children(Ethan- in this case) have a will sometimes very strong /stubborn will- and a parent has to discipline the child in such a way as to bring proper corrective behavior without destroying the child's tender hearted loving countenance. So, you discipline-and sometimes it can be very unpleasant spanking over the knee etc- but then after a suitable time- the parent goes and brings tender affectionate gentleness to the child- hugs and snuggles for example. This helps the child understand love as a discipline and affection come from the SAME set of hands.@@shouvikghosh8946

And apologizing won't make you any smaller. She is still a baby (for all of us). I understand how you feel. Even I get upset or annoyed when someone messes up with my things, even to this date while I am a 24 year old grown up adult, but later I say to myself...just let it be. It's human nature. But one thing for sure, you can't hold grudges to someone you love so dearly. Aubrey Lilian is dear for us too. She said sorry in a cutest way possible. Just acknowledge that and forgive her.
