It sounds like his snapback module died. I replaced one yesterday where flicking left or right gave a transient up/down input. That and the snapback suppression itself failed. A phob would work but n0ne is hyper tuned to the linearity of oems and doesn't like the feel of them.

I have a phob and I get U Smashes when I’m trying to D Smash a lot of times, IDK maybe it’s me but it feels like the same issues. I did notice not he control stick its totally fine though.

@jebril make sure consult your controller modder and make sure you're familiar with how to use Smashscope, if you're getting downsmash when trying to go for upsmash I'd recommend checking what settings you have for smart snapback, test in the oscilloscope then adjust that filter, typically values +- 20 in the shouldn't be an issue unless they are consistently showing up.

I think the criticism stems from it having relatively significant tech/reaction benefits if you don’t need to bother with x/y for jump but im not entirely sure. People have been playing claw forever which seems like the same principle in terms of finger economy?
