I got the world record for the hardest speedrun in Plague Inc, all plagues on mega brutal difficulty. You need to play almost perfectly for a lot of these plagues to do this, so it's a really interesting run
Some of strats I used were from other speedruns, and some were from Tatsur0's guide on Steam. Check them out here: steamcommunity.com/id/tatsur0...
My 2nd channel (WEEKLY UPLOADS): / eaziestspeezy
Watch live at: / eazyspeezy
▶ Twitter: / eazyspeezy
▶ Instagram: / eazyspeezy
▶ Merch: eazyspeezy.com
Watch the world record speedrun here: this video
My channel generally focuses on a more casual side of speedruns. With these videos I want to show off cool speedruns, explain how they work, and entertain. Hopefully you enjoy the content and maybe even take up speedrunning yourself, because it is truly a lot of fun!

Plague Inc. Wiki editor and longtime community member here, thank you for giving the game a boost in exposure and popularity with this video. It’s a game with fascinating mechanics, so I’m glad you took the time to learn them through. 😊 By the way, Severity is a trade off mechanic - humanity’s response will be stronger, but you get more DNA from popping bubbles :)
@toxicthereporter515
@toxicthereporter515 6 месяцев назад
I honestly don't believe this has ever actually mattered for anyone who is playing the game at any serious level; casually - yes. You might have to contend with severity, especially if playing but otherwise? Severity has very little impact other than increasing relative cure research (basically non-existent depending on your playstyle) and affecting how fast you're discovered. It's a mechanic that only exists to punish bad play, and has no real integration with the rest of the game - past merely providing a convenient way to farm DNA (massively spike infectivity & severity when ready to get huge amounts of DNA)

Just in case you were wondering the "manufactured memory" sounds like a psychology concept called "false memories" where if you gather enough information, your brain begins to really want to put everything together to make an actual story. It actually starts to piece together real events, imaginary details made up by the mind, and sometimes details distorted by other memories as well. These memories can actually begin to feel so real that in the past during law cases, there has actually been innocent suspects who start believing they were actually involved in the crime, resulting in false confessions.
@neoqwerty
@neoqwerty 6 месяцев назад
me with that one memory that I SWEAR TO GOD I saw ending credits on Duck Hunt after clearing wave 20. It's impossible, and I suspect that I glitched it something fierce and somehow got garbage letter tile barf from the Mario Bros side (it was a Super Mario 1 + Duck Hunt cart) and my brain never actually read the "contents" of the credits, I was just satisfied I "beat" Duck Hunt on my birthday, even if I was cheating with the zapper right against the CRT screen to turn my gun into a hitscan weapon. And that's the generous explanation, I may have just hallucinated or fabricated that memory wholesale because I really fricking wanted to beat Duck Hunt.
@f.d.3289
@f.d.3289 6 месяцев назад
@@neoqwerty maybe you dreamt that and then confused the actual event with the dream. i had quite a few memories that by now i think must have been dreams because it would make absolutely no sense if they were true. i also have something that i believe to be a very early memory, but which i thought to be a dream for 35 years. there is only a very thin and fuzzy line between dreams and memories. both are reflections of reality that are created by our brain, and which thus evolve over the years, with there being no way to tell "truth" from "fantasy" except communication with others. (and even that is highly dubious to societal bias, check out "How Real is Real?" by Watzlawick -- awesome book!)

I studpied criminology in college, and it had a lot of overlaps with sociology. One of the topics we learnt were how unreliable witness testomonies can be due to how easily manipulated they can be. Not even maliciously, but due to an officer saying one thing, or presenting suspect portraits too early, it has the power to totally flip the memories around and instill fake ones. I have a cat called Puss (we did not know what to name her aha) and my mother saved her when she was less than a week old (presumably) and being beaten by teens, it was a miracle she survived. I was 10 months old when it happened so logically have no recollection, but I remember it- and I can only word it how you worded your own experience! She's 15 now, but not slowing down at all! She was spayed at 7, and they accidentally found out she had a severe hernia when spaying her- it saved her life by chance as she presumably would only have about a week left if unchecked, the poor thing's a fighter- she never changed how she act, we never would have known! I hope your dog Lucky is well, and if they have passed on, I know the sweet little thing had a great owner, you seemed extremely fond in your anecdote! The Planet of the Apes trilogy, in my opinion, is actually one of the best movie trilogies out there. It's not without its flaws, but every entry is a super solid movie in its own right and unlike other trilogies that are notorious for DRASTICALLY dropping off in quality in the later installments, this one holds strong until the end, with an emotional finale if you've watched from the start. As examples of other trilogies that I think handle themselves extremely well I'd list the Hunger Games and How to Train Your Dragon trilogies, with Maze Runner being pretty dang solid overall though with a few more blatant flaws than the others. Long story short, if the premise interests you, I definitely would encourage giving PotA a watch :)

“But is it a good movie? Tell me in the comments” It’s SO GOOD. That trilogy isn’t the kind of thing I’m usually into, but I ADORE those films. There is so much love and care put into the story telling- they are shockingly poignant- it caught me really off guard since I didn’t expect it, but I’m dead serious. Definitely worth checking out! And while I’m here.. I’ve been lingering for awhile on your channel and I always really love your runs! I’m a huge fan of speedrunning, and it’s tons of fun seeing your casual commentary alongside some genuinely impressive gameplay! You make some fantastic stuff! Keep up the good work and I hope you have a fantastic day ^-^

Actually, the topic you shared about the "manufactured memories" is truly fascinating! Your personal story, though 'fake' memory, really got me thinking. It's incredible how our memories can be shaped and influenced, especially at such a young age. Just a while ago, a friend and I were reminiscing about a trip we took, and through our conversation, some details seemed to get embellished or altered. It made me realize how susceptible our memories are to suggestion, not only in childhood but also in adulthood. I wonder how often this happens in various aspects of our lives. It's intriguing to consider the malleability of our recollections.

Fun fact: severity does more than make you get noticed faster. The higher your severity the more DNA you get. You can easily notice in the parasite run that he gets something like 4 or 6 DNA per bubble when normally you get 1 or 2. That's the severity.

A little thing to note- Severity increases the number of DNA points you get from red bubbles, so upgrading some symptoms early on is a great way to get more points.

I love the little tangent about memory during the Vamp plague. I have a couple different "memories" where its not something I actually remember but I've heard and told the story so many times it may as well be a memory. Cool to know others experience that :)

This was a fun speedrun! :D I've never managed to beat some of these outside of easy mode. Also, I absolutely understand what you mean re: those memories- I'm not sure if the memory of my family and I bringing home our puppy Ralph when my bro and I were 4 is a legit memory or, like you said, a manufactured one. Brains are odd. (And re: that candy! I have such distinct memories of my Gram having The Best Candy as a little, but trying the same candy as an teen/adult was underwhelming, RIP.)

It's interesting seeing shadow virus speedruns because I always learned to play it super slow and steady because if you don't trigger the actual infection and instead just sit in one place farming until you have like infinite points, you can basically just win every time

The fact that you mentioned the memories of someone telling you what happened while you were much younger... yeah, I have my own version of that. I don't have a vivid imagination that I remember it through my own mind... but I still remember it because of how many different times it was told. It starts like this: We lived in Italy because our dad was military. My older brother wanted to eat fruits... and saw a dish on the menu that translates to 'Fruits of the Sea'. He saw fruit and got it... found out it was seafood. Guess what my baby ass self decided to do? I ate all of it. I kept making a face that told everyone 'Bleh, I hate this' before I went back and have more. Fun fact: I actually like seafood now, so...

Hell yeah, i loved this game. I could never get past virus though. (The second one, not the first one hahah) One thing a lot of people dont know you can sell traits back for DNA. So if you get a random mutation that you dont like, you can get rid of it. (He does this during the simian flu.) Also, madagascar and greenland were always the worst for me I had a good strategy that when id get any symptoms, you can delete them for DNA to use somewhere else, and id put it all into infection. Then once everyone was infected, id take all the DNA back and put it all into symptoms to just watch everyone die hahaha

I love the little appreciation and love bits you give randomly in videos ❤ It really means a lot to some people to hear that, at the very least as a reminder. I also loved the memory parts lol. I don't have fake memories myself from stories people have told me from before I could remember (though I've heard many), but I do have memories no one else remembers lmao. I remember waking up in my bed on my fourth birthday, getting dressed, walking to the kitchen, and my mom was there with a white decorated cake with a big ol' 4 candle on it, she wished me Happy Birthday lol. The memory just ends there for me kinda, but my mom doesn't remember this at all, except she remembers the cake, but doesn't remember any decorations besides the 4 candle.

another thing about severity, is that, a really high level of severity does make the labs shut down faster, at the endgame where ppl are about to die, you can get progression of healing alted in some countries as early as 65% deaths, while usually it's just a bit later

higher severity gives more dna points when popping red bubbles, can use it as a tactic in some runs, and if you get high enough severity, even if you don't kill, can still cause people to work on cure, just a bit slower, and can still cause people to close boarders, airports and ships
