Stumbled upon your video last night "One Man's Dream" and I loved every moment of it. It was very awe-aspiring to see the goals you accomplished through building your truly amazing audio system. I have always been into audio since I was a young teen. I am now in my 30's and I still love it. Thanks for taking the time to share your story. I am very saddened to see ALS taking its progression. I’m so glad I found your channel. I’m 16 and I have a long life ahead of me and I will take your life lessons with me. You are a huge inspiration to me and I hope the absolute best for you.

This man is my hero. I hope he can enjoy that system for the rest of his days and know that someone else will also, and someone after that, and after that, his work and creativity will be enjoyed in ways he can't imagine. That's how great his design and work is. That's the mark of a really great man, to create, to invent, to bring a vision to life, a vision so great that others that come after he is gone, long gone, will still get enjoyment from his creations in that room. I hope his family will get years of use and enjoyment out of his work there and maybe someday, set it up so many people will be able to come there and see and hear a nearly perfect place to enjoy the fine works of musicians as well as the work of Ken, the "Ultimate Audiophile". I'm going to crank up my nice McIntosh system in his honor today and think of Ken enjoying music the same way I do. Not everyone is or can be an Audiophile, I think it's mostly because so few people have heard a great audio system, it's sad that most kids and now adults were never exposed to the music the way the artists and the bands wanted them to hear it. Many kids and young adults only have heard computer sounds and drum machines that can't reproduce the human sounds of playing instruments together. The beat is too perfect so the grove is not existing in computers, and the feeling of humans playing isn't there, but when it's real music played by real artists, recorded and played back on great systems, it's like a slice of heaven that can't be produced by earbuds. Audiophiles get it and usually at a young age, then chase that fantastic sound their whole life, but Ken did it better than anyone in the world, and that makes him a very special man. No music, no life. Better sounding music, better life. It's a fact that few people understand these days, but 50 years ago, almost everyone got it. They were happier too, like Ken. I've worked my whole life trying to get the best sound in my house and can has inspired me to keep at it. Anyone that inspires someone they don't even know, is pretty special. Thanks Ken.

Thank god he was accomplished when all this took over him, RIP Ken. The sound system is something I will forever yearn to experience. I will certainly retain those words that Ken says: "Without music, life is meaningless". Thank you.

Man the universe has a sick sense of humor. Ken I watched your documentary by chance one day. I fell in love with this thing you did. I have worked my adult life building the music room of my dreams and its so small and insignificant in comparison. Perhaps one day ill achieve even a fraction of what you have done here.

Watched the entire 1 hour segment on kens channel. It was a amazing road , as a fellow enthusiast I understand his thoughts and what he was aiming for. The als he spoke open-hearted about it. It's progressing, so sad to see him go through this. God so sad, seeing him in the advanced stage..... Heart breaking

What was not mentioned was that Ken BUILT that addition to the house when he moved to Chesterfield back in 1973, NO subcontractors, just himself with Friends. He LOVES building things! My Daughters and I, along with their Sons had the pleasure of seeing this marvel a couple of years ago when we visited him and his Wife.

I'm so happy that Ken has shared this dream to us all. God Bless him and I pray for slowing of his ALS so he can enjoy family and life and his creations, the ultimate listening "room".

Thank you for the motivation. I decided to pursue my dream home sound system with my available funds and some long nights looking through auctions. My system can't hold a light to the blood, sweat and tears poured into the Masterpiece you created but it brings me joy. Egypt has pyramids and America has Ken Fritz' Pillars of sound.

One of the great insights into human existence is that people often don’t want an object, but instead “want the wanting”. So the solution to this is to set your sights on an insanely impossible goal, and work towards achieving it Chances are you won’t achieve it, and guess what? That’s the whole point! Said more simply, “The Journey IS the destination.” Except in Ken’s case, because after 27-years of hard work, he finally completed his project. Kudos to you, Ken!😄

What a remarkable man and story. Few in this world have the passion, smarts and funds to do anything like this. As a stereo buff myself, I read the article in the most recent Stereophile magazine on the back page about him and was directed to this site. Absolutely phenomenal. Knowing his greatest desire was to keep the system intact, it is sad that there were no buyers interested and it was ultimately parted out at auction. I wish I could have been there. And what a tragedy the end of his life was. May he rest in musical bliss.

Ken Fritz passed away in April 2022.

Anybody who loves music can not but be inspired by your journey, your persistence, and your love to build your dream music system. I sincerely hope you are still able to enjoy your life's work and pray you get more years to do so. Our hearts and prayers are with you Ken.

Mister Fritz, I hope you see this. I'm 22 and I live in the north of russia, but it would be a great honor and pleasure someday to listen to your system. It is a real dream of mine as of today and forever. May God bless your soul in heaven, I thank you kindly for your work.

I have seen the big documentary a few days ago and i thought: how nice would it be, to win a lot of money in the Lottery ;-) so i don't have to work anymore , move to the USA und help this man with everything that he wants to do with his woodworking, his Vinyls, maybe with his system and other wishes round about his dream. The only payment: once or twice listen together to his unbelieveable sound system. Now i have seen this clip and I am very, very sad to see how advanced his illness is and can only hope deeply that he still has the time to enjoy his life's work. Excuse my english. You are a great inspiration Mr. Fritz. Kind regards from germany. I follow the channel and hope to see more litte clips. Life is not always fair.

Though I don't know Mr. Ken personally but since he is a mentor for all audiophile and diy community, I pray to the almighty Lord Shiva to bestow him sure cure from ALS. This breaks my heart to see that the ALS has progressed the way it has. I watched the documentary and Ken sounds like someone I could sit for hours listening to his stories. And I am not even an audiophile, this was a random recommendation by YT.

I was really touched with the documentary part when you say that you have learned to enjoy life and don't overdo it, and with the als diagnostics. Im started to make my system at age 25, now with age 27 i think im trying to rush it, but the audiophile road is like that, always wanting something better never ending. But like your sons i think its a new generational thing of enjoying more and worrying less. Im saddened to see the als progression, but it makes me happy to hear that for you is a blessing for changing your mind, i hope you the best, enjoy the more you can and i think that im impressed with your system, but my complete admiration goes to your way of thinking and i think im not alone on that thought. Ken, I've loved seeing your creation. something most of us could only Dream of. i hope your spending as much time enjoying it as you can. i watched your videos a couple of days ago and i can't get out of my mind you haven't Rocked those Puppys. you know some day someone will, why not you be the first. I've been a lover of music all my life as well. All music. ( except Country, or Western ) so just for the fun of it try out some Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, Boston, ect. there are some great sounding rock bands out there. have some friends that Love Rock and Roll over and treat them and yourself to an awesome time Kicking it Old School . best Wishes to you !

Wouldn't be surprised if working with the chemicals and living in the house where he was applying all of them is a significant contributor to his ALS. The picture at 3:23 shows him working with chemicals without a mask and he did a lot of work with chemicals to make this room.

Love your work. I understand, my uncle had ALS too. We love and we will love to inherit his work. I can’t afford this master system. But I don’t mind to pay for the blue print to duplicate his system. Please have the blue print available so we can pay for and build our own. And his legend will never die
