This really captures how starter homes SHOULD be. Simple, but with good bones. It's a lot easier for players to add or replace furniture or add a yard as a family grows than have to suddenly add a whole new bedroom. I love to build from scratch personally, but a lot of people don't and this is great for those players - or just for those of us that want to yeet out some "extra" family members :,D

You're officially a video game environment artist! The process you went through with feedback and iteration (and working in areas that don't have finished ground, textures, etc 😩) is exactly what environment artists do daily! We work with the prop modelers and designers and art directors to give and get feedback and I'm positive your comments on prices and other stuff were very appreciated.

I love it so much that The Sims team is inviting simmers to work with them. Good job!

The Rec center totally reminds me of a YMCA. They’re gyms usually with available childcare and summer camps. They have classes and programs for all ages

Thank you SO MUCH for 4 Bedrooms in a family pack. One of my main complaints in HSY was that it was hard to move in family without cheats. I played your build in Snowy Escape quite a bit and I'm sure I will get a ton of use of this one too!

I cant believe we only have 3 days until the pack releases! And the infant update is TOMORROW?! We've been waiting so long that it doesn't seem real. I'm so excited!!

Its so lovely to see the huge Filipino inspirations in this new world. Robles , Ruano, Bayani ,Aurelio and Ignacio are common Filipino names. Plus Tala means "star" in our language. Its so cool they are using Filipino culture everywhere in this world.

My attention span is practically non-existent so I didn't think I'd be able to watch this whole video, but Kayla is obviously so excited about this that it made it worth the watch for sure ♥

I always loved how Lilsimsie buildings are "Performant Friendly" while still being very furnished. And having this in the actual game is SO NICE! She could build for every pack and I would be very happy for it.

that rec center is PHENOMENAL! It looked like a workout to build. The flow of the rooms made me think of my childhood rec center when they did family days, where the entire building was open and families were going from room to room. Amazing!

I started playing GT yesterday and accidentally chose the blue suburban house 😂❤ Just loved the style and the fact you could have lots of people living there! Amazing work, really! The funny thing is that the only elements I changed in the house were part of the original plan 🤣 All of your official buildings are awesome! And I love how honest you are about the whole process! ❤

I actually built my own house (Craftsman style) for my legacy, but I love that we have a starter home with so many rooms squeezed in. Bravo!

I’m so excited for all your builds, ESPECIALLY the rec center. In my legacy challenge I had a teen sim who had an “after school hangout club” and wanted to have them use a club room at high school and was so disappointed when I found out you can’t host club meetings at the high school lot. Very excited to revisit the idea at your rec center ❤

I’m literally playing in the first house she showed us, it’s a lovely house then tragedy struck, I was renovating it and then the roof started glitching so I had to redo the entire roof. I also had to fix the windows.

Simsie I was crying so much throughout this whole video I’m so proud of you dear! You’ve put in so much work and learned so much that no longer are you growing from this game, it’s growing from you too!

Played for a few days now with the new expansion and I have to say I love to go to the rec center! It's now my favorite place to go with my sims family :3 So good job! Very nice designed and fun to play.

So excited that when I finally get the pack I have an affordable home I can move the family I created for the infant update into. I even have room for them to have another kid!

I’m actually using the first house for one of my Sims families! But I turned the room behind the stairs into the kitchen and just added archways, that way I had space for a bigger dinning room area (put it where the original kitchen was).Love it, great job 😊

Kayla, I would love to see (once the pack comes out) what you would do if there weren't money/pack restrictions! Like your original idea before you had to delete things bc it was too expensive. It could be like a mini-series of all 3 of your builds! Or even your old builds for other packs!

You definitely got the feel of a rec center. I was feeling nostalgic watching that segment, thinking of the rec center I went to as a kid.

I think having such sparsely furnished starters is actually perfect because it feels so rewarding to upgrade the appliances and to get new furniture once the family has accumulated some money

Kind of shocked there hasn’t been a blue suburban officially in the sims yet 😮 Did they give you specifications on the size of the house (tile-wise, not bed/room wise)? The second you talked about deleting objects for budget, I thought of the classic lilsimsie tip “make the house smaller”.

I am honestly so excited for the rec center lot type. I've kind of been using libraries as that for a long time, so it's nice to finally have a dedicated space to put all the skill objects and things that don't always fit into a home lot.

I really like all 3 builds. Really, Kayla, you are an artist! It's right for you to be paid for the work you put into these builds. Your art is building for the sims, which you have a real gift for doing. I can't decide which build is my favorite. But I have at times wished for a rec center like there was in Colorado when I lived there. The rec center you built is just exactly that! A place for any activity. So many places I've lived, if there was a rec center it just is a place for swimming and sports. Yet I Colorado I was involved in art classes and crafting classes at our rec center. One thing I'm really looking forward to are the baby gates. That is such a big thing in life to block babies and toddlers from areas they should not go! I hope from what you said about elders today that this means game play for elders has improved. Although I know I will keep putting elders in my families because they make built-in baby sitters.

I was so excited to move into the blue suburban when I saw it was a 4br 3ba but it’s such a small lot that I ended up staying in willow creek

I'm surprised EA didn't make you downsize the blue suburban. You could have easily combined rooms and made other living spaces smaller to afford more actual pack items. It's a good build, just kind of has a weird vibe because the base game furniture is so clunky and dated, but then there's random pops of the new pack items, but not enough to where you feel like you're living in the new world they've made.

That starter home is exactly what I would want in a starter home for a large family. I don’t have to build any extra rooms, and it looks great and functions already, but as my family gets more money and we see everyone’s personality more, there is plenty of space to add or replace furniture.

I moved into the blue suburban home with my family, since I wanted to earn money and not cheat and all. I have to say I LOVE IT!! It’s just amazing and I was SO happy to finally have a nice and bigger home for my sims to start in. Funny to hear you made it since I am so extremely happy to have this. Tho I chose all the furniture and arranged the rooms myself, but this house is just everything. I love it

One thing I’d love as a long time viewer is if after the pack comes out and we all get to see this amazing build, you upload an alternate version of the lot to the gallery (still just base game and growing together) using the items that you would if you could have afforded it!!

thanks for reigniting my love of the sims. i kind of fell off of it after the holidays but then i watched your purple mansion for your not so berry legacy build video and it made me want to start playing with my 2 legacy families so that i'd have a reason to play in such a gorgeous build. and im really excited for the changes they're making to the game so i wanted to catch up

you should do an "update" video of how you would style this house without the price restriction. like the family has been living there for a while and come into money and gets to upgrade the bed or buy more toys etc. I'm definitely going to be playing with this house once the pack comes out and cant wait to update it with more of the new items (the treehouse!!)

This is my first time seeing this video and I just realized I moved my legacy sim into a Simsie house and didn’t even notice that it was simsie style till watching this. I thought it was just adorable and wanted to try out the new world after having just bought it. I’m so glad I’ve seen this and can enjoy the house even more.
