I’m so impressed with how much content you’re pumping out. And it’s great content with great projects. Be careful not to burn your magnificent self out.
It turned out so good! Huge props to the pattern maker, not a easy pattern to make and as fast as you said she did? wow! It would take me daaaays to figure out the pattern, and days to figure out how to properly sew it together as well 😅 Wonderful work, Jenna! Congrats!
I agree with top stitching straps. Much easier than turning right side out. I’ve learned most of my sewing from making Halloween costumes. The outfit is adorable! I’d heard it was a challenge finding pink gignam?
The pattern maker... genius idea. When you follow good instructions, along with your abilities, it turns out great. It's beautiful. Shouldn't be too hard for you to make the hat; completing the outfit/costume. Everone's going as a version of Barbie, this year. You look amazing.
I remember doing projects that spread out over several days. My back would hurt, fatigue, and frustration meltdowns occurred. I learned to stop, rest, and do a fresh restart to finish. I loved your Barbie Halloween costume.
I think it was the cutest costume in the film (yes, more than the cowgirl costume) and you did a great job recreating it. The light pink gingham looks great on you.
Jenna thank you so much for sharing your awesome personality with us all. You keep us giggling with how you cope with your mistakes. It makes us feel ok with our errors. Your barbie costume is incredible. You are so talented. Lovely to know where we can buy patterns to fit us
I love your sense of humor, Jenna!! Using the interfacing on the stretch fabric is a brilliant idea.... It turned out so beautifully!!! Way to go--it looks so professional😄😄😄 Thanks for a fun and informative video, once again!
I just love your energy, those little happy dances should be bottled " Happy Dance Air". Directions.... One sniff will have you dancing like me, Jenna Phipps.... I love seeing your name appear in my notifications. You absolutely nailed it with this creation. I must admit, you make me laugh when you say it's your best item ever, cos' you say it after every item, lol. You make a very beautiful Barbie. Blessings from Australia 🌻💛🌻.
Barbie-Jenna , who knew. The pattern worked great, love how you adjusted your problems as the came up when putting it all together. It looks FANTASTIC, 🎉. 🥰
You did a great job! You look fabulous!! I grew up with Barbie as my main toy in the 70s. I had the original Dream House. (Had to share it with my little sister who had Skipper.) I never even thought of being her!!! I should have been! I used to sew my costumes through high school and college. None of my friends ever did. (I worked at Joann fabrics while in college). I made a Cookie Monster costume one year for me and my then boyfriend was a teddy bear. The tail was in the prefect spot. When he walked it moved back and forth. 🤣 I was hot as heck in that Cookie Monster head! I saved the bear suit. we got married and had a kid. I made him a baby bear costume when he was 6 months old and I was mama bear. I went to my parents house on Halloween and sat him on the front porch in his car seat. Kids walked up and laughed and parents were like “aaaaaw”. The weather was perfect. He had a brown sweatsuit on underneath and I dyed a white hat and mittens brown and made a fur hat and mitten covers and little fur booties over his socks. He loved it. He loved being around people (he and I were in Walmart A LOT shopping when he was a baby and he was so cute that people always stopped to talk to him. He had the best little smile and giggle. He’s 29 now). We were Dalmatians one year. I made a pink power ranger costume for myself the year he was in kindergarten. He was the black ranger. I wore it to the school parade. I was the awesome-ist dressed parent there. (My dad said so! Lol). My daughter and I were power puff girls one year. I was wonder woman one year and froze my butt off while out with my daughter. One year I paid to have a costume made overseas by a cosplay company. I was Aurora (black panther’s wife) in 2011. (The costume even had a crotch zipper so you didn’t have to take the entire thing off to pee. 😂 Best costume EVER!)
For some reason, that style reminded me of the little toddler girl outfits. You have when you're like, 1 to 3 years old. If the butt had ruffles it would all be over. So cute! It's very cute and you did a great job, and you had some challenges.
tip for making straps! get a bias tape maker - they are these neat little metal thingies that u pull a strip of fabric through, it folds the sides of a strip, and u iron it as it comes out, then u can use it as bias tape or u can fold it once and iron it and u get a strap. it saves so much time, and they come in different sizes too and are pretty cheap
Wow Jenna! Your Barbie dress is pretty awesome and you make a really great Barbie! I love to watch all your videos to see all your creative ideas and this one was really fun to watch come together!
Yeehaw Jenna! You knocked it outta the park with this one! It looks amazing! If I had the pattern I would make my daughter in law one! Lo e the heart cut out in back. Pretty in pink!
That is just the cutest thing I've ever seen, Barbie, I mean Jenna.....lol! Really, you just outdid yourself, again. I looks adorable on you, you'll be the Queen of the Halloween Ball.
This is beyond impressive Jenna❣️ I’m a crafty maker of lots of things so I appreciate something that looks handmade but damn girl this looks so professional and downright gorgeous❣️💞
That came out absolutely adorable!! You are so talented. I'm not gonna lie, I was hoping you would go thrifting get a hat that you'd cover in the same fabric to complete the look. Either way, I hope you're going to a party because you'll have the best costume for sure.
Ann Behney...Your dress is gorgeous and looks excellent on you. I'm amazed how your projects are always so much work. You are a hard worker. I sew myself so I know what goes on to make stuff and would like to see your outtakes of screaming and cursing.
You're killin it, girlypop! If you feel like you're burning at both ends, take some time off and rejuvenate ❤ Your clickthrough rate is excellent and I only forsee your subscriber count increasing. You could totally take a couple weeks off if you need it. Anywhosie, thanks again and great work!
I was just discussing interfacing maybe a day or two ago. I can never find any but I need it so I’m going to have to get it from the internet.. my Aunt’s pro tip on sewing zippers is to sew it in zipped. I’m not to the reveal yet but I know I’m going to love it even though I’m not a Barbie kinda girl, I’m here for you Jenna 💞
OMG it’s Sew Good!!!! The scalloped edge, the heart cut out, the bows 🎀🎀 I love it!! And I love your Bert-o-lantern! I hope you make him an Ernie too 🎷💛
Amazing! Looks so good on you. You and the pattern maker did a great job. Are you going to make the hat? You're going to win Halloween with this costume.❤
now, that I keep seeing the dress in the back, what if you make a project of adding flowers to it? So you could make very large falling sleeves and a long tail 😅
You hit it outta the park Jenna! I was told that my Gr8t G’ma could just look at a garment in a store window, and go home and make it w/o a pattern 👀 That’s one skill that I definitely did not inherit, and thus have mad respect for those that can sew this well, w/o any instructions! You’re probably the right age (also young, adorable & funny like our son was 💜might I just mention), to be a grandchild of mine 🤔…..not meant to be creepy lol😬 Just saying that I would be honored to have such an intelligent, resourceful, creative and appreciative of looking at the humorous side of life, lovely young lady as you as a family member!!! You da bomb, to use the parlance of our times’! Grateful for you and your super duper channel 💕🙏✨
Jenna amazingly beautiful!! Great job! It gives the impression with the open back of an apron. It’s so pretty that I would wear it other then a Halloween custom. You look like a Jenna Barbie😍 are you going to make the hat?
The way you did the straps is my preferred way to do straps. If you have a good sewing book like Vogue or Readers Digest one it should have the sewing order for all sorts of garments. That skort is so cute, I would sew a it for summer in another fabric.
