After watching you comeplete that trek I said to myself, "Don't even THINK of doing that!" But You should be proud of completing such an arduous task! MAJOR PROPS!
I have another coming very soon... it will be more a look from a campsite however not as challenging...lol.. but i do have some individual q&a videos which will be more focused
I wish I could hike like that too but with my heart condition thats a big fat no 4 me, but long time ago it would of been possible. Thank u 4 showing me, its huge.
This was a while back. I likely could not do this again at this point. After getting along Covid, my long Art fight with they used to be so altitude is even more aggressive whenever I get to it so hiking things like this are much harder.
It was definitely tough… This is whenever I was in better shape and it was still very difficult because of the altitude adjustment, but I could definitely say I had my Rocky moment on the top of the mountain, lol even if it was less energetic version of it, lol
Beautiful views 👍. I understand what you went through. I live in Florida and when we go hiking in the mountains it's not easy because of the altitude. Even my kids who are in sports have a hard time because of the altitude and lower oxygen than we are use to.
In 8 years of living half time in Colorado Springs I never did that. I lived and and wished but just couldn’t make myself do it. Have you ever gone to the castle there in Colorado Springs and had tea. It is beautiful and the grounds are filled with mountain goats and wild turkey and deer. They come within 6 foot of you. My daughter took me there for my 70th birthday. It is not very far at all from garden of the Gods… it adjoins it! Keep showing little very places, I really enjoy how you explain and tell everything about where you are visiting at. You are a great speaker.
Oh my goodness, nope, nope, my hips wouldn't like me at all, even the new ones give me a jab now and then going up & down to many times on the stairs in my own house!! And I definitely use the handrail for sure!! But you did it and it's off the bucket list!! Great job!!
I was certainly sore the next day but made it so worth it to do something this challenging... before i did it i was on the stairmaster a lot in texas...lol
Hurray for accomplishing that! When I was in my 20s, I did a LOT of walking in both Germany and France: around lakes and castles and all over Paris up and down stairs and hills. I should have kept it up; I would be in better shape today. I am proud of you for pushing your limits just that bit. You are an excellent example to all of us!
I was so happy to have done this when I could and to be able to share it so others can see it if they are interested or if they do not think they can is awesome!!
Thank you so much!!! I love sharing all the adventures and how I make them happen so I have so many great things coming as I prepare to hit the road once again but also take a few interesting smaller adventure trips.
There you go, gurl! Now this is my kind of vlog! Take me to places I've never been and get me all pumped to try it myself. Wish I had a friend like you to join me on these kinds of adventures. How long did it take you to climb it? That would have been an all-day thing for me, probably with a lot of snack breaks!
I enjoy stretching my abilities and challenging myself but don't hike as much now because of my lungs with long covid.. so my hikes are shorter but the world is so epic to explore.. so i try in all ways to do crazy fun new things!
lol.... right.... i knew going into this it would be a challenge so i worked out hard before going on the step mill thinking i would be ready.. nothing prepares you for this with the altitude until you are there
Love your camo shirt. One question about that hike after seeing it. WHY? You should have taken Gatoraid not just water...when you got back to the privacy of your car..how long did you cry?
on longer hikes like these i prefer liquid iv which is in my water already vs gatorade which adds sugars or additives which don't seem to work as well for me
I went with some buddies who are firefighters and did this. Apparently they do it every year for the 911 firefighters in full gear so they wanted to go and do it without the gear to see what it was like. That was tough.
Not to take anything away from you, I wouldn’t even attempt this climb, but think of the people who built it and had to climb every day to where they left off the previous day, hauling tools and hardware, not to mention the wood. Maybe they camped next to the stairs as they built. That would be my choice. I climbed Mt Washington when I was young but it was nothing like that staircase!
So it is pretty interesting to know they do this annually but also that many of the military in the area as well as olympians use this for regular conditioning.... super wild to think of the next level of their abilities to do this regularly
Clearly, you have never been to most of Colorado. Lol most of the places that I have gone or lush forest absolutely beautiful and we tons of free flowing water from snow melt I’m sorry that your experiences have been in the dry portions of the state.
