The Greatest Showman Movie Description:
Growing up in the early 1800s, P.T. Barnum displays a natural talent for publicity and promotion, selling lottery tickets by age 12. After trying his hands at various jobs, P.T. turns to show business to indulge his limitless imagination, rising from nothing to create the Barnum & Bailey circus. Featuring catchy musical numbers, exotic performers and daring acrobatic feats, Barnum's mesmerizing spectacle soon takes the world by storm to become the greatest show on Earth.
The Greatest Showman is a fictionalised 2017 American biographical musical drama film directed by Michael Gracey (in his directorial debut) from a screenplay written by Jenny Bicks and Bill Condon, and a story by Bicks. The film stars an ensemble cast led by Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, Rebecca Ferguson, and Zendaya. Featuring nine original songs from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul and a score composed by John Debney and Joseph Trapanese, the film is based on the story and life of P. T. Barnum, a showman and entertainer, and his creation of the Barnum & Bailey Circus and the lives of its star attractions.
Principal photography began in New York City in November 2016. The film premiered on December 8, 2017, aboard RMS Queen Mary 2. It was released in the United States on December 20, 2017, by 20th Century Fox, seven months after Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus ceased operations. The film grossed $435 million worldwide, making it the fifth-highest-grossing live-action musical film of all time.
The film was praised for the performances, music, visuals, and production values, but was criticised for its artistic license. It has, however, developed a cult following through its message of empowerment and sense of escapism, in part thanks to the success of its soundtrack. It received nominations for Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy and Best Actor - Musical or Comedy for Jackman at the 75th Golden Globe Awards. The film won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song for the song "This Is Me", which was also nominated for Best Original Song at the 90th Academy Awards and won the Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards.

Finally someone who loves "From now on" as much as me. All the songs are amazing but "From Now On" just hit differently everytime. It makes me feel homesick, I feel depressed and hopeful as the same time. And the choreography slaps so hard. Just magical !

This movie always looks so fun and interesting to me, but it has been hard for me to watch it since I know the story of the real PT Barnum and how badly he treated these people. I wish they gave Hugh Jackman’s character a new name or made him a different character because this interpretation does look great. I think watching your reaction might be the best way to enjoy it though, your videos are always entertaining.❤️😊

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this musical the first time I watched it, but it quickly became my favorite. Fun fact the actress who was on stage for Never Enough wasn't the one who actually sang the song. She liked the original singer so much she felt it would be wrong if she changed it to hers. But my favorite song is This Is Me. Something about it is so powerful and almost always makes me cry.

I see you Mellow singing 👀🔥 But with Zendaya, she said in an Interview that the Director for the movie wanted to use the Stunt Double as little as possible, so a lot of the Acrobatics were definitely her but the stuff that was more advanced was the double. Zendaya is amazing 💕🔥✨

Great reaction, brother! Always found this movie very entertaining. When you asked if some of the actors that were in this movie actually looked like how they did in the movie, it reminded me of this movie you should check out. Don’t know if you’re a huge fan of classic black and white films but I would highly recommend Freaks from 1932. The director, Tod Browning, actually hired real carnival performers so all the unique appearances were real

First off, this is one of my favorite movies. It's one of the few movies I keep re-watching with my dad and especially 'this is me' and 'never enough' are special songs for me. This was a great commentary, man. I really like your genuine enjoyment with the film and the songs. And I gotta say, you're voice is actually really good. Especially in that first bit of 'from now on' I actually thought you sounded kinda like Jackman. You should definitely do more musical movies. Grease, West Side Story, Les Miserables, Into The Woods or maybe something like Dear Evan Hansen?

I remember doing a duet with my friend to the song 'The Other Side' when we put on a spring concert together. We did a "female version" and I got to sing Phillip's part (Zac Efron) it was so much fun. we even did an onstage costume change during the song where we went from plain street clothes from that time period to circus costumes. :D

My whole extended family used to go to The Barnum and Bailey circus every single year. At least 20 ppl in 3 rows and we got all the memorabilia and was at the final show that came through Dallas tx. All of the carnival entertainment and odd people were real and based on real people. I had a cookie tin with the dog faced boy, the tattoo lady, the tallest man, and a couple more that aren't in this movie on it and it looks exactly like the banners used in the movie.

Also believe it or not a lot of circus performers did throw hands with protests back in the day cuz they considered each other family & wouldn't let anyone fuck around with them. Fun fact: Gugh Jackman during this had surgery on his nose to remove skin cancer & was told not to sing but during "From Now On" he couldn't hekp but just belting out & joining in

This movie outknocked my all life favorite movie Titanic - the songs was so heavenly great, and the fact that this was Jackmans dreamfilm go make in his life, and the love between Efron and the up in the air-girl, and Loren the Singers voice ger is, and Rebecka, and the fact that I've Always been an outsider, whom became popular, but never forgot to apriciate the outcomes or outsiders; because they're the real People- this movie is a gem, that gives me goosebumps and makes me stay humble. I love this movie! So happy you reacted to it! It is not really close to PT Barnaums actually story but as a movie/musical its incrediable! He was a lot older wheh he created his circus and he was actually a jerk! And Zac and Zendaya's characters were made up for the movie, they werent real people. This is my favorite Hugh Jackman movie for sure! I love zac efron in hairspray( musical), charlie st cloud and 17 again. This is my 2nd fav musical of his! Favorite songs are From now on ( sung at the end when he is running back to his fam) And Tightrope( his wife's song) honestly such a tender love song. I tear up listening to both 😢😂 A honorable mention is the song Zac and Hugh sing in the bar.
