I saw Willie Mosconi play at the University Of Florida in 1968. He ran 150 balls to win the straight pool match and I can only imagine how intense a hypothetical match with Reyes would be. The Great playing with the Great!
@machoturbo357
@machoturbo357 3 года назад
Reyes is one of the best or the best in every pool discipline there is except for snooker, but he could probably be one of the best at it if he puts the time. Mosconi plays straight pool. The Great with the Greatest.
@wrightflyer7855
@wrightflyer7855 3 года назад
@@machoturbo357 That would be a heck of a match if Mosconi were still alive. Reyes is a natural born player and it shows in the way he figures angles for shots that look impossible. He''s a true pleasure to watch.

@bandit7498

@itiller69 There is indeed an element of luck in making shots like this. The difference and what make Reyes so special is he is a master at calculating the risks of trying a shot like this in major competition and pulling it off. We all know the shots, like the last one, the 2 ball carom shot. But the difference is how many top players have the balls to take those risks in major competition. Reyes pulls off shots like this a lot because he tries them when others won't.

@mescellaneous
@mescellaneous 3 года назад
are you brain dead? that's a complement. he is the magician because time and time again he proves to commentators they dont understand the game at efren's level. a hater might call efren an "unorthodox" player maybe. a magician performs magic tricks with the intention of concealing the trick. someone watching a magician does not need to understand "how", and further more does not question the integrity of magic tricks, as long as it's a live performance and no plants or other nefarious devices. unless they are calling him a magician that uses gimmicks, it is a definite complement.

+Capt. Bamboo It's a hypothetical statement. His opponent calls it luck, so he would reply sarcastically , "Everytime I practice, I get luckier" Meaning the key to his luck is practice. So its not luck at all but enhancing his skill. The lesson is, there is no luck when you are prepared and practice many hours.

@TheStrokeofGenious Oh, no doubt. My comment wasn't meant to suggest he isn't a great player. What I was saying is he has all the knowledge and skill, as well as many other world class players. What separates him from the pack is his own personal confidence in his skill. There's players out there that know as much about the game as Reyes does. The difference is they don't have the self belief he has and would never try the things he does in competition. His confidence gives him the edge.

Efren Reyes getting lucky? I don't think so. Reyes is probably the best pool player ever. If the other player did a mistake or a bad shot, is because he is not as good as Efren or because he wasn't focused enough, that's it.

9ball is just as qualified as snooker in that you work up one shape at a time (mostly) - smaller table means smaller margin of error. Even Ronnie-O used to miss lots of shots on the large snooker table. If you want difficulty then its Carom type billiards, they are the most difficult, and Efren was one of the best Carom players in the world! Don't troll if you don't know what u r talking about.
@C--A
@C--A 6 лет назад
Marco Kimani Bro there isn't a smaller margin for error in American 9 ball pool compared to snooker. A full size American pool table is 9 feet long, a full size snooker table is 12 feet long. American pool tables have much larger pockets less distance to pocket the balls. Plus the jaws of the pockets are aren't as narrow ie you can bounce balls off the cushions and still pot balls. In snooker if you hit a ball off the cushion it won't go in the pocket unless it's a bizarre fluke. Bigger table means greater distance to pocket balls, less margin for error along with smaller pockets narrower jaws. Snooker is a whole step up in skill ability to pool that's a proven fact. Nothing against pool it's a fun game does take some skill and Reyes is a genius. But any top pool player would get beaten at snooker even by a low ranked amateur snooker player. You can say why don't snooker players play pool. The reason being the money isn't great compared to snooker and the travel, most snooker players are based in the UK don't want to relocate to USA. But if they did take it seriously they would be dominating American pool. Appleton from the UK played amateur snooker before becoming a American pool player. He has won lots of major American pool tournaments. Most UK snooker players only dabble in UK red & yellow ball pool where they have won. If they did put the time effort to play American pool they would be the best.

9 ball. The balls are run 1 through 9. The person to pocket the 9 ball wins the game. Anytime the cue ball hits a ball that is not the lowest number on the table, it is a foul and the other player has ball in hand and can place it anywhere. Those are the basics... you can find more online. :)

Manny Boy Snooker players only play American pool once in a blue moon. There isn't the money in American pool for them like snooker. If they actually put the effort in played a couple of full American pool seasons they would be winning titles. Mark Selby current World snooker champion played world UK pool championship few years ago and won it comfortably. Snooker is much more skillful and harder to pot balls than American pool. Snooker players are better potters than American pool players.

American billiards table is smaller, yes, but the margin of error is smaller too. Snooker can forgive you for mistakes because: 1.the table is large enough that long balls are hard to pot (meaning u get forgiven for mistakes sometimes) 2.you can make bad shape on the target red ball and still get shape on another red ball. Snooker looks intimidating to patzers because they see a large table and pee their pants = "much higher art" LOL... youtube idiots never cease to amaze.
