A part of it in my mind is trying to cater to the modern day music industry. Great singers are not valued like they were before and the emphasis is on making repeating, easy, brainless "hits" and performing them in minimal clothing. This side of Jessie is what I love, she definitely is one of the greatest of this era, but I really don't like seeing her get involved in the aforementioned part of the industry, albeit I understand that tha probably is what you have to do in order to make a living. I just wish we could go back to appreciating real ssingers and not just this carbon-copy autotune crap that we are force-fed nowadays.
@@Parker-930 Not underrated, Rock in Rio 2022 has "World Stage" and "Sunset Stage", the World Stage is for greatest bands and artists presentations, the Sunset stage is for less famous and little artists. Ask me where Jessie J made a show at one of the biggest musical festivals in the world... Yeah, the answer is Sunset Stage... Thats a shame!
She is such an underrated artist! Its very rare for a breed of talent such as hers where she writes and CAN sing her songs! It is also very inspiring to hear her sing like this knowing her vocal health issues in the past! YES QUEEN!
@Zowie Brown also it's been reported by people she's worked with that she's a bit of a diva and quite a difficult person. She probability pissed off the people that had power of how successful she is.
When I really like the original I often don’t like people putting their own spin on it. But she did it beautifully because she kept the power from the original.
Jessie J is just on a whole other level. I’m glad I saw this today, it just made my day. She’s the whole soul of a song. Amazing. Not many people can do justice to a Whitney song, while simultaneously keeping it their own. I love this so much
Agreed she is definitely on another level. IMO she is Legendary tier up there with Whitney, Mariah, Aretha, Celine etc. One of the best vocalists ever and this shows the masterful control she has over her instrument.
I swear her voice never fails. she hits every kind of note you can imagine & makes it seem so effortless. You see other singers have to really work hard to give all this power but Jessie just stands there fooling around while knocking it out the park. Best vocalist around.
Jessie has one of the most incredible voices of any generation. It's so strange that she's so underrated. She should be as appreciated as Whitney ever was.

A remarkable, powerful voice. In my opinion, the best. There's nothing she can't sing. I don't know of any female singer who could even come close to this cover of Whitney's classic as she did. She even surpassed her on some of the runs. Yep. I said that. ♥😊

Holy Jesus.......... I knew she was good but she really never stops surprising me. Every time I hear her live, she just keeps one upping herself. So sad that she doesn't have more hits cause more people should hear this voice.
Someone plzzzzz explain to me how Jessie J isn't the BIGGEST star on the planet right now. I've NEVER seen any artist come anywhere near hitting Whitney's vocals... this is the best I've ever seen for sure. I worked in NYC as a pop culture writer when Jessie J FIRST came out, interviewed her in person, she was a total sweetheart; I went to a tiny show like this and was completely blown away. I do not understand how she never got bigger than she did. She is the REAL DEAL folks
Jessie J is my favorite singer, but I can see why she's not the biggest star. I've bought a couple of her albums, and there weren't a lot of smash hits on them. "Domino" is a brilliant pop song, but other artists write and record far more radio friendly songs. She also is willing to experiment vocally. She'll do some off the wall stuff, and I think it's great, but it doesn't fit in the pop box very well. She is gorgeous, tall, stays in great shape, has a lovely attitude and energy, and she's the best singer I've probably ever heard, but ultimately it comes down to more hit songs and being safer vocally.
I'm amazed by how she can be standing still and in heels and sing this song with such a great technique. How she easily changes between the very airy tone and the powerful chesty one. She is such a talented singer.
