I'm a retired cop. It was exhausting having to respond to calls for people making up laws in their own head. And I couldn't tell those people what I thought of them using me as a tool for harassment against other people.

@@xraceboyex I absolutely did call them out. But "Karens" don't just focus on one person. Often times, it would result in a complaint and IA investigation. The allegation against me would be "failure of duty" and then I'd be forced to sit in front of civilian and police boards, explaining why I cannot enforce laws that don't exist.

@@KineticSymphony It’s called Sportsman Harassment, or better known as Hunter Harassment, and its illegal in all 50 states to do it. It’s when you harass somebody who is lawfully fishing or hunting, and it’s a Class 3 Misdemeanor, and is punishable by up to a $200 fine.

Loved how you stayed right there and made cast after cast! I did that to a lakeshore owner that told me to go somewhere else there's the whole lake you can fish. They told me they owned so many feet yada yada so I tried to inform her what navigable water laws actually are and that got her irate. Being that no one was using the dock for water access, I decided to see if she'd have an aneurysm and dropped my talons right in front of the doc and kicked back ate some grub, some calls, caught some rays, just basically wasting her time. The neighbor whose kids were swimming of their dock that I skipped past, got a kick out of it and we started having a lot conversation. He even had his kids being me out some hotdogs fresh off the grill and that really got her goat. So it seems she's caused issues for her neighbors as well.

I have to say it is rare to have these interactions in my experience, but I have a hard time controlling my anger when it happens. I need to be more in control like you were here. A older man told me to quit fishing his water one morning. I was in a boat with a friend, fishing a creek , near his pier. If there’s no law against it, you can’t be stopped, HOWEVER… if I were a boat owner, I’d probably be worried about my boat getting dinged by lead weights too. Look at it this way, imagine if it were popular for people to hunt rabbits with slingshots on public property and they were slinging ball bearings around your $200,000 car parked in the parking lot. The question is, what’s the solution? More laws?

This situation happens often while metal detecting on public property. Unfortunately, most local police "de-escalate" by asking the metal detectorist to leave to prevent any further escalation without ever taking corrective action against the caller. Good cop here , great interaction! I would have love to seen cop taking to Kyle #1 & 2. hahaa

I used to work on boats and worked at marinas and some of us would fish the docks at the marina on the upper Chesapeake bay on our lunch break and I cant even imagine someone saying anything including the yacht owners.

Hi this is Kyle and I want to constitute that I was no where near said marina on that date in question. I Kyle promise to fish and protect fisherman's rights while I am on the water. I do not condone none fishing zones and wish to abolish any such laws. I would also like it to be known that I do not know, engage, or support any of the Karen's in any fishing district.
