Part one of the course is really informative especially if you're starting from ground zero, with a text book recommendation and the way it's laid out it, the course already seems like Andrew is rolling out his course with a "college" or "school" approach which if I were to judge by how much his youtube videos have helped me go from nothing to comfortably recording myself and others in my basement this has potential to give you the same if not better education for far less money (like most things it also depends how much you put into it) Pretty sure Andrew and I are the same age but I can truly call him a hero for his approach to recording and how he presents it on youtube. I've played in a lot of bands, played drums on a fair amount of sessions in both home and commercial studios, but never took the time to learn how to record myself out of pure fear of the technology (I'm the furthest thing from a computer person) but literally in the span of about six months it is safe to say I'm obsessed with recording more than I ever was with drumming and this channel was the catalyst to it all. Still early in my recording journey at 31 but this has already presented me with more opportunity and overall fun than I ever imagined. So buy the course, subscribe to the youtube channel, smah the like button for the algorithm and I hope everyone gets as much out of this as I have and will continue to do.

way to go on how to treat an assistant! It's a really important role and lot's of pressure! I was an assistant in a few studios and I had one studio owner who was a complete nightmare on me. I'm talking hard emotional distress, burnouts etc. So congrats Andrew for treating him as a human being first! He's learning and not supposed to know everything on the first day. Cheers from Brazil!

I use same pedal board for bass and guitar like you, but use the Boss LS-2 Line Selector at the end. it will save you unplugging and plugging in to different amps.

Fun video, and informative as well. The tone and sound of your drums was fantastic - you must have worked hard on mike placement, tone, and overall setup a lot in your studio to get it so clean and crisp and punchy. Well done. More importantly you do it with talent (both as an artist and as a recording engineer), not with U47s, C12s, and fancy high $$ outboard gear (I think). Great stuff. Thanks.

Hello! Wife, here. Lol to keep glucose spikes lower, I use either organic pure monk fruit extract OR organic stevia. I blend coconut meat with flax and chia and stir that in as well to help digestion slow down a little bit as it processes the natural sugars. But yes I often mix up the fruits inside the oatmeal - always a frozen fruit of some kind and always topped off with something like peach, banana or apples.

No need for any hardware as an engineer and as a musician no need for anything other than the instrument you're playing. But that doesn't sell needless hardware thought does it. Youngsters don't believe the hype, get a dope computer and decent mics and interface and you're good

If the conversation is what's the absolute bare minimum you need to technically complete the process. I agree with you. Unless of course you're running a recording studio as a professional business and working with multiple clients in and out of the studio each day and you want to separate yourself from some guy with an interface and some mics. Technical and personal skills are going to be what lead to a long and successful career. But that doesn't mean using a variety of nice gear to get the best possible sound at the source is wrong. I'm an audio engineer and really putting work into the sound captured on the front end is the only part that is my passion. Every decision and part of the signal path adds color and shape to the sound, as well as affecting the performance.
