Take the colored socks off the dye in the socks stops your toe from healing and wear slides for awhile to give your foot a break. Where white socks or no socks and cover it loosely with a bandage to keep dirt off of your toe. Soak it every night with hot to warm water and epsom salts. That will take care of the soreness and help the antibiotic be more effective.

Slim needs to pour some peroxide on his toe to get all that stuff out of his toe and he needs to stop wearing socks and Tennis Shoes for a lil while.. My favorite couple ❤💙

Tea Tree Oil. Put on a qTip and rub around the toe twice a day after soaking

increase your intake of Vit C to boost immune system and healing factor. if what doc said is true the destroyed flesh is still recovering and will take awhile to fully heal. if pain gets worse get 2nd opinion. give toe as much oxygen and open air until it stops leaking.

My son had the same issue with his toe. I purchased some slides for him to wear so the toe can breathe.

Man you need some good tea tree oil. I use that for EVERYTHING!!!!! Works magic. Stink like crazy but is worth the smell!!!

Slim needs to get a second opinion. The toe drainage should be sent to the lab to identify the correct microorganism that is causing the infection. Once the culture come back the correct antibiotic can be prescribed The antibiotics that you have been given may not be effective because it is not sensitive to treating the correct organism causing the infection ask your doctor about the cultures if your toe does not get better

They were supposed to put some type of scrub looking stuff inside where the nail is if they removed your ingrown toe nail, and your supposed to wrap it up for a week or two to let it heal and not wet it. And then after the nail heals, continue to get pedicures on a weekly basis to prevent it from getting stuck to your skin. I got both of my ingrown nails removed on both side of my big toes. And constantly stay consistent with pedicures to avoid the nail sticking to the skin. Hope this helps 🙏🏾

It's not that he's not a good doctor, but there could be something going on with your toe that he hasn't experienced yet, where as someone else has. Hope that it heals up soon!! Slim i know your pain I went through the same thing with my left toe my junior and senior year in high school. Seems like every 4 months I was back at the foot doctor having my foot worked on. He finally took over half my nail off and I didn't have any more trouble. Ingrown toenails are of the devil.

I had the same procedure on my big toe years ago, it was a one time procedure in and out once. He made sure to cut all of the ingrown nail out. Plus it was a certain angle that he cut as well to correct the regrowth pattern of the nail. It should have definitely healed up by now if it was done correctly.

Try covering it with a lace cloth & Sometimes open wounds can’t heal properly because it’s open to debri & pollution in the air which is naturalAnd it also brings healing to our limbs from what we eat healthy. Even though it’s a small wound infections can also come from weak immune system and healing is decreased. Building our immune system always helps fight infection. Alkaline diets , detox, and, lots of water should help.

Hey guys! Love your show!😀 with regard to the toe situation… as a person that spent months in the hospital due to a gnarly leg and foot infection with gangrene, I learned quite a bit about wound care. First, IMHO, I think you should get a second opinion. Secondly, when you go to the doctor ask him/her for clobetasol propionate and iodisorb ointment. The clobetasol is a steroid cream that will take care of the swelling and oozing, and iodisorb is like betadine in cream form that will help dry up the puss and help keep the wound clean. You can use them both at the same time. Then use a 2x2 gauze pad to cover the wound and then use a xlarge bandaid to keep the gauze in place. You would do that treatment once a day after soaking your foot in salt water. Provided you don’t have any allergies to the meds I mentioned, it should help heal the area. I hope that helps! You gotta keep it packed with silvadine ointment and cover with a bandaid when having socks on I’ve had 3 ingrown toe nails taken out and keeping it cover from your socks is the most important and ware flops with no socks as much as u can to let it dry out

My toe was the EXACT same way after I stubbed it on the corner of the table. It was bad, I couldn't even put socks on without feeling discomfort. Literally took 1 year and 4 months to go back to normal.

Slim, put some peroxide on it and keep applying it until it stops turning white. Do this everyday until the swelling and pain goes away.

No socks and remember your feet sweat with socks, which increases the risk for infection or a good place for bacteria to chill with an healing wound. I would recommend if you must wear socks then clean your toe as the doctor stated but you can put iodine solution (Betadine) over the wound to give the toe a slight, protective barrier. Vaseline is also a good option vs. Neosporin.

My youngest son had an ingrown toenail and I took him to the doctor so they could remove it and they had me soak his foot twice a day in water and peroxide so it wouldn't get infected. No socks and no shoes for two weeks and it healed up, no oral antibiotics need. I did use Neosporin on it twice a day as well.
