Megan, I wanted to tell you that your statement about skin cancer not healing got me to go to the doctor and I discovered my skin cancer. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Kathryn
I think it's great having you in Australia, sorry if you have to leave, love it if you stayed. We live on the Sunshine Coast and our boat is moored at Manly Qld, let us know if there is anything you need if you come back! Please come back. Hope you find your boat soon xo
I wish you speed recovery and good luck about your health problem. About boat selling, i don’t understand nothing, there are so many boats sleeping all year in Marinas, costing maintenance, boat place and devaluation … and there are not to sale … A lot of boat owners are mad and should liquidate these assets as quick as possible …Unbelievable….
Once again another fantastic show!!!!! You guys are no longer RU-vidrs you are producers of the the O'Kelly's show. The video production, commentary, the music and the stories are first rate! I sooooooo much look forward to tuning in when I get my notification. Your show always delivers and lifts me up. Thank you and good on ya mates, P.S. so glad that you are doing well my lovely and I truly hope you find the the boat you are looking for. I wish you fair winds and calm seas - 😀🤩🤕✌🤙👍
At least you're having or had your surgery in Australia, we've some of the best surgeons in the world. Hopefully it turns out to benign, hoping you have a speedy and full recovery
Megan, those shades at 4:00…I don’t see them again in the rest of the soirée! They make such an awesome fashion statement. Bold, brassy, brazen, beyond. Welcome back to Oregon both of you. This seems to be a particularly cool, if not cold, spring here. That leads me to wonder if summer will be particularly hot and dry. Ya know, Yin and Yang. Thanks for the Slipins link as I too have BCC.
Ohh how I know that so well. I hide from the beaming rays as much as possible. But I can't stay away from it. It's not fair. I always have a couple of bottles of PDQ herbals ready for the little bastards and in-between true science anti aging cream. 25 years fighting skin cancer. So far I've managed to stay away from the knife. But I still check in with the doc. Don't like that knife! I still had to treat it with PDQ herbals later. You have to be aggressive with it. I've had 100's. Otherwise half of me would be cut out. Basil carrot patches. I treat every spot I question ASAP. I can send pictures to you. Stay on it. Cover up as much as possible. But get out and live! Can't wait to see that new boat! Captain Pauly
Yeah I’ve had bits and pieces cut out of me over the years all from when I was younger, wasn’t really a sun worshiper just a getting on with life person just walking in the sunshine. Gotta remember “Slip, Slop and Slap”.
$800? My out of pocket cost for my last Moh's surgery in the U.S., even WITH "Gold level" insurance, was almost $3000. I f****** hate the U.S. medical system. Wishing you a speedy recovery and thank you for sharing your adventures with us! Edit: $101 for pathology? My pathology bill was $1500! I really, really hate the f****** U.S. medical system! :) Edit 2: An acquaintance of mine recently received a $120,000 bill for a 2-hour outpatient surgery to replace a pacemaker battery. I really, really, really, really hate the U.S medical system.
Recently had a basalcell carcinoma removed in my face, rather big at that. Although quite benign in nature, it is still quite unsettling, having surgery in the face. I wish you luck, strength and love.
Glad you're healed! Now, it's not clear what Megan's New Health Kick of the Month is with this 72 hours of fasting but that ain't right girl!!! I'm sure Nick is happy to act as the Control in this case!
Welcome Home you two!! Hats, Coats…Family. Not so bad here in the PNW. Sending good thoughts and have a couple of complimentary White Chocolate Mochas for ya. 🙏✌️
I am a boat broker and I have owned a charter company in the Caribbean - facts - most people that buy boats are going through some sort of emotional crisis or have psychological problems - of course you guys are the exception to the rule😶
So glad you made it back safely! ✈️ On to the next adventure! Sorry the boat shopping fizzled out in Oz but here’s to new keels and new deals here at home! 🥂 And a big thank you to Dr. FUNNY BONE 😂 for taking such great care of Miss Megan! Happy trails to all! 😊
I don't know if this can impact skin cancer, but in case you guys aren't aware... Certain skin lotions have vitamins in them. Apparently there are studies that show that skin lotions with vitamins have some effect on reducing stuff like wrinkles. At least that is what they just said on Swedish Public Service Radio. But they also said that vitamins from these skin lotions can enter into the body through the skin and accumulate inside of certain organs in the body. That is if there is already 100% of the amount of what your body can handle with regards to a fat soluble(?) vitamin like vitamin A or D... So... If you're already getting all the vitamin D you need from sun exposure, eating healthy and getting everything else you need that way through food, plus actually taking that completely unnecessary AG1 stuff that you guys are plugging and then also getting vitamin A and/or D through skin lotions, then maybe you're getting too much vitamin A and/or D... I'm not an M.D... But maybe you should consult with one so you're not getting too much vitamins that somehow can induce skin cancer...
Living on the boat right now with little wifi to watch videos, but I send my wishes for a quick and effective treatment so you can return to the life we love. Currently in Martinique to rebuild our watermaker S/Y L’Acadienne
I was stage three melanoma 27 tumors ranging from the size of a golf ball to a pencil head. I was diagnosed in 04 still live in and Fighting just had my prostate removed due to cancer !
Hi guys. Sorry to hear you had another BCC but glad you were in Oz to have easily and rapidly treated. Just one point - you said it was “benign” which is the term for non cancer. While BCCs are the least nasty cancers cause they only spread locally (and not metastasise) untreated the destroy anything so can be nasty… I presume this was just loose use of a medical term as clearly you know it is a cancer… That may confuse some of you viewers and think their bccs are not cancer but hope it slipped by without being noticed! Clearly keep up regularly checks on each other to monitor your skin spots monthly and annual checks with a skin doctor is good…. We sailors are all at risk and early detection is the key- well spotted!
My favourite people in the boating world. Never a bad episode as they are excellent producers. Best of luck on the hunt for your next home on the water. X
Potential remedy to prevent skin cancers from forming: Eat once a day(23 hours), plus another 48 hour fast once a week, plus a 96 hour fast once a month. There is nothing quite like "Autophagy" to consume damaged cells. . Note: I'm a truck driver, so you can trust my advice.😄
Glad it was only basel cell. Looks a lot better. Here’s some food for thought, being an armchair nutritionist. I’m 57 and don’t want skin cancer. I take collagen supplements, eat foods with quality vit C (not ascorbic acid or pasteurized oj) absolutely no seed oils, only quality real fats, and vit E. Been taking high quality annnato Vit E tocotrienal you can get from Amazon. So far I don’t even get Sunburn.
Best Wishes for a full recovery. y father was a real Sun Worshipper, I saw two Scottish guys get burned so badly after falling asleep on a Spanish Veach they were both hospitalised, so I have been very careful ever since. Dad got skin Cancer on the top of his head, and to combat the itching, a Nurse in the Care Home he was in, applied Sudacrem to it, I think Daily, and the Sudacrem didnt just stop the itching, it Shrank the Cancer, almost to the point of it disappearing. Unfortunately dad had Vascular Dementia (pretty sure caused by the Statins he had been prescribed Ed which also gave him type 2 diabetes along with severe muscle damage), and passed away before he was 100% clear of the skin Cancer, though it was still heading in the right direction. Very best wishes and Fair Winds. Bob. 👍⛵️✨️✨️✨️
I'm going to share this but I'll try be brief, if anyone wants more details just ask away. 2 family members have had various cancers, one chemo & radiation but both were having no treaments when they took a mixture of bi carb soda (baking soda in the USA) and honey. The theory being cancer loves sugar, but bi carb soda kills it. There is no downside to this treatment, and I personally witnessed it work not once but multiple times. 'Work' meaning either the cancer disappeared completely (breast) or stopped growing (referred to by Dr as particularly agreesive form of bowel cancer) and again with pancreatic. 6 months to live became 6 years in one case. I'm not sure how many types it 'works' for, or it might be person specific but its 100% worth trying as the risk is zero. Mix on a low heat 2 parts (we used tablespoons) honey to 1 part bi carb soda until they dissolve together. Take a teaspoon morning and night for 2 weeks, have 2 weeks break, repeat and repeat once more. We used manuka honey, which is the ideal type but thats not mandatory, any honey will do. The cancer cell sucks in the honey not knowing its also sucking in what will hopefully kill it. This saved surgery, stopped a rapid growing cancer in its tracks, and greatly slowed the growth of another, on each occasion the Dr's (either surgeons or cancer experts) had no explanation at all.
OMG kids! Enough already with so many issues in your life! Nice people like you really should be enjoying every moment until you can’t! Hoping you have better luck in your boat search. I will be keeping my fingers crossed!
Never found a used boat to purchase in less than a year. The catamaran I have now took 28 months to find. Hate traveling so somebody else will view the boat prior to my seeing it. Don't like video... conversation over. You are dumb as a box of rocks... conversation over. My previous boat sold months before finding the next one to purchase. Being boatless sucks. You buy a boat that is a right fit for what you want. You sell your boat to somebody that it's the right fit for them. The processes should be just as simple as that. When I'm selling I will insist you do your due diligence before we set the purchase price. We will agree to a price before going further. I will have a refundable deposit and signed contract with an "acceptance of vessel clause" with regard to a successful sea-trial in my hands. I guarantee the boat is sail ready. Don't smug the buff and glossy finish. We drink after the sea-trial. Call me if you have any questions. Enjoy your boat, Buddy.
Tough spot but you’ll get through this!! Attitude is key - hopefully the excision will be the end of it. I’ve been there (here) I’d rather live like Swiss cheese than die in tact! Btw don’t forget the other end!! AND Get poked, prodded, and scoped - the ass save may be your own
I'm putting this here rather than the newer video, but Megan, La Roche Posay's Anthelios Mineral 50 Sunscreen is really good. My dad had skin cancer on his face, and he switched to LRP products. I use it too. It's super light, tinted, so you don't need to wear anything else on your skin. Big hug.
Organic Castor Oil on the skin and be amazed by the results. Much love to you both. Note: the Sun us not the issue. If it was, people living is hot countries would all have skin cancer. We need the sun. They are less protected thabj Love ❤ you both!
Boats, I think because I don't know, might be like guitars. People want to sell guitars right up until the point where you will buy them. Then, not so much. What is up with that? Glad you caught that cancer so quick. What you're going Meg is the right thing. Keep doing that.
If you turn back to checking out boats take a look at the SA Ocean Renegade range R5 and 6 .. there’s a Hybrid called Oxygen out there as well . Fingers crossed for dealing with the health problem … boost your bit D levels to help fight it but without more exposure to the strong sun ❤
I have been following you guys since last fall. You are a lovely couple. I know you are frustrated at not being able to find the boat you want, but there are certain advantages to living on land. I mention just two. Relief from the responsibilities of ownership. No more boat chores! Then, there is the opportunity to travel swiftly and in comfort. An airplane is 100 times faster than a sailboat. Years from now, you will look back on these months as a pause.
Sisters of the Mohs surgery! I have a boat for you, I don't know if I want to sell it or not, yes, I do....No, maybe...what the hell, I will sell it....ahhh...no.
Glad all went well, having lived a life of sailing and boating, now in my 60’s, the skin cancer is a real issue. My wife and I have been there and done that and now get regular 6 month checks. Still boating but always wear spf 30 and cover up now.
When I had my cancer removed on my left side of my face. The surgeon said there’s good, the good news is when facing my left side I’ll look ten years younger. A real joker during surgery lol. Yes he was joking. I look the same 😘
Lost my father and nephew to cancer years ago. Cancer has exploded in my area, I am sure the clot shot has nothing to do with it.😂😂. Why would big pharma want to cure cancer when they can heard us in like cattle for treatment. Glad you are well.
My family has used a weed Petty Spurge (Euphorbia peplusto) to treat skin cancer looking spots for years they always go away nobody has ever needed one cut out yet and we have treated 100's between us. We just put the milky sap that comes out of the plant when you break a steam on the spot. I would not like to use it that close to my eye though. Only this year I treated one on my cheek and one on my ear both needed two treatments skin is back to normal no sign of it left at all. It does get very painful for a few days with this orange stuff oozing out as it scabs up. It also goes very red around the area. I pick the stuff off as I am treating it so it can penetrate still. Sometimes you can see like a red vein root system working away from the spot like it is drawing it all out into the orange scabby stuff that forms. They say if it is not a cancer spot nothing will happen it will not do anything. We apply it three times a day for about five days than let it scab up after the scab has fallen off if you still have any of it left you repeat. I have never needed more than two treatments but my bother did have one he did five treatments on before it went. Growing up on the coast in Australia as a kid we permanently had bloody scabbed up noses and lips from sunburn.
What I did to get rid of my mole was mix epsom salt with water until it reached a boil which turned it into a paste and applied that over it while it was still hot covering it with a band-aid, twice a day, it was all gone after 9 weeks. It was bumpy looking with almost a black dark brownish color and was about the size of half a dime with a very hard lump underneath, I never went to the doctor but was sure it was melanoma! I also cut out sugar, alcohol and meat except for fish drinking a good litre of water a day! All the best!
As someone who is about to return to the sea and has had more than a few derm sessions from sun damage I sure get the concerns. Your strength is awesome. I’m specifically trying to outfit with that concern in mind. And oh yes, boat sellers please, just make up your mind and give me a price, not that hard
Years ago I had two basal cell carcinomas, one on my nose and one on my collar bone. I didn't have surgery. The doctor recommended Aldara cream to treat each of them. So a couple times a day I had to take a toothpick size dab and rub it into the skin. The Aldara forced the natural defences of my body to eat the cancer over the course of weeks leaving fresh skin behind.
Meg and Nik, Daily sun screen and derm visits 3 times a year helps everything. Your videos are great. Nik, your knowledge and wisdom on catamaran purchases has put another light into my upcoming 3rd cat purchase in 35 years. OMG, the interview w/young barnacles was over the top for me. I was always on the fence with open stern helms and Daggar boards ?? But since my new used cat will be on the performance side it seems I'm not totally against the Idea. Can"t wait to see what your looking at next. Speedy recovery Meg. Az / SOC
My family and I are no strangers to the horrid "C" word. We have all had it cut out and my father passed away from it in 2006. I've survived Leukeamia in 2014 so keep up your faith and enjoy life! Hope you guys find a boat soon. From Sydney Australia.
Sort the comments by "Newest first". Then you'll see that they replied to a comment yesterday or the day before. But yeah... It would be fun news if they have spent these last ~5 weeks(?) to close on a boat...
@@TheOKellys Thought your probably just enjoying a holiday from filming & editing, but had to come & check I hadn't missed one. Cya soon! (feel the love with all these concerned viewers 💕)
I know the pain. I’m a Basal and squamous magnet. (Redhead) Glad the pathology was negative (good). All we can do is slather on the spf50, keep covered, or hide from the sun. Glad you were proactive and got it taken care of.
