I gave up on HD2 when the nerfs got out of hand around april/may they buffed hordes/patrols on lower player count and took away magazines per gun the game became more frustrating than fun i got the platinum and shelved the game my friends did the same. Theres way to many enemies at once for them to lower ammo count
so much for them slowing down with the nerfing 😂 honestly this game started to slowly die when Sony did the stupid account thing a couple months back so I think the game needs a total overhaul and stop nerfing things and just let us be the badass soldiers we wanna be
They fumbled this game so damn hard. Instead of building of their success and what made players attracted to this game and made it so fun they think they should continue with their own moronic plan of nerfing guns because they think it’s best for the game.
That drop (10k) was a single event. Most of the time it is around 50k . But seriously, Helldivers 2 feels like an accidental success . Sony doesn't seem to know what to do with it . They keep making one good step forward then 3 steps backwards
@@Assassin0Ninja That PSN account link requirements sure axed plenty of support and good faith. Sony truly needs new management and HQ relocating soon.
Helldivers 2 succeeded in being just as, if not even more predatory than a Ubisoft game! 🤷 At least when you pay $5 for a skin pack in a Ubisoft game, you get it immediately, while in Helldivers 2 you have to pay $10 just to be ELIGIBLE TO EARN SEASONAL REWARDS! After you pay that $10, you have to grind hell and back for tons of medals just to unlock the stuff one by one, which takes EASILY over 10 hours of gameplay of doing the same repetitive missions over and over! It's one of the most predatory games I've ever played! And don't tell me the BS "you can earn super credits through the gameplay" cuz that's just bollocks! You can only earn 10-40 super credits MAX per match and you need other players to help you open doors and stuff, and one match takes 30 mins! So I have to play anywhere from 40 to 100 matches to earn 1000 credits so then I'll be able to unlock just one of dozen seasonal events! It seriously gives a whole new meaning to "predatory" and it's absolutely disgusting that you people are eating this up! 🤦🤦🤦 Absolutely laughable that modern gamers like you are wanking all over this low effort repetitive trash! And it's sooooo sad! Up your standards goddamitt! This garbage ain't worth a testicle of EDF 5 or Remnant 2 or even Borderlands 2 from 12 years ago! 🤷
Recently it got over 30k because of the new release. I was expecting over 80k players to be active and concurrent for this update, but bro, we havent even got over 50k 🤣🤣🤣 games dead the devs killed it
Biggest update that did not improve the game; no platoon (guild) system, no weapon customization, no updated social system, no armor customization, and overall nothing that re-engages the player base.
This is how I’ve been thinking exactly about this update, there’re literally nothing to work towards in the game when your a high level and the only thing that you can is the premium warbonds that come out every month…
The second I saw them advertise Level 10 difficulty, I lost all my interest. The last thing this game needed was a higher difficulty, especially with constant nerfs. 8 and 9 were already so consuming, frustating and unfair that people just played at 7. Wasting their time on something that only 5% of the players will consistently play (and probably not enjoy) is a waste of time.
A decade ago developers would have walked back "broken" "not fun updates" hell theyd even give something for free or plan an in game event now they throw there heads in the sand and get made at game players for not liking theyre new content its just werid ego bs
@roberthazelton6347: I play with one good friend, and we are on the same page, and we also play " Remnant GTA 5 and World War Z, so we have fun. when we play with others, we always make sure we're the host, so we won't get kick" yeah, people are still doing that.
It seems weird that the terminids and the automatons never met and humans are just in the middle. I’d love for there to be a few plantets where bugs and robots are inhabiting the same planet for control and you go in there to fight them. And at times, the bugs and robots are fighting each other. They need to spice it up because I’m one of those people that got bored and moved on
Sony killed this game none of my friends play anymore when everyone was logging on daily before whoever told them to nerf shit in a PVE game is an idiot
The downvote crisis was literally Arrowhead telling players to review bomb the game. Why would Sony even care to help after a company would do that to them? *Side note:* Arrowhead couldn't even manage to make the review bomb cape they said they were releasing.
This game was great for about a week but fighting the same 2 factions on the same maps got old quick. They don’t need new enemies they need atleast a whole new factions. 6 months and this is what we get lol?
@@SleepyMook honestly I know what is going to happen the moment they release them. Everyone will jump back in for a day or two to fight them only to realize how much of a bullshit enemy type they are. Everyone hated them in the first game, people hate fighting the bots but they are just medium difficulty compared to the illuminant.
Sony's lack of live service and PC market knowledge is why HD2 is struggling. This game is being held up by PC users, and those users are used to regular updates and custom content. Sony is very restrictive when it comes to being able to let users add to or modify games. PC users have been saying its ok if you don't want to increase the budget for the game to produce content, just give us the tools to make our own content and game modes. But, Sony is so used to being on top, I don't think they bothered to research the live service or PC markets. The game is dying because Sony is starving it, not because it's a bad game. S
I stopped playing the game after i saw that every update they nerfing the new weapons they just released it felt like a scam tbh like here have a good weapons buy our dlc and then boom nerf and i see they continue to do that and never learned. They will kill this game eventually if they continue this road.
Heres an idea Arrowhead to get people playing the lesser used guns BUFF THE SHIT ONES and not nerf the ones to actually work. I know, it's a CRAZY idea. But it might actually get people playing the game when they actually have fun in it. I know you have apparently never thought of this so I offer my suggestion.
The constant rebalances ruined it for me a long time ago. They didn't just balance things they totally destroyed and rebuilt stats to the point where it didn't even feel like the same game. Really annoying.
I feel the frustration. I've been there since day one, reached level 101, and have over 400 hours of playtime now. I just can't play it anymore. Not because the gameplay got boring, but because I just have nothing to do and they keep nerfing good weapons. I'm constantly at the limit of 250 medals. I bought everything in every warbond. The only thing left is buying ship upgrades for an absurd amount of samples and that is not enough to get me to log on.
The game was fun for about a week, then it just got extremely boring. There's only so many times dropping in and killing hundreds of bugs before people lose interest and move on. You only have to look at the numbers to see most people suffered the same issue.
90% of the stuff in this "update" is completely irrelevant for me because I don't own any of the gear they rebalanced in the first place and I don't play on higher difficulties. When Steam had 500k concurrent players online playing, 450k of them were probably casuals who were sub-level 10. How has the gameplay experience meaningfully changed in a positive way for them in the past 6 months? Well, in all likelyhood, probably not much outside of some bug/crash fixes. Negative impacts, on the otherhand, were plentiful. Certain weapons and strategems have been nerfed so many times that even if you saved up for it, you probably didn't have a chance to enjoy it much. You think a casual player is going to play for a week, saving up medals/requisition to get something like the scorcher or the flamethrower and then be satisfied to use it for a short time only to have it be made completely useless in the next patch because high level players dictate the meta and balance patches are only made with them in mind? Of course not. If you have nothing to look forward to in terms of a clear power progression you are going to get bored of the game quickly. I like the game, but they sure make it a hard game to love when they seem to enjoy taking away stuff that feels effective/efficient while providing nothing to fill the same role. In trying to ensure that no one weapon or strategem is too good at everything, you're left spreading yourself thin with specialized equipment and unable to deal with certain threats.
That's funny it's my main complaint with cod these days too, I work 50-60 hours a week. I don't have time to sit and level and unlock guns all day to get into "meta" only to then have it changed a short time later when they nerf your guns to a useless level. After a couple times of that, I just lost Any desire to play, I'm not dedicating all my gaming time to any one game. I want to casually log on, play and enjoy, and honestly they buff the season pass guns so much and nerf the old guns so much, you have no choice but to be locked into playing. I play the finals now complete casual mindless fun
Idc about nerfs but why isn't AH buffing more primary weapons, nobody is even using any Warbond primary besides Incendiary. We got ton of primary and they all still suck even after the new nerf. Why don't the revert damage reduction on eruptor and other weapons.
the balancing team needs entirely new management and you are totally right about variety! What about a jukebox we can bring into the battle for fun to blast the theme, etc. what about the vehicle that was caught in the leaks, etc. its so sad to see what's happened to this game and thanks to sony still for knocking out 100+ countries, this was a recipe for disaster
I’d rather pay $40 for a month of fun instead of $70 for 3 days of it elsewhere. I just picked up Helldivers 2 today, I’m gonna give it a go for the first time after work🙏
@@Rirage my internet was out because of the hurricane in Florida. It just came back on so I’m downloading the update now. About to try to save Super Earth soon 🙏
Sony has a lot of issues when it comes to Shooters I mean they don't have a lot of Shooters and it's pretty much pretty clear that they rely too much on Call of duty, Sony is pretty much Rusty when it's trying to make a shooter like helldivers 2 successful. Helldivers 2 I really hope does succeed however this might actually mean Sony might have to expand helldivers to Beyond PC and PlayStation to other Platforms in order to get a new audience with this game. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw helldivers 2 on Xbox and Cloud. Just saying because that's what I'm predicting.
You know which fault it is is on Jim Ryan he didn't do absolutely nothing for PlayStation and nothing will do with Herman Holst Sony will be a sinking ship very soon jack tretton was the best ceo
League of Legends looking away and whistling all innocent like while watching people saying Helldivers 2 is repetitive 😅 Also, You know what I would do? Bring back all the funny stuff that wasn't supposed to be part of the game, but players loved. Like that glitch that allowed two players share a same shield while hugging.
Its PVE....nerfing weapons only makes the game less fun. If people need a bigger challenge you have harder modes. Revert weapons back to the original stats then never touch them again.
Games as a service is an incredibly volatile business plan that’s why 80 percent of them fail. You have to essentially print content day and night and clearly the hd2 team isn’t there yet and may never get there. Not my personal type of game but sucks for the fans of it.
Honestly, I think the Illuminate need to get added for this game to feel more substantial. They look nearly done they would change up standard gameplay so much, we really need them. Escalation of Freedom's trailer had me so hyped, little did I know all that they have shown was all that was in the update. The impalers change things up a bit, but the other stuff on the bots is entirely useless. Not to mention it seems to be AH's goal to make the game as unfun as possible since they seem to nerf whatever weapons see the most use regardless of their state.
When I say this, I don't hate the game, but Helldivers 2 is pretty repetitive at this point. I really like getting used to gameplay loops and I actually really like certain repetitive games (like Minecraft or Valheim). But the problem with HD2, is there isn't enough variation in the gameplay loop, to keep people engaged for long periods of time. Like when I go and fight bots, I NEED 1-3 medium armor-pen weapons, or else it just becomes a slugfest. When I go and fight bugs, I NEED some form of trash-clear, as well as an AT weapon, or else I die and make my teammates pickup the slack. The meta in this game is so mind-numbing and it feels like they actively work against player freedom/creativity. I still like it, so I'll continue to check in and pray that it gets better.
If they make these updates, at least have them drop updates more often. I know they could do far better than change 4-5 weapons in one patch. They proved that.
I think they were expecting it to be dead out the gate and because of that had already stopped working on future content. Then once it took off they started again but it’s too late
Well looking at the player counts of the first game, and lack of server space when the game launched, leaving players waiting for hours to log on, the game got way more traction then was expected and that's clear, and AH Cleary couldn't keep people's attention long enough to establish their live service model
I've been playing since March with 600 hours on the clock. It's not boring at all. It's probably my favorite game of all time. Thing is, it's not just a game. It's a lifestyle, and to really appreciate it, you have to really learn the game mechanics and try to be top tier. The game has 59,000 concurrent players right now. On a Tuesday evening. I don't know how much better you can expect than that. For a game that's primarily only played in North America.
Its very apparent how few people actually played the original. This is the same update cycle the original had. Its a fantastic game with only a few hiccups overall.
I like the game, and we all don't like the same things. As an older gamer I don't waste my time getting mad at Dev for not making a game how I imagined it would be in my head, or once the game is out, get mad when the DLC, is not what I wanted.
I have 330 hours played in helldivers 2 and I try to play it for atleast 1 hour everyday. I'm level 75 and I have everything unlocked except 2 ship upgrades. I need more Rare samples. I think some of these weapon balances suck but let's wait till the new warbond comes out on August 8th.
Helldivers 2 Is boring nothing to chase for or collect. Its point shoot kill repeat then leave. No unique Skins in item shop and nothing to separate you from other people or make your self standout.

Ummmm a bunch of cosmetics isn't changing boredom my guy.....you get your cosmetics and you still won't be happy more content is needed not a bunch of useless skins....to stand out lol
Traditionally, they've nerfed guns with ridiculous exploits. For example, the Railgun 1 shoting Bile Titans was a PS5 host related bug. The Eruptor being able to shrapnel things from underground, and kill heavies was ridiculous. And finally, the Flamethrower, cooking a Charger in a matter of seconds was another exploit. You can't allow an exploit like that, when dedicated Anti-Tank weapons like Qasar and EAT are limited by cooldown and ammo capacity.
Also who cares what the gun can do if the fan base finds it fun to use. At that point it’s not about the weapon not working as intended it’s hey your luckly it’s not cause the player base like it.
@@ShanePhoenix5558 Shams already stated Breaker Incendiary was nerfed because of pure spreadsheet statistics. It accounted for 30% of the player loadouts. I'm not saying that's a good way to do things. However it does make the game extremely boring. I switched to my second favorite today after realizing the ammo nerf just wasn't cutting it. Had a good time regardless.
@@9unslin9er 30% of the players were using it cause they enjoyed the gun that’s why maybe if they would buff the other guns instead of nerfing the ones people use they would get people to use them. Let me put it this way they have guns that were useless from the moment they came into the game the ones people don’t use. Then they have guns that are effective. The guns that were effective are all being nerfed into useless guns just so you play with a different useless gun. It makes no sense and makes the game boring and spikes the difficultly not cause of skill but cause of game mechanics. If they wanted to nerf the shotgun they could have done something else but reduced the magazine size cause all weapons in this game have ammo issues for the most part. And don’t get it wrong you think I still play this game but I don’t I just keep up with how much they keep fucking it. I stopped playing back before they ever released the crossbow. I seen the path the game was going down and as a solo player it’s not fun
@@ShanePhoenix5558 Yet you're paying attention to the video. I always go into the game assuming my favorite toy is going to get nerfed, and I have a backup loadout. Before they buffed fire damage, Breaker Incendiery was kinda trash. People were actually running S&P over it. I was running Sickle at the time and wasn't sold on it either. I know this is hard to swallow, but it's kind of ludicrous for someone to be carrying five 25 round 12ga drums around in the first place. It's really physically impossible IRL. Fostech Origin drum mags weigh almost as much as the gun itself. IMO they should have nerfed S&P's mag count as well, but given it Flechettes (bleed damage). That would have been a cool take.
Does this game kick the entire team out for anyone else, then your just left on your own surrounded with no lives? Happens like 2 out of 5 games for me?
I don’t know why they just don’t do what they did in the first game and have less frequent, larger drops of content and not nerf a lot of things. I think a game like helldivers doesn’t need a constant high player count to succeed, the game will do fine with anything above 1000 player count
They lost all the good faith by cutting off every country you can't make a Sony account in, by nerfing the f out of weapons and by delivering a buggy game. Their discord mods are also nuts.
I just want the devs to stop with any content and balance updates and just fix the spaghetti code once and for all. The game is still unplayable after all that time. Me and my other 2 friends can't finish a mission without crashing multiple times. It is insane. But I think the code is so bad, that they decide to work around it instead of fixing it from the core, so I don't think the game will ever be actually playable. What a shame. Had this on my recommended, I don't follow Helldivers anymore. We play the finals instead, which is a great game
I am still annoyed they are taking away good weapons. The flamethrower and Incidary Shotgun nerf was not necessary. It was only done as they where the most picked agains't the termids. Its like they hate people picking fun weapons it really is. Even just 30% of the time if you pick something they will nerf it to the ground so it feels horrible.
Its sad because Helldivers has so much potential if they stopped worrying about nerfs and add real content to the game. They have been drip feeding bare minimum content smh
The new super bases are just straight up not rewarding. Theres an item you bring to extraction with you and it only rewards you with 6 total samples, 2 super rare and 4 rare. I would pay that many samples to not do those bases on difficuty 10, so its a useless addition.

If only Sony wasn't so greedy and released it on all platforms, not making players sign up on a psn account, the game wouldn't have this kind of problem. Why would you pay extra on a platform you're not using
No idea how funding, supporting, helping to create for almost an entire decade of development nor requiring an account to play an online only multiplayer title (just like every other publisher) makes Sony "greedy" at all
My issue is Arrowhead clearly saw that the nerfs killed KILLED the fun they constantly kept putting pressure on the player's to the point the game became a chore it became exhausting. So why on earth are you trying to tweak things not in the player's favor? And the funny thing is I've died to essentially glitches and delayed attacks. And if the if avoided combat is the Ideal way to play the game I think we've failed somewhere.
what is the point of having so many stratsgems when you can’t use most of them, why can’t we have the old railgun and the good flamethrower so we can choose our own playstyle without getting punished, if these devs want the meta to die then make more weapons usable so people actually can use the weapon they wnat to use instead of going to youtube to search for the newest meta
Boredom and repetitiveness is one part of the exedus. Personally for me i refuse to play a game that i continually feel worse at the more new updates come out. Nerfs + enemy stealth buff and my lack of trust in the devs to avoid killing my playstyle because too many people are using said item. No trust in AH balance team.
A relatively small studio makes a game that against all odds blows up in popularity and players with TikTok influenced ADHD brains start complaining if there are no significant content updates every month or so. I'm not trying to defend the game or anything, because I haven't bought the game thanks to the PSN controversy few months ago. But it's funny to me how some players expect this small studio to produce the same amount of content in the same amount of time, as the mega companies do with their hundreds of employees working on their games.
It was a great game but they dropped the ball so hard. It started with the shot gun nerf and then the insane grind. And then they took out the fun...and made it way too hard. Fck microtransactions.
