The thing mahomes has that puts him above all other QBs that have ever existed is that he can do straight up black magic. Sure, Lamar Jackson can juke defenders but can he slow down time like mahomes when he scrambles? When mahomes scrambles he isn’t running super fast but is still literally untouchable. Mahomes probably could pull off a mid-air upside down between the legs left handed shovel pass that somehow travels 85 yards right into Kelsey’s hands who also is the only teleporting tight end. Mahomes is a custom madden character with maxed out stats and cheat codes enabled. Other QBs like joe burrow and josh Allen are still great but they still have to abide by the laws of physics. Mahomes defies logic, space, and time to pull random bullshit every play.

When you actually sit down and think about the roster as a whole year in and year out, its even more impressive. Pat has gone through 2 defensive rebuilded, a completely rebuilt oline, and outside of Mecole Hardman who missed like 75% of the season as the only returning WR from the previous season, he went through a completely rebuilt WR core, and 3 of the those WR were Big Ben, Rodgers, and Bradys throw aways. He won a Superbowl with 9 rookies taking significant snaps. He has been playing with below average defense his entire career as well. The even more crazy part is that he hasnt even hit his prime and is probably 2 or 3 seasons away from it.

If it makes you feel any better, as a Chiefs fan, I had to endure 15 years of John Elway. Then 3 or 4 years of Peyton Manning. I was too young to see Len Dawson play for the Chiefs. I was able to see a few years of Joe Montana, but that was at the end of his career. In the 1983 draft the Chiefs selected QB Todd Blackledge. Other notable QBs in that draft were John Elway, Jim Kelly, Tony Eason, Ken O'Brien, and Dan Marino. Hell, the Chiefs had an 8 game losing streak in the playoffs at one point. So, I spent roughly 45 years of my life buying season tickets, buying jerseys, watching disappointment after disappointment. But do you know what? Since the Chiefs drafted Patrick Mahomes, It has all been worth it. Honestly I'm still a bit disappointed the Bills traded down to let the Chiefs get Mahomes. I am truly happy we Have Josh Allen and I know Mahomes would most likely not have worked out with the Bills considering how dysfunctional they were at the time. I mean, have you seen the kid? He's a friggin giant, with an arm like a cannon, who can leap tall buildings in a single bound, and maybe even look inside and tell you what you had for dinner, with those xray peepers. Ive seen him hurdle over 6 footers and find his way in for a score. Hes quick, agile, and a nightmare to bring down. I Seriously believe that Josh Allen has been called to Buffalo to bring them the Lombardi Trophy, and to finally exercize those demons that have haunted Jim Kelly since Superbowl XXV. I remember watching a game once and Mahomes got flushed out and scrambled left, Hill who was already on the right hash saw this, stopped, turned around, and ran away from his QB to the right side of the field. Needless to say, Hill got the ball. You don't see receivers run away from a flushed QB to the opposite side of the field and still get the ball very often.

Brandon and his Chiefs fan of over 50 years I completely understand and sympathize with your pain. But the reason I sympathize with your pain is because I wholeheartedly relate to it after dealing with John Elway when I was growing up and then you turn around and get Peyton Manning. John Elway crushed my dreams so many times in the last 2 minutes of a game. And up until Patrick Mahomes came along the greatest game I ever watched was Elway versus Montana on Monday night. No worries Patrick is not Immortal, so I'm sure someday in the future the Broncos might win the division again, probably not until after Patrick retires

Simply the most unique QB. His improvisation under pressure is incredible... and his reaction speed and senses are incomparable. He evades sacks as if he has eyes in the back of his head. It's like he can practically feel when he's about to be hit. He's probably the most wanted QB, by every Defensive lineman in the league... tackling him, is probably like a bounty to them. Lol

How you feel is how Chiefs fans felt during Elway's 15 years. Fun fact: The Chiefs were considering drafting Paxton Lynch until the Broncos traded up ahead of us to take him. Supposedly, the Saints and Sean Peyton were going to pick Patrick Mahomes at 11 if he were there and it didn't look like Buffalo was going to pick a QB. Then KC traded up and grabbed him. It was kinda gut wrenching because the Saints needed a QB for potential Brees retirement on the horizon and Mahomes could sit for a year or so and learn from the best. Obviously no one knew he would be this good but it stung at the time. Saints still got a great player in Lattimore but it's crazy how the cards fall sometimes.

Dear Mr. Perna, thank you for posting this video and sharing your pain. Now you know how I felt for a decade with John Elway and his stupid horse grin in the last two minutes of every meaningful game the Chiefs played against the Broncos in the 90s. Like clockwork, he would rip my beating heart out of my chest and burn it in front of me, like a tribal warrior from an Indiana Jones movie year after year. The only balm that has been able to heal this pulsating hemorrhoid of a wound in my psyche has been the buttery ointment of Mahomes beautiful throws and magical improv. So, Broncos fans enjoy the next decade of utter hell, that all of us Chiefs fans had to experience at the hands of Elway in Manning, throughout much of our young adult lives. Up yours truly, Chad the Chiefs fan

Elway used to kill us, so did Manning (but he was later and not for as long a time). With Elway, it wasn't every game, but it was pretty routine. Derrick Thomas and Neil Smith would contain him for 58 minutes and then he'd do an Elway. John Elway was like Jason from Friday the 13th, Freddy Kruger, and Michael Myers from Halloween. Just when you thought he was dead, he'd come back and lead a game-winning drive. The only Kryptonite we had was during the Joe Montana era. I'm just glad we're in the Mahomes era. Another Bronco era will come some day.

And the unholy pairing with Andy Reid makes it even more insane. I imagine if Reid had never gotten Mahomes and did manage to win a super bowl with Alex Smith, he would have retired a happy coach and happy man. But getting Mahomes? Reid is going to coach till he needs nursing home assistance. I am expecting Mahomes to deliver at least 2 more super bowl wins to KC. Just seems inevitable.
