I like to imagine that Phil’s one life is a cost for his near immortality, while he can’t die of old age, if he dies any other way he’s gone permanently, no three lives like everyone else.
I like to think his 3 lives actually connect to his 3 kids (insert some father true love shit) he can only die if all his kids do I know sbi isent cannon and it makes no sence when ya think about it but it's fun to think about

YOOO one of my head canons is that when techno is serious, his eyes would appear to be a metalic stone grey with a mix of copper (like phils eyes in this head canon) but when he's most vulnerable and happy (ex' around Ph1lza) his eyes would soften to a smooth, heavy amber with faint streaks of gold to resemble will's eyes. I also think it would be kinda cool if technos pupils adjusted like a cat's would? idk just my head canon to add on to this lovely comment. Also I love the idea of wilbur having phils smile yesyesyes bravo 10/10
The way Techno held his hand towards Wilbur when they found him, I like to imagine that he just had a flashback to when Phil saved him and did the same to Wil while Phil is just proudly watching from behind

I hate how disgraced Wilbur’s been, sure he did bad things and domestic violence is not okay but he’s gone to therapy and has moved on you can see because he made a second channel hand he just so chill he doesn’t deserve this much hate and injustice
The falling out is so bittersweet. Techno hates the government because he's seen it turn good people into monsters, Phil realizes the same thing when he has to kill his son (Wilbur). While Tommy and Wilbur both fight for their rights to be free from the DSMP ultimately creating a government while doing so. Tommy, being a kid and immature, is too stubborn to realize and take accountability for some of his actions, making a futile hate between him and his brother (Techno). And all of them simultaneously and consistently keep getting traumatized by a green man.
I used to hate where they took Philza's character. He had been built up as a father-figure for the rest of the Sleepy Boys and when he destroyed L'Manburg I felt like that totally didn't line up with his character. But animatics like these made me realize it was entirely in line with his character. He saw Wilbur's obsession with L'Manburg drive him to terrible lengths, so much so that Phil had to kill him. Philza had to KILL HIS SON. That (rightfully) stuck with him. So he destroyed L'Manburg so that he would never have to do that again. He was doing everything in his power to make sure Tommy, Techno and Tubbo would live: even if it meant destroying everything they had to live for.
Bruh, it's a nice touch that Techno is found in the nether rather than the overworld. The gleam in his eyes when he saw the sky for the first time just makes me want to cry
In the stream where Phil met Michael, Tubbo said that because of Phils wrecklessness that he is the reason some kids get paralyzed. Phil tried to defend himself by saying "Wilbur turned out fine!" And then he immediately realized what Wilbur actually did and took it back-- So yes, this is 100% cannon.
Imagine: Phil used to sing this song to put his son, Wilbur, to sleep. Then, on Wilbur's dying moment he asked Phil to sing this song for him, saying that he wants to hear it for last time. Phil sings the song as Wilbur draws his last breathe, Phil sang him to sleep one last time.
This hurts now Rest in peace Technoblade, you will always be remembered in all communities and will always be loved, I hope your fans will never take off their Technoblade skins so that we can carry on your memory. I hope the world will never forget of what an amazing man you really were, goodbye Alex.
The ending was so sad. From how Phil and techno started antarctic empire while Tommy and Wilbur went off to start l'manburg, and then everything drifted apart. The family's broken apart. All that's left are Tommy, hating the people he grew up with and Phil and techno to reshare memories.....
Good thing SBi is non canon in DSMP because Wil does its own thing, Tommy does its own thing (both got revived btw) and the only united part of the SBI is Techno and Phil, Phil with only 1 canonical life, and who already has a ghost version of his skin if i heard correctly... the tragedy would never end
That part is based on the fanfic “Change fate by being aggressively kind” by sircantus. It’s basically where’s the three sbi are part of the prophecy that says they will end the world and they are being hunted down while they are stil children. Phill goes around and finds them and then raises them as his own children instead of killing them
I love when people put the MCC win in SBI animatics because 1: it’s always an adorable, goofy frame and I’m soft, and 2: it implies that mcc is cannon to the dream smp which is fucking hilarious

all three children were born with the gift of a hero the first died knowing his story would never be completed by him the second saw what this did to his brother and swore to never let it happen to the youngest the third just wanted his family back
I mean in the SBI family headcanon, everyone gives techno so much flak, but like government is what lost all three of Wilbur's lives, it lost two of Tommy's, it's what made Phil kill his own son (well that's not headcanon but techno and tommy and will being brothers is what I mean). Like Techno could've saved everyone, if that fateful day he'd just gone a little harder, destroyed enough that they realized rebuilding was impossible.
The most iconic team doesn't exist, but looking at the history they've built, and all the memories they've created. Has now got me thinking, and now I've started believing.
The shot of phil and techno in the antarctic empire followed imediately by the shot of wilbur and tommy in lmanburg has a really depressing subtext of like "we just wanted to be like you, but it all went wrong". Like their super innocent motive of adoring their father/older brother and wanting to be like them, contrasted starkly against the death and distruction that their actions rought and the all the pain it caused everyone is just *chef's kiss*
I like to think this part at 1:57 is Phil realizing his children are old enough for them all to have fun together and he doesn't have to worry about taking care of them, because they have grown independent. And that he is proud of who they came to be. :,]
At 1:48 i can imagine the dialogue in each of these growing up scenes and i cry. For the kids its tommy saying “i will be the strongest” wilbur says”ay put that down” techno scoffs “let him be”
I like how in the head-cannons people just make Phil have so many kids and half of the time holding a baby- poor Phil has to put up with enough kids already

In my opinion, I believe it actually humanizes him (not literally as he's a pig) and more understandable. The SBI animatics always show that they're a family that stuck together through all the heartbreak and pain but it ended bad in the end anyway.

@@loren2735 "sleepy boys inc" it's the group phil, wilbur and techno formed after they all tweeted the same tweet about being sleepy or smt and fans decided to make that their group name then they added tommy as a official member after a mcc. Tubbo is an addition and not an official member yet
I like how simple will and tommy are in their designs, but everyone who tries to be accurate has to go through the pain of the overdesigned mess that’s phil and techno.
In my mind, I see Philza as the last one of his kind, a protector of many, who saw himself in a lone boy, the survivor of his nether village, Techno. Feeling this connection, he took him as his own and the boy decided to follow on his father's footsteps, reaching out his hand and offering a space in the family to another boy, Wilbur (who people thinks is a fish, but in my mind he's a siren then). Along their journey, Philza adopted another child, a baby boy names Tommy, and even when he knew he would never be perfect, he will do anything for these 3 boys he calls his own. When Techno is plagued by voices of his nether origins, Wilbur calmed him down with his wonderful songs. Tommy strives to be like his brothers and somehow entangles a young Tubbo in his adventures. They did everything together as a family, from winning MCC to making their own country. The Antarctic Empire by Techno and Philza, while Wilbur followed in their footsteps with Tommy as they established L'Manberg. However, not all stories end with a happy ending. Wilbur slowly falls into madness and Tommy watches in horror as his brother & mentor went into a downward spiral. Philza, the one who raised them, the one who protected them, the one who gave them the world, had to do what Wilbur wanted him to, to let his happy child fall into an eternal sleep by his hands. Edit: So I just read the story this was based on... My mind works in mysterious ways..
That cut of Philza and Wilbur just before the end, is so good. It's such an amazing way to show Wilbur's death without any gore or bloodshed. This is amazing
Since Techno said he wasn’t their brother in the Dream SMP cannon, I kinda like to think Techno was around 16 when Phil mentored him, and Will was really young at the time, so by the time Will would even start to bond with him Techno left on his own journey,but came to help him because he knows Will and was Phil’s son

Techno could be immortal (theory) because if everything before dream smp is canon in a way techno has existed for a long time and since he's a follower the blood god may bless him with eternal life or something of that sort.
@@freebacon9917 In my headcannon the old blood god settled down (similar to what techno tried to do before the butcher army came) and bestowed the title to the best warrior he knew by giving him the voices.

Whenever I watch SBI lore like this I always remember how will and techno already grew up, they are adults now, this all happened to Tommy and he’s only 16, not even an adult, like damn at least tech and will get a childhood in these 😭
the SBI family dynamic feels like a good book or series that you never want to end. With all the fantastic art made, I sometimes forget that these are just 4 Minecraft youtubers who found solace in one another’s company. I mean with all the all the lore and animatics, its enough to make a show about them in Netflix. And if they did, I’d totally renew my subscription.

good brother-bur moment is even cuter when you think about how tubbo and niki(?) showed techno this underground music box, and when tubbo played him a unique song techno was like "I'm vibin! it makes me almost want to stop murdering people!"
I love that at 1:29 the first thing Wilbur did when he saw techno struggling with the voices was to provide a distraction, so he grabbed his guitar. Sorry I just really really like that lol

One thing I noticed at the end is that Phil is wearing a very similar cloak to the one he wore when the Antarctic Empire began almost like he’s trying to keep himself in the past when Wilbur wasn’t dead and when life was fun.
Technoblade: the possessed child who's family is trying to help. Wilbur: that groovy 1980s kid Tommy: the one who always has something to say Phil: the caring and goofy dad who never knows what do do but does it right

I like the idea that Philza and a few others (Wilbur included, considering a few lines i've heard him say canonically in the QSMP) Are aware of changing worlds, and that it's an almost gutwrenching experience where all of the knowledge of your life is yanked away leaving something strange in it's place... Only to have peace again hearing familiar voices. I think that Phil, unlike a lot of people who just try to forget and move on, tries to remember, he searches books and stories searching for old memories... and finds them. That's why he remembers the Antarctic Empire, and why the Potato War is a time in Technoblade's legacy he remembers fondly. PHilza remembers. and Wilbur is beginning to, especially remembering Quackity as an old enemy (this is a lot of QSMP stuff, GO WATCH IT)

Yeah unfortunately it didn't get written into the lore when techno first joined the dream smp and so it didn't make sense for his character by the time Phil joined 😭

This song and story fit so well together. Although nobody asked I’ll still try to make a analysis. The first verse perfectly encapsulates the future point. Saying, “I used to hear a simple song. That was until you came along.” Showing that long ago Phil used to live a simple life. But with Tommy, Techno, and Wilbur that once monotone life became one of color and happiness. The first instrumental being a foundation for the second verse. Showing the past into their journey. The burry long ago memories. (I’m sure that’s why the colors and drawings are less refined.) The second, presenting his journey. His simple life to his one of joy. With the line, “With simple songs, I wanted more.,” showcasing it. “Perfection is so quick to bore,” this line exhibits their journey together. Although they could live a peaceful life they decided to travel. Experiencing difficulties, and other problematic situations. “You are my beautiful, by far.” Was the line Phil realized that he truly enjoyed their company. Their time of true peace. “Our flaws are who we really are.” This further elaborating their connection with each other. Techno being the introverted teddy bear, Will being the sly jokester, and the put simply the child, Tommy. The second instrumental bridge, not needing of any words. With the imagery you can feel the worry behind Will as he watched Techno being ill and Will’s caring nature as he goes to play a song for him. To Tommy’s curious nature. One of impatience and need. Tubbo’s interest in Tommy yet confusion. Then conveying into one of neutrality and admiration. Then the slow suspenseful climb to the climax being Phil’s perspective of not being able to wait to see what they become. The third verse the repeat of the first, “I used to hear a simple song.” Showing they finally made it to their glory days. The days that seem to last forever. “That was until you came along. You took my broken melody. And now, I hear a symphony.” Still signifying Phil’s proudness towards them of being able to do their own things. The third instrumental bridge, once again in need of no words. As soon as it being the contradicting vocals in major and violin in minor. Signifying the end of their glory days at least the lingering days. With the climax of emotions seeing Will once more feeling the warmth in his arms. With the quick realization of his actions with the abrupt ending and color change signified the ending of their glory days. The end of the happiness. The last two lines, “And now, I hear. A symphony.” Showing his reconciliation with himself. The thought of the past. They taught him how to laugh, but now nothing more than a memory. Add anything you’d like to the comments.
