That shot at 20:01 is perfection. Look at how lined up everything is! Did you ever dream that it would be THAT perfect?? Enjoy it now, before it all moves. ;-) And the landscapers-- this is probably an opus for them. Not many people can handle a garden of this scale and scope. It would be a blessing for their company if you allowed them to have professional photos done when it's in it's glory-- one in mid to late summer and another at fall harvest. Magnificent!!

Q - Have you numbered your raised beds? Just a thought, but if you did, then you can document each of them each year to see their successes over the years. E.G. - 'Bed 1' - have a drawing and sketch out which plants were in it, did it have fabric, soil enhancer etc. You could have a file for each bed and assess as you go.

Becky, over on Cog Hill Family Farm they recently used their Harvest Right Freeze Dryer to dry sliced zucchini. Some they left plain, some they sprinkled seasoning on. When they tried them they said the seasoned ones were delicious and could easily replace potato chips as a snack. Just another option for preserving your summer squash this year. Your garden is looking awesome.

Before I forget to tell you, I was watching a European cook demo-ing various cooking hacks on YT a few days ago and he had a tremendous, easy-peasy, hack for peeling garlic. Since I recall all the angst you and family suffered during your garlic peeling party, I thought you'd want to know. It is simply, put your garlic cloves in a bowl/pot covered with cold water and let sit for 30 minutes. He showed the skins just slide off!! Peeling garlic has always been a huge pain for me too, so was thrilled to see how easy it could be.

He said that is the number one thing he tells people. They like to sell the dishwasher saying you can do all of that but in reality it is not good for the dishwasher. I was also told by a long term employee at Macy's not to put the pans in the dishwasher and also the number one thing that destroys the pans are cooking at too high a temperature.

Hi Becky! I have a few comments re the landscape fabric. I have several semi-raised beds (1 foot high, 6'x12') that were installed by the former homeowner. I've been using the fabric for 3 yrs, and like you I appreciate the fact it cuts the weeds down. We live in a very windy, grassy area so the grass, nettles and dandelion pollen is constantly flying around. I have learned that when I don't have plants growing in the burned holes, I NEED to cover the holes with something, it only takes a week or so for weeds to go nuts. The other problem I have is that I have to keep the fabric very clean. I can't even leave a small clod of dirt on top as the weeds will germinate in the dirt and grow roots down through the fabric into the soil below. I had weeds growing within a week of the snow melting on the fabric on the beds. It's a pain, yes, but imagine what it would be if I didn't have the fabric on it!!!

Your garden is absolutely gorgeous. I would love ❤️ to have a garden similar to yours. I loved my garden in CA. It had sixty-two dwarf and semi-dwarf organic fruit trees. Early, mid-season, and late producers. My three figs gave us at least two crops per tree. I had an herb area, berry, and grape 🍇 vines. I had four 8' X 4' garden boxes and a ten thousand square foot organic in ground garden. I really enjoyed it. My daughters ate from the yard and were fortunate to have a wonderful source of produce. We had food from our yard ten months out of the year. Now that we live in Central Texas, I'm starting over. The ground is limestone rock, so inground planting is not very easy. Seeing your set-up has given me more enthusiasm to go forward and grow an edible yard once again. Thank you for your videos. I totally enjoy them.

Wonderful tip….if you soak your wood skewer it won’t burn on the bbq. Love watching your channel and can’t wait for the next vid. Thank you for your inspiration. ❤

Excited to see how your veggies grow on the arches. Hopefully you won't have a spider web issue like I do. We have way too many spiders in our yard that I have to use a stick when I walk around my garden...😂. God luck!

Next time you do wood skewers you should soak them for a few hours so thay don't burn on the bbq or leave wood splinters in the food. I learned that trick from a local bbq restaurant.

I looked up Wikipedia for definition of this. Short version is “ Suya or tsire is traditional smoked spiced meat skewer which originates in Hausa Land, Northern Nigeria, and is a popular food item across West Africa. Suya (also pronounced Soya) is a large part of Hausa culture and food and is traditionally prepared and made by Hausa men, thus called 'Mai nama' (not women).”. Peanuts or what they refer as ground nuts is a big crop raised in this area and used in local foods. Having lived there for a few years our family learned to incorporate peanut butter in many dishes like groundnut stew with chicken and coconut milk. A bit of peanut butter in any beef stew enriches that dish.

Seed germination rates depend on how well you prepare your soil and then scrupulously following the directions. Look again at how you proceeded last time and maybe it will work better for you next time. Seed storage also affects germination rates.

I use a cattle panel between my beds too. I plant cucumbers on one side and buttercup squash on the other. Sometimes the squash needs a little sling for support if they get too heavy, but it works well.

Becky this is divine timing because I’ve been really inspired by African dishes lately! - I’ve been wanting to plan an African feast dinner party for my family! This looks absolutely delicious and I can’t wait to try it. I would absolutely LOVE to watch you make Jollof rice. I’ve watched so many videos, it’s definitely a process and a labour of love, but would love to see you make it! Jollof rice videos just make my mouth water lol Becky you are just cute as a button out there in your garden. Love to see you so happy. Sending you so much love!

Just as a suggestion, if you put your pile of skewers a little ways away from your product and use one skewer to pull away one skewer out of the pile, When you are all done and did not use all the skewers they are clean and you can put them away without having to throw them away because they are not contaminated. Love your videos!! 😃😀

Hi Becky, for the rice you can put a pinch of salt and oil to it, It's wonderful and not so dry yet still fluffy. You will be inundated with veggies this year, you are going to have so much to harvest, I can't wait to see that garden explode girl. Edit: I would love for you to place some solar lights on the four corners of the beds, maybe two at a time since it can be sorta expensive and string lights along the arches, can you imagine the magic in the evenings summer nights? Most of them are waterproof, some are better that others so read the reviews first.
