I had the most amazing encounter in Vancouver the other night. 

I assume most folks just became an Ian Noe fan thanks to Jason Momoa. I just became a Jason Momoa fan thanks to Ian Noe

I was born in Appalachia and this man sings for the mountains and the folks in it. My parents moved to Canada when I was 3 years old. Now I'm a southern boy living way up north the mountains here might be bigger but the spirit is still the same. I'm from west Virginie but grew up in the rockies of British Columbia. Ian Noe is the voice of the people.

This isn't country. It's FOLK!!! The boy is a great player, and is channeling Guthrie high wide and handsome. I'm old enough to remember when this kind of music was all over. Now, not so much. I hope people get interested in this genre again. Thank you, Jason for giving this youngster some air time.

Reminds me of the years of collecting folksongs in the Blue Ridge with my parents, saving the musical gems before the old people who sang them passed beyond. Wish Jason Momoa had found me during the years I played and taught on the folky circuit, living out of my car with a hyperactive child and seven dogs. Misplaced in time.
