All I have been doing is caring for all the plants I have in my apartment since quarantine. In just one video you made it so easy to understand how to help them. Trying to find solutions online can be stressful because there’s too much information. This was very informative and calming, thank you!
My mom has this plant in her house. None of us knew what kind of plant this was and it's been kind of neglected, but it's survived for the past 10+ years. It's about 7 feet tall despite never having been repotted, never getting fertilizer and being watered maybe once a month. It's really beautiful, but we'd like to trim it back as it's a bit too large now
Same. Mine has been in the corner by my front window for 15 years and it's 10 feet tall. I repotted it about 2 years ago and that was extremely difficult because of how big and heavy it's gotten. If I ever have to move I have no idea how I'd get it out of here.
Hello mam...mujhe plz guide kare mera rubber plant niche se Khali ho rha upr leave aayi hai kya karu? Mujhe ye h plant bahut pasand aaya tha pr ab bahut pain ho ri k yeh CHL ni rha
People who connect with nature like you do, have a soothing calmness about them, I like to read and don't watch too many videos, but yours are lucid, and your love for these plants is evident in your videos. I don't know how many years of interest it must have taken to have the knowledge you have, and the love you feel for them. Thank-you for making them. You're one of my favourite women on RU-vid, (Jonna Jinton is another) I hope nature is always as kind and loving to you as you are to it.
I clipped the topmost leaf of my rubber plant as you had mentioned. My plant started shooting up immediately after that. Thank you for the wonderful tip! Tried the same for Fiddle leaf fig as well and it worked. Thanks a bunch!
Best way to clean leaves is keep the plant under shower and get a thorough rinse. Let it dry out naturally don't use any clothes to dry. Rubbing clothes on leaves kills its veins and will result in browning of leaves. When you cut the plant cover the cut edge with cinnamon powder or turmeric to prevent insect infections. Keep up great work on plant care.
@@RK-pb4zl as if you know everything.. if you can't appreciate anyone, at least try not to do the opposite.. unless you are more qualified than them in that area, to criticize
Rashmita Khati that’s not a very nice comment ! You don’t seem to be a pleasant person Rashmita. She has beautifully given us all information with clarity. Her way of explaining is soothing. And what do you know ? Pls do a video on care for rubber plants if you are so well informed. I will be waiting for your valuable contribution on this platform. Have some humility my friend
I received my rubber tree plant when I lost my 26yr old son to cancer in 2015 so you can imagine very important it is to me. I recently repotted my plant because ants had invaded it and before I replanted it I cleaned all the old soil from around the roots(this is what someone suggested to me that I do) I realize that put my plant in shock but it’s having a lot of new growth recently but all most of all of the leaves on my plant are at the top and no leaves at the bottom. I wish I could send you pictures but just from my description, is there any advice you can give me? Any would be greatly appreciated because I don’t know a lot about caring for plants and have just recently began to garden and buy more plants so I hope to have a green thumb in the future. Most important to me is my rubber tree plant because it is so sentimental to me. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Also, I live in the south in the USA if that makes any difference. Thanks again. Greetings from Alabama in America 😊🌿🌷
I am new to keeping plants and I find most information pretty confusing and overwhelming but you are the first resource that I can easily understand and follow. Thank you so much!!!
No need to watch any other videos on gardening after watching your " Garden Up " videos... Keep up your good work. You are an inspiration to many beginners like me.
I got this plant last year and i didnt knew anything about it and it didnt grew at all ..was same as bought...in one of your vdos "best air purifer plants" and there i saw this plant on thumbnail and immediately clicked and god i am happy to know about this buddy💜 Thankyou so much dear💜
Wow.... I loved the info...And the way you provided it... I have this plant in my house since last 30 years in a pot... In starting I didn't know it will grow this big vertically... But it has now in the same pot it has gone from ground floor to second floor and there it started becoming like a full grown tree in spite of a thin stem like 2 inches..Dia.. at top it is getting a lot of direct sun light and yea some leaves do burn out due to heat in summer here in rishikesh...But it keeps on growing new healthy leaves as well... This plant is like my buddy since I was 5 years old... I love it... And tbh I pour soaked rice water directly in the soil .... 🤗
I bought my first rubber tree in 2015 and it has grown to almost 7 feet! it has moved with to 3 different homes and is very fuss-free. I recently repotted into a 25cm pot and I water about once every 3 weeks in the cooler months 🌱💕
Thanks for the information, recently I bought a small rubber plant from a nursery and planning to repot it in a slightly bigger pot , I hope it grows well
U r giving the good ideas with a very positive thinking and with a positive smile... madam my rubber plant leaves are falling regularly everyday one by one all leaves are fallen.. mam pls advised
Whenever I tried to prune, there is a new leaf emerging. It is very difficult to cut to make it bushy. Is it ok to cut where there is a new growth? Secondly, what is the right size of the pot needed for a year old plant?
Subscribed! I especially loved the bonus info. Really great content, my rubber tree has been dormant for like 6 months, I will try adding the fertilizer and pruning to see if that encourages growth. Thank you so much for the info. Now I will have a marathon of your videos. :)
I love the ficus elastica, Ive had successes and failures with this plant. I so love the variegated variety. I have seen some rubber plants grow with gigantic leaves tall and magnificent and I'm hoping I can some day have one looking like that in my house, the shiny dark leaves look stunning. I gather they also require the right growing conditions and at this point, I have only ambient light in my home at certain windows and no sunlight at all as its a north facing house. I love your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Can I just say that this has been the most informative and helpful video I’ve watched on houseplants, and I’ve watched a lot. Keep up the great work! 🤗
@@GardenUp I have many Centipedes , so called kankhujariya or gom in india.. They are not Good for us as they go in the ears and then eat the brain.. Actually I bought the plant 2-3 days ago And after repotting it in a big pot I saw many of them in each plants , how to kill them , I have to keep the plant indoor , but can't keep due to the centipedes 😓😓 please help
@@aumdhavale3689 some of the small centipedes are actually good in the soil, they eat the bad insects and that means the soil is healthy. most healhy soils will have many type of small moving insects, a soil without insects wont really grow plants that good.
this was really helpful! I've had a variegated ficus for about 5 months now, and it hasn't had any growth. I'll definitely try to prune it and give it some fertilizer!
You are knowledgable and well spoken. Your videos are presented with lots of information and good presentation. Thank you very much. Glad you came on my recommendended channels. Subscribed. Peace to you from Sacramento, CA, USA 12/07/2022
Thanks for a good instructional video. Notwithstanding my doubt regarding how to cut the stem and how to grow the cut portion for propagating a Rubber Plant for my home. I'll be thankful for an early response
Thank you for sharing informative tips on growing this plant. I have one at home on my patio which I love very much. Will try to prune it as you suggested.
I have two of these, one is very large and the other one is still small and not growing very well . I want my big one to become like a tree eventually so I'm thankful for the helpful tips 😍!
Heyy Ekta.. I just love to watch your videos.. keep going.. But I have a question who waters your plants or how do you manage so many plants when you travel for a week or more ??
@@GardenUp lucky you got someone who water your plants.. in cities you can’t just handover keys to some asking to water plants. I can’t go hometown because of plants. I can’t see them dying..
I liked your last comment, definitely all the plants are outdoor naturally, we chose some of them as indoors which can survive with lesser light , adapt to the indoor environment. 👍
Mine was in west facing balcony and two leaf buds were just not growing for months. I brought it indoors and watered more often and it sprouted leaves in 2 weeks. Just needed some love and care.
Excellent video I just purchased a beautiful one from home depot in a 6inch pot have it near the window and will set it outside during the day as much as I can also added thoroughly rain water yesterday and a small amount of organic fertilizer will probably purchase another one soon it took a whole yr to finally find one at home depot
Omg I laughed out loud for real when you addressed the question at the end if the plant is indoor or out! 😅 yeah plants came from the great wild I enjoyed your video thank you!
My mom carried the plant with her from Guyana and it survived the trip after years it has grown sooo big and there was actually a time where it would go weeks without water and it did just fine
so happy to see your this video about plantation , soothing explanation, with so much knowledgeable and information. You’re god’s soul. Fond Regards Suyash Pachauri
Great video I’ve noticed my rubber fig getting sloppy and the leaves were getting too bent the problem was that I had to water it every 3 to 4 because of the low humidity although we have only 10 percent of humidity misting and spraying with water didn’t help only watering saved the plant so even though the recommended watering schedule is every 1 to 2 weeks if either the humidity is low or the uv is high watering it every 4 days helps.
Where I park my car to avoid paying parking toll (in empty mud area) there are a lot of these trees.. they hv areal roots like banyan.. I took a lot of cuttings from them and now hv These plants at home..now I hv recently purchased 2 variegated ones too..
Caveat that you’re watering your ficus every 3-4 days in India, where it’s hot and the plants are kept outdoors. In Australia, where it’s cooler, I only need to water my ficus once a week and it’s very happy.
Hi, i propagated rubber plant from a medium size leaf and took almost 4 months. it showed improvement when i put it near window for indirect sunlight. thanks
My rubber plant has lost its leaves, may be because of hot weather in north india. It's growing now but only at top, so vertical stem is empty with few leaves just at top. Can you suggest? What should I do?
hi! I love your video! very informative! I’ve recently taken up interest in taking care of plants. My in-laws have a huge rubber plant growing in their yard. My father n law says he has cut it so many times and it keeps just growing right back up. I want to grow a rubber plant so I told them that I would take a part of theirs and bring it home to care for it. It’s currently an outdoor plant and I want to grow mine indoors. My question to you is how would I be able to cut some of the plant and bring it home? Should I cut it from the root up and pot it or can I simply just take a piece of it to begin growing it from scratch? I hope this question doesn’t confuse you. 🙂 Their plant is already about 4-5ft in height!
I so love your videos! Plant people are always soothing and calming, you reinforced this statement. My indoor Pilea peperomoides is becoming leggy and dropping leaves. Can you please tell me what to do?
My ficus elastica is so tall (about 4 feet) and I have to stake it or it will fall over. Is there a way to strengthen it so it can stand on its own? It gets tons of light and fertilized regularly.
Thank you for this video. I don’t quite know why but rubber trees just don’t thrive with me. They don’t die, they just don’t push out new growth. They just sit there. I’m determined to make mine push out new growth!
Hi, I love the way you explain everything. I have one concern about my rubber plant. Whenever I prune the top of my plant, instead of two branches only one grow, so my plant is lengthening in weird way. Plz help
I love your videos!! Thank you so much I actually having the exact problem that my rubber plant is not growing. I’ll try pruning. If I am brave enough tomorrow lol. Thanks!!!
Also have you ever noticed white little spots on the leaves. I’ve heard that it can be normal process of this particular plant just want your second opinion lol thanks!
I look forward to your videos amazing info on plant care. My rubber plant lost its leaves when I wasn't at home for almost a month. My fren was watering at times but before I left it was very healthy and good looking. Now the leaves are drooping and also shed while top is germinated. Please suggest how can I recover. I guess even the season is adding..
I live in a flat and I want to have a rubber plant and areca palm. What I want to know is how not to let it grow too tall since I don't have too much space . Thank you
What do you think of aeroponic and hydroponic gardening? Can you explain if we can use it as a layman for our home gardening ( esp. for indoor plants)!!! Love your vedios and the details you provide.
Very nice video..thank you...1 thing is not cleared, I use to watering once a week or twice a week? For rubber plant? I gave water everyday....now seeing the tree is wetty mark from root through above 2 inches...🙄 Is it ok?
