I had hoped to continue my ride across India from Hyderabad, but that was not possible because of the lockdown restrictions in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. We had to think on our feet and come up with an alternate plan to get ourselves and the motorcycles to Northern India. Also, I learnt this the hard way, but please do not ever transport your motorcycle by Indian Railways - they managed to damage my Xpulse 200 quite badly in and were absolutely remorseless about it.

I have gone through this and I know the pain. Parcelled my bullet 350 classic from Delhi - Kolkata. Fare was around Rs. 2200. Broken parts I notice when I received and unwrapped in Kolkata station 1.Headlight Broken 2. Headlight Cap broken 3. 2 dents in Fuel tank 4. Rear No. plate was folded and as soon as I corrected it, it broked. 5. Both Rear indicator broken. 6. Handle was bent lil bit. and few minor scratches. replaced all above items with new one and adjusted with few minor scratches. After analysing my bike I took a oath never f**king parcel anything from Indian railways . After a year I cameback to Delhi and choosed different Transportation(Truck) to deliver my bike. Costed me around 8k (a bit expensive) but I felt relief & happy after receiving my bike without any scratches or any dent.

Disgusted, heart broken. They have no regard for someone's personal property, and on top of that we were all excited and took this new bike in to our community like a newborn baby. I've heard of broken handle bars, caved in fuel tanks, dislodged engines, flat tires and all kinds of horrors stories with the railways. Just sad ! You should make a detailed video about this incident. Hope to see rover back in good shape.

Even though ur bike is slightly damaged, I am happy that u found a way to continue travelling. Gud luck brother. Keep travelling and keep inspiring. I transported my bike about 500 km via railways and they were so careless with it. They broke my front brake lever. It was so evident that these people were handling my bike carelessly. Feeling angry and sad at the same time. Always been pessimistic about sending bikes through railways and also through logistics also. Have seen many videos showing damages in trains and in logistics also. 2 out of 10 have chance of getting damaged and if you unfortunately in that 2 places then you are gone. Glad its in riding condition. So many times wanted to send bike by parcel to skip long highways and travel in the destination but these kind of carelessness have always stopped me. All the best for the travel ahead Rohith😇

I've transported two of my bikes long-distance via private transport companies (I'm tempted to mention their names, but...), and on both occasions the bikes turned up at the destination with multiple broken/damaged parts. It wasn't cheap, either - Kolkata to Goa for my AS200 cost around 12k last year, and the bike arrived 6 weeks late. One can blame the pandemic for the delay, but not for the damage. I maintain my bikes meticulously, and it's always heartbreaking to see them damaged through no fault of mine. I know how you feel. However, we are a resilient lot. I'm assuming you're either headed for Nepal - now that the pan-India plan stands demolished - or westwards towards Uttarakhand or Himachal. If you're headed east, I can highly recommend the Siliguri to Guwahati stretch - did that last year... what a road! All the best for the rest of your ride.

There were 2 KTM RC and a duke. We removed mirrors and other stuff that could be potentially broken but frankly there were too many things that could go wrong. We were extra cautious while packing. Once the train left the station we came upto the luggage compartment to see how things were ( we were travelling in the same train) and then to our horror on a particular station we found there were bikes loaded above our bikes😐 yeah when we reached bangalore the obviating has already happened. I still can't believe you look so calm and composed even after seeing those damaged. This is the second such incident I am seeing with a shipped bike in recent past. Is this option even reliable and safe at all ? Why take such risk? Do they pay any compensation or its a part of the dotted line on which we sign 🤔

I think u will enter Nepal, since u are in Gorakhpur. If u do so, i advise u to go to a place called Kyanjin Gompa. Its 5/6hrs ride from Ktm to Syabrubesi, and then u have to trek for 12/13 hrs divided into 2 days. Kyanjin gompa is so beautiful, it will blow your mind, and i guarentee u about that. I am sure u have not visited such a beautiful valley in your lifetime. If you are not sure about that place google Kyanjin Gompa before leaving. GoodLuck.
