Yeah… I can see both sides of it. If someone could really use the money, I can’t blame them for it… but I don’t understand how people pay that much for them. If everyone would stop paying so much to resellers, prices would have to drop.
This is the unfortunate part about collecting sneakers is trying to go for a pair that you really want and taking losses and then you have to think about if you wanna pay resell for that sneaker and the resell value is high I wish Nike would have made this Kobe more easy for people to get because I’d really love a pair this Reverse grinch and the Grinch pair are grails for me and maybe one day I’ll be able to grab a pair if the price is right. -Kara
Yeah. I can’t afford where prices are right now. The most I spent for a sneaker this year was the 85 varsity red AJ1. But that’s a shoe I wanted for years and resell dropped from 700s to 300. Maybe these will drop in price, but as long as people keep buying for over 400, they’ll continue to be out of my price range. Appreciate you watching, Kara!

I actually went 1 for 2 and was lucky enough to grab a size 11. The crazy thing is my main account that's as old as the snkrs app itself with all the Ls on Kobes got another L right at 10am. My 2nd acct that's only a yr old which I use for shoes I REALLY want, got me the W and I actually logged on around 10:07am. And I would say I get 90% of the good shoes on this acct and I always log on late, a few mins into the leo draw. Makes no sense.

i somehow got very lucky and hit on a size 13 on snkrs when they dropped. snkrs and online raffles were my only chance of getting them, so im very thankful. however, i must say though, they are awesome to play sports in. they fit great, support, comfort, and traction are all great. not worth the resale prices but since i got them for retail, i just had to keep them

Your argument contradicts itself. Your agreeing to how there aren’t enough pairs in circulation for more people to have, then you proceed by saying Nike and Vanessa are in it for the money. More pairs sold is more money in their pocket. They don’t profit on the aftermarket value of the shoe. The fact of the matter is the excitement of landing a sought after Nike shoe for retail is what makes the shoe culture exciting and rewarding.

Gave this one a Like just because it felt good to hear someone feeling my pain. Why make 1M Jordan 11 DMPs and just 300K Kobes? Makes no sense. Make a million grinches and make Kobe fans around the world EXTREMELY happy. By shorting us, you only make resellers happy because there's a profit due to limited stock. They'd probably still resell with a million pairs but at least so more of us would have a better chance.

It sucks because its actually a great hooping shoe, but you will hardly ever see them on the court because they're so hard to get. I live in Nashville and the closest in-store raffle for these was in Atlanta. I didnt hit, but if I did I would've gladly made the drive to get them. Nike sucks.

Nike has their own factory, reps are not made in the same factory as retail. Rep factories are smaller and more organized with well paid workers. A retail pair is purchased to study for a few months then a sample is made. Common materials like sadesa leather are identical but materials like patent, nubuck, or suede are harder to replicate.

There are “reps” that are simply terrible from small factories but then there are the unauthorized pairs. You really think these people in China can’t make these shoes. Only the “Nike factories”? Yeah bro I feel you I’ve been trying to get my size 11 1/2 since 2019 I have not been able to get a W on any of them. It sucks and all me and my kids want to do is play basketball in some.Kobe’s. I’ve sent many complaints to Nike customer service and told them why they would lie and tell us that if you took Ls six times on Kobe’s. They would give you exclusive access. The truth is Nike doesn’t give two squirts of pissed about the consumer.
Unfortunately you’re absolutely right. They’d rather keep something hyped up by making it almost impossible to get than make it easily attainable to all who want them.
I didnt care for these because I hate red shoes but I went for them in my son's size and amazingly I hit. Now I'm on the fence if I want to give them to him because he'll just destroy them. On the other hand this is the first Kobe I've ever hit on.

Took 7 L’s through raffles and 3 L’s on snkrs (shock drop, EA, and actual drop). Was really disappointed because I thought I had a good chance of at least hitting on 1 pair. I usually only pay around $20-$50 more for resell. I would pay up to $100 more for these but it’s not looking like it will drop that low 😭
I feel you…but hear this I got about more than 100 pairs of Jordan’s and Nike shoes and I only copped one shoe from the Nike app which I’m returning today because I found it in the outlet for cheaper moral of the story we are just average people who like Nike shoes but have a family to support so we don’t have time to bot the app to win shoes so let’s take that L and move on because big brands don’t give a fuck about the people that made their money….so keep hoping one day we’ll find one for retail bro
I really wish you had a men’s pairs in hand…You will see the big difference in GS and Mens. They made GS so cheap!! The inside cushion lining is so think, and the material is so soft by the Nike sign…Nike did Kobe so wrong with the GS sizes, especially with the orange box. I was waiting for someone to do a side to side review. I had to get my son a 3.5 men because the quality is so better!!!!!

Dusk and Dawns, total price was $604 for both pairs not including shipping. I'm in Eugene Oregon and about an hour and a half away from the Nike HQ/Campus in Beaverton and I've always have taken L's other than once on the Jordan 4's Fire Red 2023 Shock Drop! Exactly, and why I'm about to retire from the game, I probably put in 30 entries from a ma maniere to social status footlocker and snkrs size 13 and I struck out 30 times. Nike do this on purpose to garner hype and I'm almost the games they play. No shoes is the worth a car note just to say i own this shoe I can do alot more with that money than to put it on a pair of shoes just to let it collect dust

They make 3 times the quantity they usually make. Your not going to hit on everything. If you hold off on buying all those gr releases you feature on your channel you can purchase the ones you really want. I consider myself an average person and hit on 2 pairs and the original green pair. Long story short Nike is going to do what they want and as the consumer you adapt or move around.
Man this whole thing really sucks. I got a 9.5 M somehow, I joined the raffle really late, like 10 minutes after it started. If they were 10.5 I'd totally sell to him for $300. Man got a 6.5GS just to review, you can tell how much he'd enjoy having a pair. He also doesn't hate on the shoes or anyone who won a pair.

Yeah, just like the grinch colorway, I know now will prob be the cheapest. I just can’t bring myself to do it at this stage in life. Maybe when I don’t have 3 kids still living at home… but even then, I’d have a difficult time paying more than 2 x retail price. Hopefully next year they make more Kobe’s like they’re saying.
All nike has to do is treat shoes they know people want like ID. Just let people order them as preorders. Problem is they care more about hype and fear hype will drop. Which it won't for someone like Kobe.

Right… but I don’t think having shoes sit for a minute is a huge problem for Nike. They’re still making a ton of money on those pairs. They just want to contribute to the hype by keeping them unattainable. When I was a kid Jordan’s were easy to get, and people still go crazy for them now. It won’t hurt the brand value if they make them attainable. It will break down the divide between those who can have them and those who can’t. Nike could’ve easily doubled production and I guarantee none of the pairs would still be sitting. They know what they’re doing. I just think it’s a little cruddy.

one of my dream jobs is to design sneakers and my number one rule is if there is a demand of the product I create after 2-3 releases, just make them accessible.

I'm 52 years old, I was big into shoes back in my day. It was nothing like today. I was fortunate enough to get. Og 1s 4s and 6s from local footlocker. No such thing as resellers back then. Wished I would have known, I'd be retired now. I still like to collect but find it impossible to get these hyped releases. It's a young man's game these days. Bots and all that I have no clue. I did end up getting the reverses but at resell cost. Ended up paying $440 I'm gonna hold for 10 years and see where they at. Good luck to you in future drops.
