 it works but the combo timing is a bit weird dont think its a combo after the shorts, maybe if you do it too slow? but the roundhouse still hits its a combo if you do it fast enough
you cant block THAT FLYING KICK from that angle. Pretty sure you have to DRAGON PUNCH to avoid getting wrekt. I think later in the video white Ryu actually managed to light dragon punch Justin to stop over the head combo. Peace.
@@dadrising6464 not really, but i legitimately think it is easier for people to be good at the game than to bother installing and learning how to play with wack scripts. fightcade also isnt automated so if youre a hacker or a generally bad person people just dont play with you
Justin tends to throw fireballs consecutively and in a rhytmic pattern, so the first blocked fireball often gives away Justin's intentions afterwards. Not to mention that since this is an SF2 Veteran, he's definitely bound to expect more fireballs than usual and already prepared countermeasures against it due to his experience
DJIlK0615 is very hard to take down. His Turbo hours is something else & challenging EVERY person he sees...he counters EVERYTHING coming from shoto players,Zangief mains(Mega Man X8 & Cigar Bob haven't faced him yet...)& hasn't met Chun Li Only Fans(a Chun Li main)...all of these are fightcade players.
Funny thing is that in a recent offline HF tournament there was a kid that was like 15 years old and got second with Blanka. Good to see young players being good at these old mans games.
Not one of. It's still the best. So much so that all they can do is bring back bits of it in modern games to trick people into thinking they're worth playing.
The strongest point of Turbo to me is not having "Super Turbo Vega" and "O. Sagat". Any other top tier (except Champion Edition Bison) in SF2 is tolerable besides those two toxic top tiers.
@@aliasmcdoe All those games are busted and don't deserve respect for their balance. But there are little things that help to make ST a bit more toxic than HF. That's all I think. It's not about fanboying about one version or something like that.
In CE and HF, there are just 2 colors for each fighter. Unlike the CPS2 SF2s, where you can choose 7. So, one player has to take the original coloration!😊
Yeah, i think this one is probably a whole new level of getting washed for someone like Justin. Especially for a franchise like SF that he is very experienced at.
One of the things i love about watching vids on this channel is finding amazing players on this old fighting games like djilk and megaman-x on st. Seeing Justin's level of fundermantals and footsies against people who never stopped to train on old games is amazing.
JNustin Wong clapping after winning one round is about the same reaction that most average players would have facing him if they won one round after losing 4 straight games.
Ever since I got COVID my health have been degrading a lot and I really hope that one day before I depart.. just one day I'll get to meet you Justin. You are my favorite fighting game star, thank you for always putting up such amazing content!
Hyper Fighting to this day is my favorite fighting game of all time, obviously my #1 SF game. No supers, no parries, no alpha counters, or drive rush, or focus attack, or v triggers, or custom combos etc, etc. Just simply the tools on your character, and fundamentals winning the day. I loved this type of SF, and although I am nowhere near as good as I once was, my reaction time isnt there, nor are my combos, but the fundamentals are still intact. Once in a blue moon, my old friends and I will crack this game back out and get a few runs. You need to play HF more Justin, I love it when you run this game.
So with a couple exceptions (like that jump kick, short, short, jump kick combo-not something we did; and tick throws-not widely accepted in some regions and arcades), he seems like a typical top-level Ryu player that you would have faced in a 90s arcades tbh. His style is somewhat like mine was in some respects. At any rate, you rhetorically asked how to stop this guy, so I’m going to throw in a Gen-Xer tip sheet haha. #1 don’t jump in. We rarely jumped in unless we knew a fireball was coming because of the other guy’s patterns. #2 throw your fireballs in combination with crouching kicks, and use more jab fireballs to make it harder for him to go through. #3 vary your play style. I did see you do this to some degree near the halfway point, but he did also (so keep that up). I was at EVO this year on day 2. I wish I could have played you on an arcade machine lol. Nobody played me, though. There’s a different culture nowadays. Beating the CPU was lame lol
Spot on about that cross-up combo. I've seen it in CE and saw someone do it in HF. I remember trying it and couldn't get it to work and thought I must have been misremembering. You're right about those throws though haha... maybe those guys at Evo thought, "If you throw him.... you get stabbed!" lol
Yo. This is why I love you so much. Your willingness to show your struggles and losses. You beat the shit out of me at ces capcom event. Beat long Island joe. Humbled the shit out of all of us. Still had a blast. Shout out to Seth Killan. Love you Justin.
This player is the unknown dude in the 90s that pulls up to the mall arcade running the Street Fighter 2 machine all night and then leaves without anyone ever seeing him again...
That was intense! I picked up Street Fighter collection from the humble bundle and decided to go back to SFII just for laughs, but when I loaded it up I found an incredible game that 10 year old me couldn't grasp at the time. It looks so simple and yet it's deceptively hard to master. This game is timeless, and it goes to show that sometimes less is more.
This reminds me of when I was about 8 or 9 years old and thought I was so tough playing on my snes and beating the game on hardest settings, then I went to the arcades to play against the older kids. It didn’t go well for me 😢😂
WOng where you finding these poeple got me scared to pick up Hyper fighting again that's mad clean and he was book reading you too remind me of my brother playing me in this game they just know.
I noticed the neutral jump and jump back to dodge fireball, and jab light DP. But when you mentioned it at the end I was like, “YES!!!! I knew it! I wasn’t just making shit up.”
Neutral jumping a fireball then jumping back is next level chess stuff because by doing that, that fireball is still on screen.....therefore preventing Justin from throwing another one and keeping his distance. #NextLevelTactics
Hello Justin, i love your videos and i beg you to play Dual Souls The Last Bearer. Its a indie, turkish fighting game that you can play for less than 10 dollars on steam (or even for free on mobile). This game was made with love by a very small team, and they did an icredible work. Dual Souls plays a lot like third strike, the last blade, Guilty Gear and even Mortal Kombat. Here you have ex moves and two types of parrying: one that works exactly like sf3 and other that is kinda like reflectors from Akatsuki Blitzkampf. There is also burst and even yellow roman canceling. They even have fatalities for those who love violence. Also have a insane combo variety that makes you think a bit more than usual but really pays of. Also the plot is simple, but really takes itself serious. You can really see the Turkey influence on its aesthetic, plot and characters (especially with Efe, Nagashapa and André). In the end, Dual Souls its a fun game for everyone and one of the best of the decade, much more worth your money than SF6, Tekken 8 or MK1.
Well he is a good veteran gamer who plays the game instinctively with a strong 90s play style. Reminds me of the old Javanese competitions back then, He must have long years of training behind him, and he has a very good knowledge of the game too. Don't feel bad ^-^ I'm 44, so I can tell, lol You gave him plenty of occasions to get hit easily. Use Hadoken mostly during or after a combo, then mid low kick to avoid any incoming Tatsu, And use more Tatsus when you make the opponent use a fireball attack. For the rest, you are good, he just has a better chain combo experience. You can learn a lot from this man. Never give up Champ!
Amazing thing about these games is that no matter how good you think are, there's always someone's who better and will hand you your ass. Thanks Justin :)
Yep. The legendary SF2 Ryu's Tatsumaki. With its s on the first few frames, it's legitimately one of the game's most broken moves. The fact this dude's so fluent in it definitely betrays his age ^^.
How old is this guy 😂😂 That was amazing to watch, what skill set from both sides. Like mama use to say, “there is always someone bigger and badder” 😎 ✌🏽❤️
That fireball is so iconic. I can't help but be taken back to 8 year old me at the arcade getting my ass beat by 14 year old stranger and loving every second of it. Then, i would go home and play street fighter. Miss those days
This is like watching my own replays and online experiences with any fighting game, lol. "Did you press a button? Bad decision. Look at you, you can't even block string"... "... Yeah, I'm going back to Vampire Survivors where I belong :("
Coming from someone who grew up playing in the arcades, through 2 to Champion to Hyper Fighting. The skill doesn't lie. No internet. Just learning. Cross kick to punch to Sho-Ryu-Ken. It's all attention, focus and practice to certain things. The fierce moves can be taken advantage of quickly. Only commit if you're sure.
The timing of this guy is insane completely insane as he can predict almost every move ‘ thanks for showing that such player exists 👍 you can be strong but if the opponent got the upper hand cause his timing is far better than yours you re just done ‘ completely insane ‘
i really enjoyed your reaction to his counter air towards the end.. haha, this guy was good but you are too. when are you going to have a tutorial series for newbies for sf2?
this version is crazy. So many tricks only work on this one. BTW, hard tatsu can be knocked down by light tatsu. Another technique u can try is that Ryu and Kens' close stand roundhouse is a guarantee meaty. Opponents can not do DP at all.
