I had Panic Attack Symptoms without Panic. What caused them?

Panic attacks can cause some strange symptoms like dizziness, derealisation, problems breathing, a racing heart, ears ringing, blurred vision and nausea. But I recently experienced nausea, ringing in the ears, dizziness and derealisation without having a panic attack. So what caused me to have these symptoms and how is it linked to panic attacks or anxiety. In this video I explain what causes these panic attack symptoms.

This is such an underrated channel, 2 months ago I had my first and worst panic attack in my life, I was sent to the ER bc I thought I was dying. I found these videos about a month ago and they have really helped me. Thank you !

Hi Martin, thanks for sharing your experience. I went through something myself only last night at 3.30am. I live with and manage a gall bladder with too many stones and last night I was awoken by a sharp pain that quickly passed, I suspect a stone had escaped! My anxiety kicked in and I began to have panic thoughts, dizziness and feeling 'spacey'. I've recently been watching your videos on health anxiety which have been really useful so I was able to recognise the effects that adrenalin could be having on my body and thoughts. I got up, made a cup of tea, watched some gardening videos and gave my system a chance to recover and returned to bed. A few months back I would have been too afraid to sleep again and it's felt good to witness my progress in action. My gall bladder's a bit sore today but that's OK, it's just a sign that I need to watch my eating habits again. I'm very grateful for your videos and look forward to the next one. 🌼

Thanks Martin. I have GAD and ADHD. It’ll be great if you can create a video giving more insight about derealisation. I have episodes quite frequently and they occur out of the blue even when I’m not in a high state of anxiety - which makes it all the more worse. They are very unnerving and often send me into an anxiety cycle as it feels like I’m actually loosing my mind/control.

I have the lightheaded feeling all day everyday. It happened previous and I was told it was anxiety. It’s hard to accept it this time and I worry constantly about my heart and my circulation. I’ve seen my doctor just last Friday she said she didn’t see a problem with the symptoms I shared, but I still don’t feel like it’s just anxiety. Health Anxiety is a curse…

You're approach from your own experience is what rings true. One of the main reasons I get when trying to help someone is, "You don't understand. You aren't experiencing what I am.", your experience based approach begins to break down the resistance. I'm just a regular ol' person trying to live a good life and the videos you present help me to attempt to help others...thank you. ✌️

Hi Martin! I am so glad I still see your videos pop up from time to time. After having overcome depression and anxiety (incl derealisation + panic + general health anxiety) I am doing really nice but sometimes I chatch myself having a symptom or two but I dont bury myself into them anymore and just accept them for the time being knowing they wont last. Everything you mention in your videos is spot on and I am just happy to have this reminder once in a while that symptoms can occur without a disease. You helped me out immensely. Thak you.

Your self hypnosis guide was so effective, I have to be careful not to fall asleep while applying it since it happened more than once. I could never fall asleep during the day so I had to make sure I do them before bed time or close around. Honestly I was very sceptical but it really works. Haven't had any attacks since weeks but I guess I should be glad because they started since only a few months anyway. Those who have it worse, I root for you guys! You can learn to control this!

Hi Martin. Your videos are the best. Thank you for all the information and advice. Could you do more on the dizziness and lightheaded feelings please, as these are a massive issue for me. I am afraid to drive and go back to work because of these scary experiences.

Not always...but sometimes, bodily harm, or sometimes even just thinking about such scenarios, for Me, can initial Vasovagal reaction. In my opinion, its form of body panic.

I was house bound 3yrs ago,Even though I've been on my recovery and living life now from anxiety and do normal things I still can't get over going to certain stores ,even though I don't feel anxious I feel nonspinning dizziness while in the store but as soon as I'm out I'm fine???

@@sanchez4500. Even tho you don’t feel anxious in the stores, your brain remembers and is still sensitized. Continue going to those stores and just accept the dizziness without being afraid of it. This will teach your brain that you’re safe there…and the dizziness will eventually subside. Anyway, that’s my humble opinion. Good luck!

With beta blockers?...they didn't work to good for Me tho. So...maybe decreasing your sensitization. By working on decreasing amount of fear, and fight or flight reaction in you life. By working on lifes circumstances, that silently agitating you.

I don't know but have been trying to solve it on a personal level. Identity your triggers, be prepared for the worst, desensitize, meditation, meds (each person is different common anxiety meds.) , microdosong pot, or CBD if not severe. Pain, injury, illness, fear of helplessness. Monitor breathing you can tell if it's building sometimes over the course of a few days. Sleep deprivation, stress, social or job stress problems with managers, job interviews, and tests. Problems in marriage or courting, can be high stress situations.. these can be mitigated. Overdoing workouts too much can cause panic attacks although a little is a big help..just don't overdo it. Too much partying too. Getting behind on essential tasks as well..
