A few things that I've learned in the four raids that have hit me so far: Do not build on mesas, rocks or in trees that the raid thinks it cant run to. Even with stairs up to the base, the raid apparently thinks that it can not get to you and pulls a Conan purge mechanic and spawns on roofs and in buildings and starts using those battering rams from the top down and inside out.. its not a good look. Second: the raids are different in strength and number per raid. The first one was something like 12 mid level, easy to kill guys that mostly died in traps. The second was two waves of higher level and much harder npc with bosses leading them that just smashed the traps and then started on the base itself. The third was three waves with multiple high level bosses and they did enough damage to me and the base itself that I had to change the layout to try to get the AI to realize that there were multiple staircases directly up to the base.. but no. Fourth was just a cluster F and forced me to move the base to flat ground to hopefully avoid the surprise StarTrek beam in maneuver they keep doing. Last tip is that the meter only has to be at about 80% full to get the raid. All four spawned at that mark and all four scouts died to either traps or crossbow towers so I didnt get to see the number of enemies countdowns either hehe
I love open concept bases like yours too. That's what I build on my solo playthrough. The other day I made the mistake of leaving the game open overnight to AFK craft and get some EXP, and I woke up to find ALL of my storage chests destroyed and all my loot in them ofc was despawned. I hadn't given any thought to protecting against raids lol
Well it’s actually my third time.First time I had to sleep and I guess reloging resets the fever invasion. Second time I had to go to work so that reset it. So third time is what your seeing and me actually witnessing everything.
