remember : the glitch activates when ENTERING the room, simply by doing that all previously shown item pedestals will reroll into that rooms pool, taking the item from the angel specifically doesnt matter because of this

taking missingno was SUCH a mattman moment 1) it basically cant be rerolled by any method anyway, so it was just stuck in Matt's inventory forever 2) even IF it could be rerolled, the "tainted eden glitch" (or just the D4 glitch) would've turned it into a boss item anyway since that's the pool that was last spawned before he took it

Something extremely satisfying with Mattman is the constant rolling with the punches. I think that's why it's so nice to dream to these videos; "NOOOHH well we'll manage is we just do this. See? day 9999 of mattman not actually understanding the D4 exploit, truly a mattman moment (It's based on last item spawned, so even the idea of the missing no. being rerollable into secret room items was wrong because the pool was set to item rooms after he entered the item room)
