Still not fully embracing my haircut unless it’s pulled back like this, but hey, that’s okay! 😅
Lately, I’ve been engaging in conversations with my daughter about the true essence of beauty. I want her to understand that it’s not about her clothes, her hair, or her body image, but about the beauty that radiates from within. She’s a masterpiece created by God, and that makes her inherently beautiful, no matter what. So, even though I might have moments of insecurity about my hair, I’m using them as opportunities to reinforce these valuable lessons with her by my side. Everything happens for a reason, right? 😅🙌🏼

I’ve had short hair for ten years. Unfortunately styling is pretty much exclusively for medium to long hair other than heat curling. Accessorizing with headbands, bandanas, and hats can help you have more variety

I got my hair done recently and my blonde highlights pulled orangey and not ashy and I was so sad and insecure for weeks. I totally get how you’re feeling and am glad you posted because I think it’s something many of us experience at some point ❤️

I love it on you! Try to do some tiny braids in the top with a clear elastic. That would look super cute!

I get it!!! I just cut my hair and it’s short!!! I won’t be cutting my hair for a year!! Try a beautiful headband. I think it’s cute, but I get it. No one likes change.

I like your haircut! All I'd say is, there is a hair dryer brush that will make curling your hair so much easier. They come in 2 different sizes. I used to use a curling iron but after using the hair dryer brush, I'll never go back!

I recently got the same cut and had the same initial reaction. Hated it at first. Almost cried. But after about a week I got used to seeing myself with short hair and the cut settled in a bit, and it really grew on me (no pun intended). It can be a dramatic change, but I bet you will come around to it.

If you're using a straightener to curl, grab the end of the hair, then twist the iron which twists the hair around it. Twist it up to your scalp, hold for a few seconds then let go. For styling, you can try french/dutch braids, the little bubble styles (don't know the name), plenty of headbands, bandanas, scarves, etc. Twists, the fake braid (forgot the name of that one too), and cute stylish bobby pins instead of the plain boring ones. You have options. RU-vid will definitely be your friend in figuring out how to style it while it grows out. Look up videos and find what works for you.

Remember in pubic, everyone is in their own little bubbles and hardly pays attention to what others look like. I think it’s really cute but if you hate it, it’ll be longer soon!

Hair cuts are definitely dependent on your face shape! I always do research to see if the haircuts I like match my face shape.

When I had this cut, I used a really small barrel curling iron I think the straightening iron is still too big to give you the curls you want. But you can get them!! Go get a really skinny barrel (not too skinny) you don't want Shirley Temple but just small enough to be able to fully get your hair around. Maybe if you go to Sally's they can help you find the right size. I've dealt w this feeling my whole life so I t0tally feel you. But I promise it will pass, you'll find a way to style in the way that makes you feel confident. And if it helps, I think you look amazing with this style. ❤

I have hair about the same length as yours and yours is really cute! Kristen Ess has some really great curling and beachy waves project. I really like your hair though and honestly it really is easy to deal with compared to long (at least that's what I've found and I've had it since...2017.)

The cut is AMAZING on you! Just use a regular curling iron and curl the ends under. Simple. Do not use the straightening iron it is not a good way to curl it.

Although short hair is easy, I think that you can do so many more things with longer hair. But that’s just my opinion. 😊

SEA SALT SPRAY. My waves don't start until my chin, so when it's very short it is pin straight with no type of texture. I use sea salt spray to add some and it does so much better than a pomade ever has

gel back like the 90s boys was fun and a lil eyeliner and lipstick made it feel more feminine. Also two pigtails straight back or strong side part with baby clips to keep hair down. and headband or bandanas for when i needed to cover it but a beanie would do to much.

I accidentally cut my hair too short last year so I feel your pain. I think the front strands pulled back looked cute on you! Maybe try one side behind the ear (maybe with a sneaky bobby pin) and one side down? Or little half-buns with the back part down? Maybe have a hairdresser layer the front parts more so it looks less sleek from the front?

Get a bristle heat brush the round one and when u blow dry ur hair with it and curl it under to give more volume

This is what my hairdresser does with my hair and it always turns out great. Which is good because I can't be bothered to spend 20 minutes blow-drying my thick hair.

I just had the same thing happen. I could not get happy with the new cut. I decided to dye it my favorite color red so I was happy with some part of my hair when I looked in the mirror. It totally worked.

Looks better down and curled then up. When you curl, you're letting the hair out before it even reaches close to the ends..

I did a side part and then on the larger side I twisted it down, adding pieces together going back behind my ear. Does that make sense? Hope it helps!

I just cut my hair, and I kinda hated it for like a week. 😩 But I’m getting used to it now and figuring out how to style it. I like it! Of course, mine is curly, so it’s a different situation. I think your hair is super cute! But I get it. Sometimes we’re the only ones who don’t like our own hair!
