You really said we feeding the gays today huh 😭 I figured this would've been right up your alley. I don't really blame Victor for trying to make things work with Mia in these episodes honestly. It's more him exploring his feelings and figuring out what they mean than leading her on at this point. He genuinely feels a connection to her and just doesn't know what that means yet, so he mistakes it for love/attraction. It does suck for Mia though, she deserves so much better (*cough* Pilar *cough*), she's so pure 😭 As for it appearing a bit cartoony, it was still shot under the pretense of airing on Disney+, so they had to write it accordingly. A second season hasn't been ordered yet, but they did commision a writers room for a second season and the showrunners said that airing on Hulu has opened a lot more doors for them than previously. They wanted the characters to cuss more and talk about sex, like actual teenagers do, but that wasn't allowed before. Their goal now is to turn it into a Boy Meets World kind of show where the audience grows up with the characters over multiple seasons and they get to tackle more mature themes as the series progresses.

Thoughts on the show based only on what I saw in this reaction; I do think it'd be an interesting take to have him explore his potential pansexual identity, however the way they do it hasn't yet felt like it's very gripping. Like, a twist or major event doesn't seem like it's being set up, though it could well be, I just don't feel it. Seems like everything' hunky-dory and he's found out something about himself and it's working out for all parties involved. Especially with that ending where it's shown that the guy has a boyfriend? Like, that settles that, I guess. The ship with Mia can sail unhindered.

Honestly I have mixed opinions on this show because I feel like the show was really predictable yet really good for young lgbtq+ people
