As a plant medicine lover I feel so SEEN!! And appreciative that you 2 went out on a limb to share this with the intention of allowing people to see themselves of having a choice if they're called to it is beautiful thank you, I love this podcast more now
❤ It’s nice that Sterling K. Brown and his lovely wife shared this with us… okay, I was trying to be a smart ass and then realized it a this him 😂😂😂 Honestly, it’s been hard to hold our space while more BIPOC find their way to medicine. I can’t wait for more Christians to find out about Manna ideology and just how close it is to Christianity, among other religions ❤
One of the reasons I moved from the East Coast to the West Coast was to experience spirituality outside of the black Christian norms I grew up with; the shame that comes with being different from your loved ones is a catalyst for positive change.
You was at church but learn nothing. you never had a relationship with the father. god is not weak as we are. he loving but he is not nice. If you looked at people for the answer then he show you nothing through man. you have to seek him. not the church. the church come after you relation with the lord. now what i ill say is some of the thing we do at the black church is not of him. but i read for my self. so i want be confuse by mans lack of knowledge
@@camillefelisbret9199 Gods blessings are not sweet like cate. They don't give you instant gratification. But in the long run with work your body become solid and heathy. seek god with out the influence of men and developed a relation with him. The one thing i know for sure in life is the bible never lied to me. especially the words of my lord. I am hoping that you find our father the right way this time. may god review his ways to you.
Black people stay with us. Black people forget our ancestors and even relatives now use plant medicine as spiritual healing. Spirit and or God flows within all of us, how can there not be more to that? I grew up black Baptist as well but i never agreed that there was only one way to worship or to have a connection to a higher power. I think shrooms is as far as my brain can handle but i always find it interesting the stories of people on ayhuasca and the releasing and readjusting perspective people have with it.
These Pagans who call themselves Christian are mentally distraught. Some even say this isn't in the Bible. It is. It's a plant. I bet they take them diabetes meds and eat that pork on schedule though. Lol
🗣️ I KNEW YOU WERE MY KINDA BLACK PEOPLE!!! As a JPB who grew up Southern Baptist, I wish all Black people understood that God has no religion, speaks every language, is in everything, and is meant for us to experience. Black people knew God before all the Abrahamic religions!!! The ancient wisdom of our ancestors must not be forgotten!!!
Yes...and I am practicing Catholic who's been reclaiming the stories of my ancestors. Turns out there was more in common in my Kikuyu (Kenyan tribe) religious practices and Catholicism than the colonizers taught us. There is room for both beliefs in my humble opinion
The one true God, Klablov, the great unicorn in the sky, put knowledge of his existence in the minds of all. All fake religions since created are ways for people to pretend they don't know he exists because they want to carry on sinning.
Thanks for sharing. This seems to be a spiritual ritual that can open doors to other spiritual manifestations and demonic activities that one may not be spiritually equipped to handle. For the inquisitive ones, be careful and seek God first before embarking on this spiritual journey. Pharmakeia (the use of drugs/plants for spiritual connection) can lead to sorcery. I will stick with the Lord Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit. You guys are an amazing duo! Your podcast is like being over for dinner and enjoying conversations with you! Personal and inviting! Looking forward to the next episode!
This. God’s word speaks against this. You shouldn’t have to do all that to experience God’s presence. Simply surrendering your life to Him and actively seeking Him daily will do that. I feel Ryan’s initial apprehension was the Holy Spirit warning her. I went to a spiritual ritual in Tulum once that was def demonic. I prayed for a hr straight in there bc I felt like I needed spiritual protection from God during it. Ignorance/deception will have people unknowingly giving the enemy dominion and authority in their lives.
😂😂 childdd stop If god created this earth and he created all living things some how it is bad. If god didn’t want us to have it and experience it it would be here. The fact that some of you choose to just take this and take that and leave that out even though God created everything that’s living even a spiritual plant calling it demons is crazy to me. Plants are there for humans to have best way to heal the spiritual stuff that you guys create in your heads with Christianity is man-made.
Thank you so much for this. I too grew up COGIC and have since studied many other belief systems. The further I get along in my journey, the more grateful I am for having been introduced to the Spirit through the church. I am also grateful I didn't get stuck there. In fact, when you study indigenous and African spiritual systems, you realize how much the Black church resembles in the outward expression of spiritual experience without the true knowledge of what is happening. I have also sat with other plant medicines, but not ayuasca yet. It is so important for Black people who have been so traumatized to reclaim our medicines that we have used for eons to heal. It is our birthright!
Christianity was practiced on the African continent for centuries before colonization and slavery. For example, Ethiopia wasn’t colonized and has been a Christian nation since before the 4th century. After the resurrection of Christ, Egypt was majority Christian before the Arabs invaded and made the country majority Muslim. There’s still a remnant, look up the coptics. There are also black people in the Bible. It’s been proven time and time again the Christianity is not a white religion. The Jude 3 Project has more info.
I love y’all so much for being authentic and honest. Ryan, you are becoming my best friend in my head. I have never heard of the medicine experience but if it was of spiritual enlightenment - I’m all for it!!! Your black cards are intact with me.
God loves the WORLD way more than you do. So much so that He gave His Son for unbelievers. That's the most inclusive and inviting religion in the world.
I’m hoping they do an episode on their reading lists. They always have great book recommendations and I’ve read a couple that are on the coffee table on the set.
Not all Black people are tethered to Christianity. We have always sought various modalities on our journey to spiritual enlightenment. Especially prior to our enslavement and colonization.
@@heartdonations2532there’s a lot of old west African religions that still have ties to today. With a little research you can find out. I personally think about Gina Lyashere’s references to ‘the spirits’ and reincarnation, which she learned from her Nigerian family, as a form of this. Who knows how many more there were from the other countries that we could find probably out. Don’t forget: just because we’re not there now doesn’t mean those nation’s citizens didn’t write hundreds of years of informant that we have access too.

Real talk… you two are my new favorite people on the planet! I bounced over for the first time yesterday, after enjoying This Was Us…. Wasn’t sure I wanted a “couple’s take” on whatever, but I am now a super fan and I am ALL IN! I can’t put these episodes down. Y’all have me cackling and crying simultaneously … every single time. Bless and keep you both and your beautiful family. More content Michelle Yeoh style…. Everything, Everywhere All at Once. ❤️
This episode is reassuring for me as a Christian who has experienced several levels of communication and understanding in my walk with Thee Almighty Most HighGod. I have not been moved to experience the medicine that you have but I am familiar. Various close family members have indulged in the practice. Indigenous spirituality, both here in the Americas, as well as on the continent of Africa, feeds my spirituality. I love y’all. Most of all I love your honesty. I feel safe when I watch your show because you express and reveal such a high level of love for one another. It is nourishing. I am a fan. 🙏🏽
🙏🏾 God is in EVERYTHING. RU-vid presented me with your show shortly after my morning meditation, hmm. Thank you for sharing and the way that you did was very thoughtful. My journey to grandmother followed a similar path as yours and it was profound, life changing, etc. I’ve shared the experience with those who I know won’t judge. However, I’m seeing that it’s selfish of me to not share wholeheartedly, because there’s likely someone who could benefit from my experience. That’s what you folks have done with this episode. Strong work, continued success with the show and beyond. You’ve got a new subscriber 🙏🏾
Appreciate you sharing. Ayahuasca being presented as medicine and not as a drug is a reach, though. It literally takes people to different dimensions or causes them to hallucinate, like MDMA and Shrooms, which are drugs. It's a common theme that people are not accepting the Bible as the only way to connect with God, but for those of us who do believe that God's Word is enough, God's word never mentions anyone needing to take anything like this to get closer to Him or to have an encounter or to understand the meaning of life. While there are some crazy churches out there, there are ones that actually teach the Bible, encourage you to search it for yourself, fast and pray, connect with God and worship in your own time so that it's truly a relationship with Him. The means at which to get to God is believing that Jesus is your Lord and Savior. No hallucinogens needed.
Thank you both for sharing your stories because it brings about so much healing for us! We laugh, we learn, and we leave feeling inspired to be our most authentic self. ❤
I AM DRIVING HOLLERING LAUGHING!!!!!!! IM SURE PEOPLE ARE LOOKING AT ME LIKE SIS YOU GOOD!!!😂😂😂😂😂 I just love y’all. I promise Im praying this podcast makes it world wide!!! God bless you both❤
Wow, this was a lot! I’ll stick with Jesus and one on one therapy. Don’t want to be open to spirits that my body being the temple of the Holy Spirit is designed for.
The little you Shared about your experience Ryan. Has changed my life! I never thought of good as a feminine or motherly energy! And I have been on this earth for 30 years. I could have died not knowing to talk to GOD not just as a man. So thank you!
It's amazing that most of them go to the sick doctor and readily consume any poison that prescribed to them, no questions asked. But when one seeks to be healthy they are witches. It's hilarious. Same folks whith a Christmas tree in their home.
Love yall!! Fuuuunnnnnyyyy! Next time yall go; come get me! I’m down! As someone raised in the church, actively engaged and indoctrinated in its practices; this was so refreshing as I too have had those existential moments with spiritual identity and God! So needed!
I loved this episode! Thank you for sharing your truths in such a purely transparent way. No black cards revoked 😂 Y’all are hilarious and I love it all!
Guyssssssss! I love y'all even moreeeeee for this! I grew up uber-Christian as well: southern Baptist. Went to a good school. Corporate executive foreverrrrr. Now I'm an astrologer, hypnotist, tarot reader, regularly meditate (studying Won Buddhism now) and have done 'shrooms a few times to take an inner journey. We're all connected and born to shine in our own way.✨ Also, my Toastmasters group's word of the day was "metaphysical," so +1 for Ryan!
I love how open-minded and honest the pair of you are! I, too, have been on a spiritual journey and came across Ayahuasca some years ago. Had not heard about it since then, and I have yet to try it. I would like to, but I am a bit afraid to go through with it. Thank you for the transparency of your experiences!❤
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I too have sat with 'Huasca and felt similar in my journey. Needing to surrender. The presence of divine feminine. Closer to nature and God. Loving the podcast! 💯
This was great to watch. I heard about this medicine and it sounds so intense. I’m happy it helped the two of you. You guys are always very entertaining.
Every one who have breath can have salvation but if you die still in love with your sin. it will not be granted to you. repentance is required for salvation. people use the phrase "god know your heart." but because he know your heart he knows your evils. so tell every one salvation is averrable if your willing to fight against sin.
I think black women always check to make sure we have an exit just in case s*it pops off. I love that you guys are showing our community that they can be open to these experiences
I experimented too but was too apprehensive to do Ayuhuasca! Love to see it. Yall are refreshing and musing as heaven to watch. Exploration within safe paramaters is key. The critical thinking needed for these conversations is definitely appreciated
Nah…I’ve been prepping myself to be ready to take ayahuasca for the first time, and now I want my husband to have this experience with me so that we can grow through it all together, this is great insight, and I’ve been looking for reviews for this for a while and you 2 popped up with the topic, specifically as a married couple, so I will take this a positive sign 💪🏾 Always rooting for spiritual and soul growth, I was raised Christian and religion is man made…Jesus was a Jew lol and just as you mentioned earlier, there are rituals performed in the Christian church all of the time just like eating the flesh and drinking the blood of Jesus, theoretically of course, lol so yeah the one thing we KNOW is that there’s a creator of all and we are all apart of that creator, our universe and souls are much more than we’ve been made to understand. Great content 💪🏾👏🏽👏🏽
Loved this talk. I had an equally amazing experience at Rhythmia, the only time I’ve ingested Aya ❤ So many beautiful moments of reflection and exploration that is important for our communities to see 😊
Beautiful story Sterling 😊. Also love that Ryan (I believe) has visited the idea that Christianity came after these indigenous cultural practices so there’s a chant that some of the practices were inspired by older traditions and people ❤
REAL tears. I'm crying REAL TEARS. 🤣😭😂😭😭😭This was a GREAT introduction to Ryan and her Mr. (as I know THE Sterling K. Brown, Actor Extraordinaire). Subscribed!
All I could imagine was when Martin went to that retreat and had the half fro , half cornrows😂 Thanks for sharing! I love your storytelling and interaction.
Love this episode! I feel like it’s important to show the spectrum of what our religious and spiritual relationships can look like as a Black person. Power to yall!
I was meant to find this video. One, ya'll my people...and is Agape is my place of virtual fellowship and worship. I have already scheduled my visit to Rythmia and needed this confirmation of my choice of doing this. Now, I am so looking forward to it! Many, many thanks!
I love y’all and so glad yall started this podcast. I’ve been wanting to take an ayahuasca trip for some years now and just have been patiently waiting for God’s timing. Looking forward to the transformation. Not sure I’d could convince my husband to join me but he’d travel there with me. Love your hair sis. Styled perfectly for your face shape.
While God loves everyone and can accept everyone. He will never accept everything we do! If we are to be like Jesus : He wasn't gay, he wasn't a drunk, he wasn't a womanizer etc.. God said that we shall have no other God except me so there can't be many ways of getting to him nor worshipping him. He said come as you are so he can change us (in love) so we can leave a different way. IJS😊
I found my tribe!!! ✨😁 Thank you so much for this, ALL of it 🥰 from "Svetlana" to "I'm the nigga that died"😆 Thank you for sharing your journey as a couple ♥️
That’s why God is truly omnipresent. For Ryan he came to her in a way that she didn’t know she needed (feminine). He meets us where we are in that sense and where we can actually understand. If he would have shown up as “himself” (masculine) so to speak, she probably wouldn’t have been fully open or would have had a hard time receiving what he wanted her to see/feel, for her OWN spiritual growth. I think we have to give God more credit. He is not subject to one form, nor one approach, he made us. When you realize that God is Indeed everything, you see the world not only in its vastness but how unique it is.
I love that this is how I found out yall have a podcast. My wife and I are going to watch this together- two Black folk who don’t typically get into white ppl ish, yet did plant Medicine assisted therapy and it changed our marriage and our lives! Haven’t done ayuhasca but curious.
Maaaaannnnnn I can't get enough of you two! Ryan, I thought you'd be more open (than Sterling) after watching the last few episodes and getting to know you a bit more. Regardless, I absolutely respect the information you provided 🤎 Lmao when Ryan wanted to end the episode after Sterling's experience 🤣🤣🤣
How quickly I click on y'alls channel. We never know what we're gonna get! Loved this episode! I've loved all of them but can't say I would have ever been ready for this! I'm here for all of it!
So happy that I crawled from under the rock and found you guys. What an interesting introduction to your podcast and I must say, I Loved It. I've always wondered about psychedelics. Thanks so much for sharing and making laugh repeatedly!!
Very interesting. I think God is all you need. God is everything and with God you do not need any enhancer(s). Only the Holy Ghost. Huasca, Weed or Hot Sauce. God and God only. NO winners, there was an agreement. Beautiful. Keep thinking, keep loving, keep sharing,
I understand finding the balance and I love it; however. I just think you can’t believe in Jesus and not the Bible and Jesus being the only way to Heaven. Hey I may be wrong but if I’m wrong I’ve only wasted my life , but if others are wrong they’ve wasted their eternity.
Certainly appreciate you guys’s transparency in sharing this. And I’m glad I’m not the only one who sees stuff and thinks “that’s white people shxt man I ain’t doing that.”
Thanks for this interesting share! I appreciate going against the grain and sharing your experience. I think this was good, and definitely had its funny moments!!
YOU TWO ARE AWESOME! BUUUUUUUUUT, COULD IT BE THAT TWO HIGHLY INTELLIGENT PEOPLE GOT REALLY HIGHHHH! AND THAT IS NOT TO BE INSULTING, BUT JUST A THOUGHT. LOL
