@@RUNNER_HIT Old song by "The Hollies" If memory serves right it's been in war films when a soldier carries a wounded or dead comrade back to their lines.
0:23 Never before could I have imagined what an aircraft carrying another one would look like. Legit, it perfectly depicts a wounded being carried by an ally.
@@michaelmcconnell7302 but it's not offset like here. Here, it's like you can almost see the wounded wrap their arm around the shoulder of the one who's carrying because their legs aren't working anymore.
I remember two guys did this for me when I was in my crippled B-17, they got their wings under mine and practically carried me back to base. All my engines where smoking and it was the single greatest thing I had ever seen
It also happened during the Vietnam war when an f4c phantom was pushed out of the way by another F4 very interesting story I recommend you check it out
@Nikola Maric tell me you don’t understand planes without telling me. His plane was going down. He had no power to propel it forward. So he was slowing down. If he turned the plane it would have slowed more because that creates MORE DRAG. Had he put his flaps down he would have slowed, Why? BECAUSE OF DRAG.
This is a quote from one of the band of brothers. I don’t remember which one unfortunately, but it was a real quote. And indeed very touching if you know of the events that’s took place.
An event very similar to this actually happened in Vietnam. The event was known as "Pardo's Push" where Captain John Pardo used his F4 Phantom to push his wingman's badly damaged aircraft, flown by Captain Earl Aman, 88 miles toward Laos. Pardo had his wingman lower his tail hook and he pushed the other F4 by lodging the tail hook on his canopy until one of his own engines caught fire and he ran out of fuel. Both pilots had to eject and they managed to evade capture before being rescued by helicopter. They were both eventually awarded the Silver Star.
I WATCHED THIS VIDEO FROM SO LONG AGO AND ONLY NOW IVE REALIZED YOU POSTED THIS! I know im very late but it justs shocking on how it took me so long to find this video.
well most people dont even comunicate so never know when they need help. but atleast i escort canberas with my A4 so they are atleast somewhat safe from missile with my counter messures
*48 tyears later at a Xmas Party where your new son-in-law casually bragging again* .. ... .. .. Son, back in 21' we did a little pullin and pushin ourselves......
He literally carried you that game. For real, though, what a legend, getting you stabilized enough to the point where he knew you could then touch down safely!
I think he actually carried him long enough to pass the tree field where it would've been dangerous to land, stabilized or not. But yeah either way, totally golden moment here.
That's because you weren't around 10 years ago during closed beta and after to witness pilots like this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5Uxuajrb5IQ.html
@@Katya_Lastochka I kind of get your point..... but I hope Call of Duty and Fortnite players don't start going out into society and filling people full of lead.
They are only a few, but they will help all teammates on their side. WT is a game and at first you should have fun playing the game. Teammates like this secure the fun. Helping others, fight together, share every victory and defeat. THAT is the spirit.
@@CarN4tion yeah, even if you meet someone on the other team, so this one time i was in the kv 1 zis and i meet another kv 1 the issue was we both didn't have the right ammo to kill each other, as well as we pushed are tanks together so we could shot the weakshot, so we plob fought for 8 minutes then he surrendered and me and him fought both are teams and ended up somehow having a draw i think
@@CarN4tion We can play WT together. I am not as good as i wish(probably while i only play with one hand because the other is disabled). But no matter if my team wins or lose, if the round was good(teamplay or/and funny moments) it is a win for me.
I usually only play Ground Forces or World of Tanks, but I have this unnatural urge to drive in front of people broken down after receiving fire. I've made good online friends saving their lives in video games 😀
This is the reason why i played warthunder, 2 years later I have american and russian tech trees in air grinded all out. This is the greatest video of warthunder of all NO MATTER WHAT. Love your content, peace to all who read and have a good day, night, morning, afternoon, drink, dinner, lunch, breakfast, everything that gets you up in the morning.
That move was based on an actual event. During the Vietnam conflict, 2 F-4's were returning from a sortie when one was critically low on fuel. The pilot of the low fuel aircraft was directed to drop his tail hook, and the other pilot flew their aircraft up to the tailhook, using the windscreen to push the aircraft into safety.
If you watch closely, you could see how close they were to fucking up their aircraft. And you could even tell how that Phantom 4 was seriously hauling ass trying to get his friend out of that situation dude. Respect.
What a hero. I wish more teammates played like this. Truly makes the game *way* more enjoyable than just "getting kills". Anyone can get a kill, but it takes real skill and heart to do something like this with little to no communication or planning.
That, and saving and protecting a flipped ennemy (that you may or may have not caused the flip in the first place by destroying the makeshift bridge.) One more thing that i find much more enjoyable than just getting kills, is actually playing the objectives, one way or the other. Be it standing your ground on a capture point or instead using it as bait to ambush ennemies.
In the Vietnam War Two F4s had been on patrol, one has an issue. Like fuel or broken engines I forgot The broken one used its carrier hook to be pushed by the other F4. The pushing F4s window was fucked but they both made it Edit:Thank you everyone for having a good discussion about the story in the reply section.
Yarnhub made a video on that The refueling arm(or whatever its called) was sticking out of the fueless F4 then the other F4 went under it and supported the fueless one by using the cockpit window as a strong surface as a place to make the arm rest on, lifting the fueless Phantom
If you have the setting on you automatically get put into a squad every game so it doesn’t necessarily mean it was organized but it could have actually been a random
Wanna play this game well lemme tell ya something about the fandom This guys leak military grade secrets just to have the tanks and planes to be very accurate to their military counter part
Whoever that was actually knows their history. It was called “Pardos push” and involved a mortally wounded F-4 in Vietnam. He dropped his arresting hook and another F-4 used his jet to push long enough that the stricken crew could eject in safer area.
Pardo's F4 had taken a hit and lost fuel. Once his plane's fuel dried up both crew's ejected. A bean counter didn't believe he had been hit and run out of fuel and tried to discipline him for losing his plane, but charges were dropped.
@@silentkhaos1176 in general, it's a term for anyone that obsesses over small detail finances, adding up pennies and cutting costs to try to balance a bottom line... in this specific case though, yeah, "desk jockey officer who's never been deployed outside of air conditioning" fits
@@JimRFF I've have you know I deployed on short notice, OUTSIDE of my air conditioned room in order to debrief and assist callsigns "Mom" and "Dad" with the unloading of supplies and rations requisitioned from the quartermaster over at F.O.B. Walmart, from their unarmored light infantry transport. Dangerous shit out there... Almost got attacked by a squirrel.
Man moments of teamwork like these really make this game amazing, the best experience I've had in War Thunder was when I was fairly new to the game playing as a bomber, I got attacked by a couple fighters that I couldn't fend off. In comes maybe 4 teammates who shoot them down and escort my barely airborne bomber back to the base.
