Muriatic acid will 100% take care of your staining problem, toilet bowl cleaner. This is a series I can get real excited about, boats are my passion.

The only thing more exciting than getting ones first boat is getting rid of ones first boat. Heck, mine was stolen from my front yard and I was relieved. Don't sweat the hull color, the fish don't care and while inside you can't see it. I would add something on the side with a grill. We used to take portable grills out to islands with the families which was lots of fun. Ours goes by a slightly different name but but get your Canadian Power and Sail Squadron certifications. Trust me, if they are like ours they teach lots of stuff you probably don't anticipate. Oh, and have fun D:

All these things, sailors consider extremely unlucky... And, if anyone acts up, you can always make them walk the plank... You can get the proper acid at places like Can Tire to remove the staining from the gelcoat. Make sure it is acid corrosive that has the symbol on the label. That is the only stuff that works.

Muriatic acid mixed 50/50 with water; stiff brush and hose off. Will not harm gelcoat.

A bit of Oxalic acid should help clean up that staining.

I first watched your videos when I was looking for instructional knife sharpening videos and now……you have hooked me in again with another of my passions, fishing and boating. So looking forward to the process of restoration.

For removing the water stain: Comet Cleanser (or maybe Bon Ami up there) lightly sprinkled on a rough terry cloth towel takes care of it fairly well. Be careful NOT to sand with it as it can remove Gel Coat (even Total Boat type high quality Gel Coat) so start slow and in an unseen spot with a circular motion to determine just how much elbow grease is required. i would try some Ajax , or comet powder on a shop rag, with hot water for that stain. after using the abrasive, remember to wax it again.

Boat on Lake Erie in Ontario use a product-by CRC called On & Off hull and bottom cleaner add 3/4 cup in garden sprayer dilute rest with water spray on tea stain will disappear before your eyes little light scrub with brush algae rinse, look like new! Any marine place should have it or something similar well worth the $25. Captainfab is another product works just as well.

That looks like a very strong hull I think you could make it into almost anything you want to a center or forward. Of center console

Michael Borders just did a 40+ part deep dive series on his channel about rebuilding the lower unit of a Merc. Also, oxalic acid will take the iron stains right off.

Don’t know nothing about boats but find this project interesting. I do know that I do a better cleaning job with a pressure washer when I wear heating protection simply cuz I then seem to be more relaxed and take my time. Seems like there should be some interesting excursions when you get the Sea Serpent ship shape seaworthy.

Star bright hull cleaner. Very strong and gets it off first try. I've also heard toilet bowl cleaner can do the job!

Kyle when we cleans our boats from squid juice and stuff like that we use scrubbing bubbles. It just runs right off ! I’m not sure about the yellow tint but how good the scrubbing bubbles works, it’s worth a shot. Also I took all the black from the exhaust off my skidoos white belly pan with magic erasers, worked excellent

Good on you. Just passing a bit of time now waiting for the family for our traditional Thanks Giving Dinner - 14 (6 granddaughters incl) and 3 dogs will be in attendance. Going to be some beer and some wine and lots of turkey and stuffing, mashed potatoes, brussels sprouts, carrots gravy of course. Grandmom has your choice of cherry, lemon, and pumpkin pies. This is my kind of series. I'm been and still are in the boating business for over 20plus years and to get of the yellow stain you should use a product that contains oxalic acid to get most of it of. Starbrite has a nice range of boat cleaning products or Hempels Gelcoat Cleaner.

Finally a boat!!! Looking forward to this!! Sea serpent is a great boat! Job to tell on camera but the hull looks to be in great shape!

Nice looking boat Kyle. That Honda four-stroke outboard is a good engine. I had one on a boat a few years ago and it was super reliable. Just need to be maintained. Looks like a good project.

20’ is a nice size. Don’t know what you paid, but once that Honda is running, you’ve got a great (and valuable) power plant. On that waterline stain. It may never come out, but you could go up a few inches and paint a below-the-waterline bottom coat that would make the boat look a lot nicer and give you a fresh start on maintaining the appearance.

Comet will take that stain off! I use the liquid spray bottle version with bleach .

U can,t always get that last bit ov colour stain off.

Are you going to steer it from the transom or will you move it up and build a surround like your dad's is if so I would look for a hundred horse motor it looks like you could haul a ton and with a fifty it won't hardly move with a big load
