Also the market that buys it tends to emphasize "organic products" which cannot be mass-produced or processed efficiently. That's why "organic" grapes are marked up 20%. On top of this those sandwiches are probably made by small businesses, which always have to sell at higher prices to stay afloat. It's just a tough spot for controversial products.
