I would advise this young girl Anita to get English teaching qualification so when sho goes to China she'll teach English for the village and also in process she'll learn Chinese language quicker by mixing Chinese people in the village. Sorry, it doesn't work this way in China. We have laws and rules just like any other country. She'll need a work permit and the laws have changed regarding teaching ESL. I'm afraid she won't qualify. Just being married to a Chinese doesn't give you the right to work.

@@rhonda5056 Sorry, but you're wrong. Their children will be bi-lingual or tri-lingual not because of the father learning his wife's language. His contribution will be Mandarin, hers will be her local language and English but that mostly depends on her. Children are like a sponge and soak up languages very quickly but only when they're exposed to it on a daily basis. Children speak a language before they go to kindergarten. Schools don't teach children their native tongue, they merely teach them proper grammar, writing, etc. From my personal experience I noticed that students who love reading are better at expressing themselves that those who don't. Or that students who have a very close relationship with their parents also are better at expressing themselves. Too bad they're often overlooked. I'm a polyglot and a language is only useful as long as you're exposed. Do I forget languages? No, but I do forget vocabulary if I don't use a certain language regularly. Being exposed to the language will trigger my memory, though. You should see my personal library. Books in a dozen different languages. It takes time and effort to maintain and build upon what I've learned. There are countless videos online where RU-vidrs learn the very basics of a language just to gather likes but it's fake as after a week or two they'll completely lose the abilily to express themselves in that particular language. Speaking and memorizing are two different things. Don't maintain a language, you lose it. Heck, if I had a dollar for everyone who claims to speak German, French, or whatever language, Id be a millionaire. I've met countless of such people and whenever I addressed them in the language they claimed to speak all they could say was a simple greeting or a couple of words, shame literally dripping from their faces. Take a look at Rose and Feliste. Their children don't speak the local language of their mother. Quite a pity but also understandable. I had a talk with my wife-to-be and we decided that she'll speak both Malagasy and French to our children while I'll use English and Mandarin. In fact, I've asked her to teach me Malagasy as well so that by the time we visit her family another language barrier bites the dust.
@@barbarasalem9278 From my experience, Africans are some of the fastest learners of Mandarin or other languages. Writing isn't as important, speaking is. It takes too long to master writing Mandarin, especially if someone is not a full-time student.
