Sic view of the reflection on your visor as you were exiting the dark tunnel, you could see the sliver of light on your visor getting bigger and bigger. Wonderful choreography.
The worst thing about being a sailor in fog is not getting much sleep because the fog horn is gong off every two minutes. Other than that, we have radar, so it's fine.
I hate riding in fog, had fight it coming home last night. Used to get really foggy coming home from work in Spring and fall, highway went right along the River and at night even worse. Watching you on some the roads seeing the River, thought crossed my mind if those bridges still around after Helene, such tragedy in that area.
Nice scenic ride. I kinda of like that bike, sounds good in the video. That fog had to be hell riding through, I have a hard time driving in fog like that in my car, even harder on a bike. 👍🏻👍🏻
I wouldnt have preferred the music though it was a nice choice and I appreciate that you toned it down so we could enjoy the sound of the engine. Thank you for the ride!
I love the ride in the fall when the leaves are changing . The tail of the dragon the one of the most amazing rides . I live just an HR away from there and I ride my Softail custom up it all the time .enjoy the ride girl .
Dope video..have a friend that traded his Harley Davidson cruiser for his dream bike which is the V100 Mandello S. Bike looks sick, he equipped it with some bags for long distance and those wings that open up are pretty cool. I was amazed with all the features it came with along with that insane affordable price..thing has all kinds of features on it.
I was just down there on my bike from Michigan back in September and rode the tail of the dragon. Now I wish I would have rode through more of the scenic routes. I heard that the Cherohala skyway was awesome also. Awesome video!
We were down there about a year ago and stayed on Robbinsville Had a great time. Actually enjoyed riding the Cherahola Skyway more than the tail. Great rides all over the area. I can’t imagine what the area looks like now. Prayers for the folks involved.
Great video Jess, ran into same situation when I tried to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway last week. Heavy fog, lot's of rain, had to turn around after reaching the highest point because of more heavy rain. Then the next day, had to leave my camp site in Balsam Mountain because of the hurricane. Will have to plan another trip back, hopefully in better weather. Lot's of roads to do still LOL
What an adventure! Great video! I remember watching blockhead and his crew place a sticker somewhere in that tunnel and If you can find it and take a pic with it he would send you a t shirt lol
Having recently become aware of this amazing route, its been added to my bucket list! Do enjoy your easygoing video style... plenty of information and comment in a laid back but interesting manner! Nice to see you on a variety of bikes and styles especially being as in the US the H-D is King! Moto Guzzi have now really brought their A-Game back with their newer bikes: V100 Mandello and the newer V100-based Stelvio... Here in the UK where there aren't a wealth of Moto Guzzi Dealers am lucky to have one about an hour's drive from me so will be visiting it again for test rides in the future I'm sure! Keep up the great content and work! 👍👍
The blue ridge parkway is closed now because we get hit really hard from the hurricane. It took out the town of lake lure and chimney Rock . They are restored now .
Saw the v100 Recently after riding BMW Demo Day; white with Gold Wheels it was absolutely 🔥 Beautiful Machine! Signed up for Guzzi Demo Day October 17-20th @ Daytona! Looking forward to sampling the v100! Enjoy the Ride! Look forward to more content! 🏍️
Yea, that is pretty common in the south Appalachians. You get use to it. But occasionally you have some of the biggest crashes in the world because of it. Back in highschool, we had a guy drive under the back of a school bus that was stopped, picking up kids. Not sure he ever saw it. You never see him in the bus video.
The Tail is fun for sure but the Parkway is where it’s at! Years ago we did a thrift store challenge and I rolled into Deals Gap with cheetah print leggings and sandals😂 Brothers didn’t know what to think..
You weren't in Sport mode in the beginning. I have the V 100 s model.. she RIPS.. Also, we were there in Asheville, Marshall, and Hot Springs last week. We had to evacuate to Georgia. Our destination was the Virginia Moto GuzzoiRally, but never made it. The V 100 is very suited to those roads.
Interesting factoid - the Black Hills mountains are about 600 million years older than the Appalachian Mountains. The oldest rock in the United States called Morton Gniss is located in Minnesota along the Minnesota River. The Appalachian Mountains somehow still feel older though.
I stumbled upon the Morton Gniess formation on one of my very first motorcycle rides. Pulled off to take a break and have some lunch on a rock out cropping and noticed an informational plaque. 3.8 billion years old! As old as first life on earth.
Thank you again for the great video. I wondered if you could tell me or make a video on your audio setup. Your Audio is so good. I have an Ace Pro with 2 Purple Pandas. One zip tied to my Sena boom and one zip tied to my right side speaker. Are you doing the 50s Bluetooth to GP 12? I’ve fought for a few years on this trying to record myself and my wife or other riders. Thanks again. If you don’t have the time that’s cool. Keep on riding. I
Rode it yesterday and today on my Chieftain. Yesterday, flawless, traffic wasn't heavy at all, Tenn and NC cops on both ends were keeping 18 wheelers off..Rode it today after doing the Cherohala and lunch at Tapoco, saw an accident where an 18 wheeler with no trailer crossed the center line and hit a sport bike pretty much head on 😢..Not sure of his status...
If you're not addicted to power and enjoy a unique ride, there's nothing comparable to riding a Moto Guzzi. I will always have one. My V 85 is wonderful.
Jess, great video. However, I was wondering if you were singing the song from Ronnie Milsap “Smokey Mountain Rain”: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XqM81OrUc1o.htmlsi=Hx_Fqg9qho8qzylv ???? lol 😂 😂
@@HerTwoWheels Jess, I can't find a good picture of the levers on a V100, but I can find a Guzzi Stelvio. You can't quite see it, but I suspect that button is on the right lever, probably somewhere near the thumb. If you have an email address I'll send it. By the way, in Europe it's mandatory to have hazard lights. As you can see, I myself drive an Yamaha FJR, so I can't walk to my bike and make a picture.
Nope, that is not true. Most (european) bikes have hazard lights. Not all. Not even close. And the V100 only has "automatic" hazard lights that come on when you're breaking hard. No manual hazard lights.
Paul from Australia, The V100 is an amazing looking piece of Art really “ . I own a V85tt. Well at least your riding a bike through the twisties that actually handle unlike another brand 😂😂😂, but I know Harleys are big in the US “ being mostly made their it’s understandable. You just need to get rid of the woke CEO . Keep living the dream .
You handled the Alps. Dragon no sweat. As of October. Southern Tennessee ok. Newport and North over to western Carolina is a NO GO. absolute tears. Lives are ruined. One of my friends house on French broad out of Newport almost killed him and his wife.
