Last time I was up in AK I caught a 45lb king on the Kenai while floating for rainbows and dolleys. It was quite the fight on 15lb test but got her to the bank for a few quick pictures and it swam off into a deep pool to rest. Still my favorite fish to date. Love the alaskan videos keep it up!

I've made that run downstream many times on Michigan's Pere Marquette river. A fun and challenging fish.

I used to guide on the Kasilof. Such a great river. End of July was always my favorite.

We fished for trout in the streams that went into the glacier fed river. Lots of skeeter spray needed but of course I did not bring any. The river I lived on got split in two by a huge earthquake. On side went all the way into the mountains and was fed by a glacier and was was colored could even see your hand in the water. The other river was entirely spring fed and clear all the way up. It was probably five miles long only and the area where all the salmon spawned and died was off limits to fishing too many bears to bother.

Hey, I just got to Alaska(anchorage) and tomorrow I’m going down to sterling (right on the kenai) to do some fishing, you said the waters are like 2 weeks behind, so what do you think will be running?

I thought they shut the King salmon down for rivers on the Kenai.

I lived in Alaska for the past 14 years I fish the Kenai river on a regular basis I have caught several kings but I could float that river and never catch a fish it’s the most incredible river on the planet earth

The reds are not doing well in Seward they were there Sunday and Monday night then poof gone. The betters r out think if the commercial guys don’t go out fri Saturday fish will return by Sunday again. I got lucky went Monday and got x12 with proxy. It’s bad everywhere bro
