I saw this shape in the bright blue on the motorway yesterday and got to say it looked a lot better on person than vids and pics make it look. Think the colour really helped
Car vertical is crap,, I've got a car been registered as a taxi for the last 5 years ,registered with South lanarkshire Council (Hackney taxi licence) its a skoda and its been a taxi since it was brand new ,done a car vertical check and it came back as never been a taxi ,,, so car vertical not so good can we really trust car vertical about the rest of there checks they do ,, I've written away to them still waiting for an answer after 4 months .
I like the new RS3. The interior does look shit compared to the previous model. I personally don't believe the red / green or a rainbow 'any colour' interior would make it feel any better if the build is cheap! As adding colour doesn't change the build quality. Its like they know, since its the last 5 cylinder combustion engine, people will go ahead & buy a shit built interior car for just the pleasure of driving it, not at 60k, fuck that.
Crazy to hear this. I’ve always dreamt of having an S3. Managed to purchase a new one 2022 plate. Obviously it’s fast enough. But… The creaks from around the cabin is horrendous. I had a 2018 a3 before this and it was solid, never made a noise. Also the Bang and olufson sound system was something I regretted not specking on the A3. So when I went for the S3 it was must. Stepped out of the A3 with the audi sound system into the S3 with B&O, turned it up, door cars rattle, to the point you have to turn it down. Absolutely crazy how Audi have let this poor quality sneak in. I paid 40k for thr s3, and it rattles around like an old corsa. Once you have done a few launch controls and played around with the led lights, you realise Audi have cut too many corners with these runs. 👎
You getting a lot of creaks and rattles in your new S3? Where are they coming from out of interest? I was tempted by the new S3 but the build quality talk is putting me off. Would you say it is still a good car?
@@slen6293 it’s a lovely Car don’t get me wrong. It’s impressive and looks the part. The look of the interior is leaps above the last model. Specially the ambient light package. Although the noise of the engine is pumped in through the speakers it is done clever and sounds good. It’s just the overall quality of the build. More scratchy plastic in this then the last model. And they just creak over bumps and rough roads etc.. obviously the music being loud drops you hearing this. However, even the B&O system I have can’t be turned up to loud as it vibrates the door cars and make them rattle. It’s obviously all because the quality is lower. It’s a shame really. But if I could go back, would I buy it again? Of course I would it’s a lot of fun.
If it makes you feel better, my 2017 FL S3 had door card rattles from the B&O system as well. The little thin chrome trims are the culprit. I disassembled the door card and tightened all the screws and it fixed it. Must have been a Friday job.
@@adammorley6571 First off s3 8v had the soundaktor as well as the 8y. Both can be easily turned off using OBD 11 and the sound of it makes a rattle eventually so it's a must have to turn it off. I've sat in 8v and 8y the 8v steering wheel is not as nice as the 8y and if you get the 1000 seat option for the 8y its muchhhh better than the seats in the 8v. Sure there is plastic but the cabin is well insulated and I think people just nit pick and complain about wayyyyy too much when it comes to cars they tend to be VERYYY biased. I love that people who probably haven't even been in both cars like to make comparisons and hate on the later.
Got mine 6 weeks ago and drove 2000 kms with it. Agree with all the negative points especially the interior plastics and the noise you get in the doors when playing the music a bit too loud. Other than that, great ride.
I drive a7 the prestige package and I also have rattling in my doors so I'm thinking it's just an Audi thing it absolutely drives me nuts sometimes I constantly am asking other people if they hear it. 🙃

282lt boot space is not decent. It’s tiny! Can fit one bag and a few small items. Very nice review but not an everyday car. I had to purchase RSQ3 sportsback 530lt boot. even A45s has a 370lt boot.
I agree, the interior is a let down for an Audi RS car. Especially a £60k Audi. The saloon in green looks so much more aggressive. I'm looking for to the content you make with it.
Thanks for the review, it was actually really bloody good. You went through as many things as possible, quickly, without any bro' science or silly descriptions & big words for the sake of it. A review for simpletons like me, thanks Ben :-)) I'd have one in a heartbeat, but it does seem to lack a lot of quality for the massive price tag. Very capable, very fast, very good handling, but it just lacks soul.

Maybe Audi will fix these known issues in the later iterations of the 8Y RS3. I had a 2020 RS3 8V (USA) and the rattle would come from the sunroof; to remedy it you had to fully open the sunroof to adjust and tighten the two torx screw on the hinges but even then it would still rattle a little. I permanently fixed it by buying a brace and replacing the cheap flimsy factory brace underneath the car.
Interesting comment about the stereo. I had the upgraded B&O in my RS7, and although I wouldn’t say it was a bad stereo, I definitely felt underwhelmed by it compared to other premium car sound systems.
@@Spacemarine23 I have the Meridian Signature 1700w in my Range Rover Sport SVR and it’s a huge step up, although in fairness it’s also a huge step up in terms of cost as well compared with the comfort and sound pack as spec’d on the RS7. I also preferred the Bose system in the Nissan GTR to the B&O. I think the biggest issue I had with the B&O was specifically that the bass just doesn’t quite have enough woomph, even when cranked up to full. As I said before though it’s still a decent enough system, there are just others I’ve had which I think are better. Horses for courses, though!
Did you guys end up going for the Kyalami green? I've gone for the saloon in the green too but as standard, no vorsprung pack etc. Can't wait to go to some local car meets and hopefully bump into you guys in our matching cars! 😂
I'm still in two minds about what car to buy, my practical economic brain is telling me Golf R however I would prefer the RS3 just waying out what to do great video btw
Love some of them roads especially the Dutton road apart from a few tree roots before the dip it flows so well can’t wait to see the saloon and what you do with it.
Bang on about interior quality vs the older A3, new A3’s do t feel anything like as special. The door bins have no lining and feel like something from a Dacia. Shame. Nice video 👍😎
Modern cars & bikes are for image-obsessed mugs - German cars in particular are waaaaay too complex, over-priced & unreliable after 10 years or so. Save yourselves a heap of cash & buy a beater car instead like my 2006 Ford Fusion 1.4 with optional tow bar - owned for over 9 years - total cost (buying, servicing & all new parts inc. tyres) = approx. GBP 6000 - always starts & zero worries about it getting scratched, dented or stolen.
Not just the top end Audis. My wife has a 2019 150bhp A1 S-line and the suspension is ridiculously hard. It wasn't possible to get a more compliant set up with the S-line and the dashboard noises are a real pita. It's only got 15k on it and it still rattles like an old Mini. Main dealer didn't want to know even under warranty - too much time involved to find the problems.
I like the interior, they finally sorted out that poxy screen and also has that tidy Lamborghini style to it. What’s more important is I bet that car feels crazy to drive. How much is the new c43 amg coming out this year?

Can’t say i have been that impressed by the 8Y I still far prefer the PFL 8V, it looks better sounds better and with some simple mods goes better, ok so you can’t “drift it” but seriously who wants to pretend they are Japanese in a 70k Audi? Not that sort of car is it really
I'll give you the sounds better, but that's about it. Next to each other and the 8V looks quite dated. Also, you don't have to pretend you are Japanese and full drift to have fun.. the ability to blip the throttle on a roundabout exit or feel the back end on a twisty road is a fun factor the old one just doesn't have.
Agree with a few bits but yeah it isn’t about the drift mode it’s the driving feel that the new rear diff gives you. Never put it into drift mode if I’m honest as it’s completely unnecessary 👍🏼
@@JiMMYSURFER i don’t agree, i think design and package aren’t something you can just improve by bringing out a “new version” every 3 years If something looks good, it still looks good in 5 10 or 20 years, like the original Quattro, the original Mk1 golf Gti, and many many other cars I’d rather have a mint mk1 golf Gti than a Mk8 Gti hands down I think that there’s way to many choppers out there that only want the latest fad or the newest version of everything (but often comment when they have owned none of them 🤣) so they look like a i have and look down at the have nots, you can go on about tech this and it’s got one of these that and all the rest of it, but it doesn’t detract from the earlier cars are just as good and better in a lot of ways All down to personal preference, so, show us your 70k 8Y 👍🏻
Nice honest review. One thing though, half the downsides you mention… aren’t they all going to be present on the saloon? The comments section on this vid alone suggests it’s a model wide issue and not exclusive to the grey hatch you have currently ?
No creaks or rattles on the saloon just yet thankfully. Interior still a disappointment but I have plans for that which will make great content hopefully 👍🏼

Not sure the Saloon is better looking ha ha - they both look nice! Good looking at this one though as I have a Carbon Black on order in the same colour (to arrive probably late 2035!) - didnt go for the comfort and sound pack - kind of glad now if turning up load creates rattling in the door cards - that would p**s me off like you say considering the cost! Cant wait to get it - hey at least your stop gap car was an RS3 8Y - mine after selling my BM to afford this RS3 has been a 57 plate mini cooper! :) Good car.... in its day!
Creaks in an Audi. Not good. Would appear VAG group are doing what they did a few years ago which was to cut quality but then changed their minds and brought the quality back.
Got to see it in person I think. Everyone has said how much more aggressive it looks over the old one. Park them side by side and the 8V just looks like a normal A3. Different strokes and all that 👍🏼
