Woo Hoo. I am so happy to hear that. My favorite spot in the world is the Wind River Range in Wyoming. I hope you can get off the CDT and do some of the other trails in that incredible mountain range. If you get a chance go see the cirque of the towers in the southern winds. ❤

I just discovered your channel and I’m enjoying your hikes. I have lived in Montana my whole life and have hiked much of the CDT. I’m excited that you are going to do it this summer. It’s starting to get hot and dry here in Western MT. You might want to get started if you want to avoid fire season in the West. We had a dry winter and the snow is going fast. Good luck!

Great news, can’t wait to see you out there. I’ve not done any of the CDT but I’ve crossed it while backpacking in GNP and San Pedro Park, just west of Cuba New Mexico. May have crossed it in the Gila but don’t know if the CDT route went through that area. That’s all by way of saying if your trek is mostly like the places I’ve crossed it, you’re gonna have a blast. I’ll be watching and cheering you on!

Good luck with your hike ! I just got back from Arkansas spreading my parent's ashes in Lincoln, the town where my mom was born and where they met. I hadn't been to Ark in many years so it was nice to go back and see my cousins and the beauty of NW Ark.

That is awesome!!! I wish you luck and great health on trail. The CDT is a tough one for sure. I live in southern NM and have done several sections of the CDT in NM and CO. I also help out CDT hikers going through NM. Especially getting back from the southern terminus to civilization (a high clearance 4x4 is mandatory). If you need anything as you get into NM, let me know! Glad to help out.

I am really excited to follow your new adventure. I will be praying for your safety. I hope you can have some friends join you on the last leg. The border has always been a sketchy place. I use to live down there so this is coming from first hand experience. Glad you are home for now back in AR. I always love this time of year here in the Ozarks. YES!! THIS TRAIL!!! CDT (and the shorter CT). I've actually hiked sections of all three 'majors'. I know the sections between Durango and Leadville pretty well. Fell in love with Twin Lakes both before and after summiting my first 14'r = Mt. Elbert.. This area is beautiful both on-road (Million Dollar Highway, I-70 canyons between Denver and Moab, and on and on), Off-roading (4x4) ALL around Telluride (and so many other places in Colorado). The one thing I honestly love most about the CDT.. Serenity.. And, when at night or just chilling out... Quiescence.. If one cares for the trail action like the AT, and parts of the PCT, ala.. .Need someone to chat with to survive every day.. The CDT is NOT for anyone.. I never came across a trail angel once.. I'm sure there are some, but not like the AT.. ANYWAY.. I could "dear diary" about this all day long.. Your adventures in Florida made me smile.. I literally lived there (all around) after I found a late love in scuba diving.. I went full tilt.. Full cave.. Tech.. Mixed gas.. All that fun stuff.. Watching your videos actually was giving me "flash backs" of the beautiful and exceptionally wide world of things in Florida.. I THINK you might have liked to at least dive in a cavern in some of those rivers.. ;).. Yeah yeah.. /dear diary..

I would say Glacier is the best Nat. Park for backpackers and the most scenic and the Chinese Wall in the Bob is quite impressive. Good luck and enjoy!

What a cool adventure that's going to be. What are you going to use for the internet while on this hike? Well you have to downsize your camera equipment? Me and my wife do some hiking, but were more into long distance bicycle touring, we have cycled from Florida to California 3 times following the Southern Tier route. In October we are riding the Natchez Trail. It's 444 miles long and stretches from Natchez, Mississippi north to Nashville, Tenn..........

The best part of the trail is by far from Northern Colorado to Southern Colorado. What is your favorite shake out trail in Arkansas? My personal fav's is the upper Buffalo and Eagle Rock.
