You will appreciate the situation --- of what this guy's saying --- if you realize that EVEN White northern European RUSSIANS, the per capita income for the very well educated (lawyers, doctors, accountants, teachers, engineers, etc) is almost Third World pay (among Third World's best educated, of course). I saw a few episodes of Russian RU-vidrs, living in Russia (like Nikki P, Konstantin, Eli from Russia et al) and the pays for these above mentioned fields are, today, between $4,000 to $8,000 a YEAR. Imagine what your PAY would be, like this guy and other minorities in Siberia (Petr Yan, the MMA fighter from Siberia said the same thing: growing in Siberia was very harsh)... if you're non-White, less educated, growing up in SPARSELY populated Siberia, with most of the elderly living off of "pension" of no more than $200 a month (that's Third World earning in very poor countries like Burma, Laos, Cambodia, etc. Thailand is a bit more developed, so the per capital income in Thailand is actually quite similar to the one in Russia, even though, again, Russia has MASSIVE gas, oil, diamond, gold, aluminum, iron ore & other rare earth resources... plus a very highly educated population, as northern White Europeans, even if they're slightly on the Eastern Part of Northern Europe)....

From watching these videos the first wave of Russian soldiers were deceived about going to Ukraine for war and had little or no training. The second wave had more experience but little equipment. I’ve watched a number of these, and they’re filled with half truths and omissions. He initially had a drink of wine with the tankers; later on we find out he was captured stumbling drunk. Took forever to find out he shot one of the civilians but his claim that he shot after he had been shot down by others made no sense.
Of course they dont tell the full truth, they are scared to Never return home again, but his Story makes sense, after death the body still operates in some ways, releasing air, movements etc. if youre experiencing this for the first time in a warzone while beeing scared, under adrenaline, i would not wonder if he fired an entire magazine at the dead body
@@matthiasfuchs6150 You're right, it made sense to me as well. Dude got creeped out from the noises of the air leaving the victim's body - imo the victim could've been dead or severely wounded at this point - and he shot at the victim likely in panic, to me it was somewhat believable* ... although I'm not sure, if he's hiding more such stories he didnt tell anybody and he's deeply ashamed of. What I don't understand is: How do these complete idiots go from allegedly "liberating a country" to r4ping, torturing and executing all people in masses, regardless if it's men women or children, I just don't understand their mentality. But they're crying immediately when talking to their own relatives ... asking about their own kids. This has to be envy and greed in a "if we kill them all, we can take/steal all their possessions" type of way ... likely coming from a "these Ukrainians live better than we do in Russia" kind of thoughts/angry jealous feelings and that's effing terrifying! I've no other explanation for this! & Truly breaks my heart for all Ukrainian people. I'll send money for humanitarian help as often as I can; everybody should. * Also, there are individuals using other's experiences to their own advantage to victimize themselves - (like in the Heard cases Amber using her assistant's story on the stand), so I wonder if this happened to him or to one of his buddies - and he gave them his buddy's story to hide his own, that are WAY worse. I have watched a few of these and always marvelled at the "journalist" keeping his cool whilst questioning. Clearly he is exhausted. In this case his demeaner was different and I suspect that he knew more than he was being told by the captured soldier and did not believe a word. Nevertheless, he maintained professional detachment. I am not sure that the rest of us could in similar circumstances.
I googled where he's from, surely I'm not the only one that doesn't know. He's from East Siberia where it's factually "far east". The region really has nothing going on and its most notable people are those who made it in sports. He probably is known as "doing well", because he was able to get a military contract.
It's extremely sad that his only opportunity was military. He is well spoken and appears intelligent. I wish these men had other opportunities to earn a living and contribute positively to society.
I would like to know how the moskals are trained to behave when captured. In WWII the troops were to disclose only "name, rank, service number." Then, in US anyway, there developed a "code of conduct" for US forces if/when captured. So Russians give their troops _any_ rules or guidance on what to say if captured. From Zolkin's interviews, it seems the Russian code of conduct for POWs is: - know nothing about your unit's plans or intentions - report your only activities during hostilities as standing around or driving around. - you have observed no local people in the country where you were captured - Generally, for situations not covered above: avoid the truth whenever possible and defer to one of the preceding answers.

Civilians never hide in factories, and NEVER EVER they mix with soldiers cause every person who is not retarded knows that enemy will concetrate their fire on army not on civilians. And they could leave the city by foot, in wartime civillians come in situations where they have 100-200 km of walk to safeplace, but thhey decided to hide with army. Zero logics.
@@fedoremelianenko430 The bunkers under azofstal are huge and the civilians were in totally different parts than the soldiers. The civilians had the choice to either try to evacuate via the frontline or fake corridors and either get shot or deported or hide in the bunkers under the azofstal steel plant. (Bunkers that were made for a situation like the one they had). People can also do weird things in dangerous situations especially when there’s group thinking or a certain amount of brainwashing involved. Just look at the chemical plant in Severodonesk where the Ukrainian army has been trying to evacuate civilians for two weeks and instead of decreasing the amount of civilians under the factory it actually increased from around 150 to around 500. The people are hiding under a huge bomb and are now even endangering the lives of soldiers and harming their strategy because they can’t leave or retreat from the vicinity of the factory because they don’t want to let the people just burn to death when the factory explodes and all exits collapse.

@Gorgeous George Actually, they have a duty to refuse. Refusing such orders may well require more bravery than fighting trench warfare: if you are the invader, the enemy probably will not be able to get back at your family. Your government, on the other hand...

Great video as usual. I know you all work so hard to produce and translate these videos but it would be fantastic if a few more has subtitles. So much for Religion. So much for his Buddhist beliefs. He’s supposed to believe that “Suffering is inherent in life and that one can be liberated from it by cultivating wisdom, virtue, meditation and good behaviour to achieve enlightenment or Nirvana”. His only understanding of suffering is the suffering he has inflicted on innocent Ukrainians, men, women, children and babies. It sickens me to listen to him weeping and asking if his wife and kids and parents are ok when he has murdered innocents. He has taken lives and destroyed innocent families. He does not understand the true meaning of wisdom, virtue and good behaviour. He’s certainly not wise. He’s certainly not virtuous and he certainly does not possess good behaviour. If he truly followed his religious beliefs he wouldn’t have joined the Russian Army. Armed forces by nature are violent and aggressive. He knows that. There will be no forgiveness. He will never attain enlightenment or Nirvana. The only thing waiting for him after this life is eternal purgatory in the fires of hell. Slava Ukraine ❤️❤️🇬🇧🇺🇦❤️❤️
I've been a big critic of this war from the onset and Putin needs to pay with his life and then some but to blame the common soldier who was forced to invade Ukraine as if he was the mastermind behind these atrocities is over-reaching...then again if you were a family member of one of the murdered victims then display of extreme anger is understandable.
Chingiz doesn't seem to be an evil man. Just one of many lost souls putin threw under the bus for his own gains. I think he is truly sorry for his actions, but doesn't want to take full responsibility - and how to blame him, after what he went through? I hope he can reunite with his brothers, get exchanged, and go home to spread the word about how unjust this war is. Perhaps he can still produce some good out of his terrible actions.
As a Buddhist he has committed the greatest sin, acted with utter disrespect for life, he will never know peace, war is barbaric and pointless and creates nothing of value. Everything and everyone in this video has been affected in the worst possible way, it is almost unbearable to watch. I think it's a human reaction despite of what anybody could think. Into a situation where you see someone kill so easilly you become scared because you see your own death and of the dead person because death is not conceptually thing, you incontientally think that the dead person will revange on you. Also you'r also scared of your own settlement and for your own life because you realise that life has no value at all. I lived a kindoff similar situation during a car accident : i was very scared of the dead person. Facing these situations we never know how people will behave. The guy is not bad i think : he's was just scared. He was also surprised because things happened very fast. May be this is a context more or less wanted by the commanders to surprise people and put them into stress situations. At theses moments things may turn bad. And if you spread alcool on all of that : it quick turns to fire! But Alcool is probably just a consequence more than the cause? Not sure. Sorry for my english.

Greetings from Russia! You want to know why nobody helps Zelensky? Im pretty sure, that the reason is : Orban, Makron , Merkel are having many benefits from Putins security services.
1. their opinions are bought and 2. ppl in power rarely side with the victim. 3. the don't actually mean it, long term a protracted very long war is most profitable for all shitty ppl. they don't actually want the war to end when they are making so much money from selling military aid to both sides. 4. they don't put it to pootin because they know his brain long gone, there's no point in talking to pootin and for some reason they think Zelensky can decide for his ppl even though he's elected... thus doesn't actually have full decisional control over people that elect you, they can elect someone else like a general that wants to keep fighting to liberate Crimea but "analysts" think he can snap his fingers and all ppl will obey him.

These guys omit key information but they are honest enough to talk. Once you have them talking it is easier to get them to circle around the omissions and start to fill them in from the different versions they tell and slowly work down to the truth. I worry though that they do not have counsel at some point as the whole process could then be for nothing.
@@KN-jr6tx at least some form of legal counsel to avoid unjustifiably incriminating themselves or having their admissions or confessions thrown out due to not having legal counsel.
@Brrs Graham I see. The reason I asked is because the videos are presented as an informational interview with journalists, not a trial or related proceeding where one would need legal counsel. However, I'm unfamiliar with POW processing, so I'm not sure whether the POW's status with the captor can change as a result of these interviews. Regardless, the stated purpose of these interviews is to provide the public with first-hand testimonials to refute Russian propaganda. I think this goal is achieved with or without the presence of counsel. If anyone has specific knowledge about how POWs are processed, I am interested to learn!
@@KN-jr6tx I used to be a legal officer, any admission of a POW done with consent is evidence. The weight any tribunal would place on it would come from the evidence and arguments at trial. The fact that it was not an interrogation and more to record war accounts, could be argued to be more credible. If they have access to counsel, even periodically in the camps, it would go to the credibility and admissibility of the admissions. Individual admissions don’t count much, but cross correlated between a number of POWs can be powerful evidence in critical cases.
@Brrs Graham Interesting. The way you describe the process and the weight of evidence makes sense. Given that many of these POWs are candidates for a prisoner exchange, is it likely that they have already sat before the military tribunal? Following judgement, can they be tried for additional crimes if new evidence is discovered? Your insight helps explain why 250+ POWs interviewed have not shot a bullet, looted a home or harmed a single civilian! (There have been a few exceptions, and there could be certain self-selection biases, etc, but it still doesn't seem representative of the documented crimes committed by the aggressors!)
