What was that whole bit on Apple's income being 260 billion from the App Store? Misleading if not entirely false! Apple's REVENUE for 2019 was 260 billion, and that's for all apple products and services, most of which is still iPhone! They never break out App Store revenue by itself, but according to this CNBC article its probably around 15 billion revenue, meaning their income, or gross profit, would be lower than that.
It's grossly overvalued.. the net income margin was 21% meaning the P/E ratio of the company is around 40.. so basically, market said they're fine with getting 40 years break even point.. lol
@@l96aiDetermining a companies valuation from a P/E ratio is such an unrealistic way of determining value. Doesn't factor in earnings power and growth at all. Discounted cash flow is at best a more reasonable tool to ''value' a company. Which is literally how private buyers of businesses value companies. Heck if you were to use a multiple at all, use an enterprise multiple or acquirers multiple. But still has the same problem as a P/E ratio. It doesn't factor in growth.

Yeah really I’ve had cancer twice in last 10 years and hit a deer on a dirt bike at 70 breaking 7 ribs, shoulder blade and cutting spleen. So I have had every type of scan they have more then enough to know. MRI scans do take a little while though I usually just take a little power nap lol. It does take 30 minutes or so.. Facebook has nothing to do with the length of my scans and they will not get any thanks from me anytime soon.. imo they should be sending us checks for making billions off our data. I been using lockdown app for awhile now and it’s insane how many trackers it blocks I’m well over a million blocked in 6 months or so. Facebook and google will get blocked up to 20-40 times a minute when using certain apps..
It takes time depending where you want it if it’s just for brain or specific body parts then it takes less time (20~30 mins) but for whole body it takes easily 1 hour...
Netflix and Prime don‘t get special treatment. From any subscription Apple takes 30% and after the first year (? I can’t remember ?) it cuts to 15, or 10% idk.
@@matthewbitter532 And what does it concern YOU? Epic has shown before that the cuts go only to the CEO's pockets. BD3 devs didn't even receive the bonuses that were promised to them which are a BIG part of their pay(without them, they are literally underpaid compared to everyone else).
@@MyCrafcik I want Epic to win this fight not for them, but for all the others in the App Store. For example, Floatplane currently cannot even exist on iOS and Apple is trying to strong-arm them into categorically increasing their margin everywhere just so they can pay the 30% Apple tax. This has to stop. I hope the end result of this situation turns out to be a "choose your app store" dialog, similar to how Microsoft was forced to do "choose your browser" back in the day.
@@MyCrafcik So, because Epic sucks does mean that Apple is being fair? Almost every game developer has it's kinks or issues (glassdor anyone?), but doesn't mean that could be great for other developers. Check the WAN Show where Luke says how floatplane is being denied and even damages because all transactions has to be through Apple means, and also doesn't allow to charge more to break even.
I mean it is their store they can do what they want epic games is kind of being a Karen if I personify the company. Imagine that you walk into a store the store charge a extra tax it looks high but everyone else is paying it but then one person doesn’t want to pay the tax because it is too high and calls the manager then causes a scene
I just downloaded FS 2020 from the Microsoft Store for "free" since I have game pass. It's buggy right now, despite the extensive alpha testing, but it's not bad. Graphics are great. Flies well. Audio probably should have been recorded inside actual aircraft so they didn't sound like they were breaking apart which is absolutely not what real planes sound like from the flight deck while taxiing, and the stat tracking and achievements are all way out of whack making up whatever the hell they want right now and contradicting each other, but it's a good game.
*sigh* Repeat after me; "Steam has a 2 hour *no questions asked* refund policy" That said, it is good that MS is being called out on this particular situation.
It also takes most people more than 2 hours just to download the rest of Flight Simulator before they can start playing it, because the Steam launcher just launches the Windows Store version
I don't understand the point of your comment, no one is arguing against the 2 hour return policy in general, people have problems with a game requiring more assets to be downloaded before it can be played and the time taken to download those assets counts as playtime for the game, which ruins the point of the 2 hour window, since several gigabytes of assets in order to play the game can take quite a long time for people who don't pay for gigabit internet speeds.
@@00SNIVY00 Neither am I; just the fact that each and every single time they phrase it as if you can't return your games after those 2 hours. Which is factually wrong. From the very first time they mentioned this policy to every subsequent video I haven't seen them (and many others) once acknowledge that even past the 2 hour and 2 weeks windows it is still possible to get a refund. As I said; "it is good that MS is being called out on this particular situation." but I'm still correcting their factual mistake. One that they have made repeatedly, hence " *sigh* "
Pro Tip for folks having download issues with FS 2020: If you get stuck for a long period of time on one of the FS Packages, close the window, delete the .PART file it was hung on and resume the app again. Don't waste 2 hours like I did assuming it was a speed issue.
I think Sonos and Apple are very similar companies in terms of business model. In terms of hardware it is utter crap, so it is cheap to produce in masses, but because they can get the software right, they still sound decent. Decent if you ignore the fact that it isn't even stereo mostly. Just like Apple, it is cheaper to invest 10 million to write great software and spread the costs over millions of devices than to simply equip it with a better driver that you have to install in every device. That is what makes it more a software oriented company than hardware, which sounds odd with speakers. I guess because they focus on software, they want low transaction costs, as they can charge for additional features for the Sonos system. Just like Tesla: you have to buy an additional fee to use hardware that is already installed in your car. It is not a nice business model, but it is very smart and profitable. In fact it is not too original: Bose did a similar thing. They invested a lot in research to push crappy drivers to their limits. Bose speakers sound awesome to my humble opinion, even though you get inferior hardware than competitors offer for less money. They already applied this business model in the 80's.
@@van0tot100 I agree Sonos is a software company their ease of use is the premium quality. What do you mean additional feature cost? Sonos don't have anything you can buy except hardware. Sure I wish I had BlueSound instead of Sonos but they weren't around at the time. I saw a Bose soundbar with tiny like 2" drivers move a lot and deliver bass they should be able to and still sound decent.
@@marcusm5127 Not yet, but why do you think Sonos is complaining? Software is probably in which they think they can grow the most. They can also introduce some subscription service for their speakers, so you can lease them. I just think Sonos wants to get the issue with the excessive costs for app transactions out of the way, so they can develop in this direction. I have Bose myself, and it is an audio set that is over 30 years old. It sounds pretty awesome, quite similar to what they sell now. Even thought the drivers are small, my neighbour really wasn't happy. I had to put rubber around the subwoofer so you cannot see some waves going on in his teacup.
I mean, they are making 260 billion per year with it. like put all that toward something good instead of transferring it between like 100 different countries bank accounts to avoid US taxes and leaving it in a bank in Ireland forever.
