Hey Brad just started watching the channel and build. Just a heads up that you might want to check the fireplace manual on the spray foam insulation. Some manufacturers don’t allow spray foam due to the off gassing it can create if it heats up. Some don’t even allow it when it’s covered with the appropriate materials. We do a bunch of installations as I own and operate a Hearth & Outdoor Living store.

Another fantastic update video on Andrew and Macy's home. I have faith in ya that you'll meet the date. It's fun to hear you and Tom go back and forth. He's a very talented guy, that's for sure. The ceiling in the kitchen is going to be breathtaking. That is a shame about the fireplace, but I have no doubt it'll get fixed up and put back together beautifully. The fireplaces that were done look amazing. I don't mind the vent on the outside fireplace. The man-cave is going to be great too. It's coming along beautifully. It's a shame that you have to swap out that cabinet, but you have a great solution. I'd be tempted to shave the amount of space you need off the end of the drawer and call it done, haha. Then again, that's why you are the master and I get to sit back and watch! I'd love to see you go back to the missile silo to look at the work that Beefcake Construction LLC did and hear what you have to say about it! Speaking of updates, I hope we get to see an update on the mansion you had to get Eugeno out to do some demolition and re-construction. Nice to hear you got away for a couple days to Vegas. Don't blame them for not liking that metal box on the outside fireplace. Couldn't a vent free fireplace been used instead? Can't even put an outdoor tv there to cover it as it gets hot. Maybe build a stone covered box that you can make the top and bottom open so air can flow.

@Brad, you have a lot going on there and now the headaches are happening; remember to keep your head up and keep pushing thru. I cant imagine the amount of stress you come under with the contractors and timelines and products being behind in shipping etc. I have to say I wouldnt be cut out for your job at all. The fire place with the spray foam, id contact the company directly and see if spray foam can even be near it or how many inches it has to be away from it, as its a matter of it getting hot and then burning and creating gases etc as well. Im sure youve already checked into it but its a very good thing you caught it. People dont realize small things like that could really be dangerous in the long run, so thats a fantastic catch. Still waiting to see the leak in the gun room resolved and if you found its entry point. Im sure as it rains in the spring it might be easier to find. Again it might help with the infrared camera or a scope and scan the walls and concrete for warm and cool zones. I wish u all the best, keep your head up thru the hiccups and you and your crew are doing a fantastic job, its coming along quickly now.

I have been in the construction industry for 25 years and its cool to see how similar the situations you have on your projects happened at my jobsites. I think you will be done with Flair's house 2 days before the deadline. But waiting on a CO

As for the vent on that outside fireplace, you could always get an "artist" or just a good metal fabricator to build something from metal that would replace that shiny square metal cover that goes over the vent. For instance, I can picture deer standing in an opening with woods/trees and mountain tops behind them and there can be a section protruding out in the center like 3D art. And it being made of metal it would be fine over the vent. Heck, make the main mountain over the vent into a volcano so that on really cold nights the steam from the vent will come out of the top of it. lol. This is where my brain goes when I see things like that vent. lol.

How about as an option for the man cave wall, putting the reclaimed wood at a 45° angle instead of vertical or horizontal. Had a wall in a old house I lived in that had something similar and always liked the look.

Brad The Builder I think it would look cool if you did both vertical and horizontal on the reclaimed wood wall it definitely would give it a unique look that definitely would end up looking really good ,The lighted hat rack you should get color changing lights for it for incase Flair wanted to change up color and could be able to change up each shelf a different color it definitely would look cool. The wood plank ceiling in the kitchen is definitely going to look off Flair definitely should’ve vetoed everyone and keep the wood beams so it would go with the flow of the house it definitely would look alot better since there are wood beams throughout the whole house. I definitely don’t think yal will meet the end of March deadline.

Mantle is too low. Check out tv mount made by a Company called Mantle Mount. It allows you to pull the tv out and down over the mantle. They make a motorized also. I love mine.

That's too bad you have to redo part of the fireplace but I'm sure it will go back together just like a big old puzzle.

I'm a 22 year old painter have been helping my dad since a kid and actually working since 15 just curious how long did it take you to find your painters and how many paint crews do you use also how many good painters is there in your area are they scarce and they're lucky that the dry wall guys actually fix there mistakes we end up having to fix all those highs and lows cracks any imperfections it's tedious but I can honestly say I love my job I wanna buy and fix my own houses one day my dad does what you do but he's a painter as well well that's what he says anyway 😂

You should look into using timberstrand studs on cabinet walls and plates would make for a super straight wall

Did I hear correctly that you said it was treated reclaimed lumber going up in the man cave ? Does treated mean it was impregnated with bug repellent ? I use that for building a retaining wall a long time ago. We were told to wear gloves and to try not to breathe the sawdust as we cut the boards to size. If that's the kind of "treated" it is, can you use it inside ? Inquiring minds want to know. 🤔🎺 FYI, twenty years later the wall is still standing and straight ! 👍 It even survived the San Simeon earthquake years ago.

Don't like the direct vent fireplace. Been in the heating business and from my experience all direct vent systems come with problems. Fumes, wall blackens.

The job site isn't the only sketchy part if they can't drive on the job site they can't drive on any of the roads to get to the job site

You shouldn’t have to trim a door in new construction EVER at all….As long as everything is framed right, a good carpenter doesn’t need to trim down a door, instead take your time to hang it correctly, again new construction you shouldn’t be trimmed down door slabs. Hang it right. Unless the door wasn’t made right

Why not just swap location of handle on Garbage shoot door? Seems very inefficient to order, remove and install new cabinets for something so simple.
