For those that don’t know… If you were ever wondering why you’d see soo many Alakazam cards, but never any Kadabra cards, it’s cause a Magician named Uri Geller sued Nintendo & Pokémon for using his name and likeness with the card. In Japan, Kadabra is called Yungeller, (similar to the guy’s last name), and Uri was known for his spoon bending with his mind act. So he got upset and put a band on the card and that’s why you haven’t seen a Kadabra card since. Funny enough a few years ago he actually apologized for what he did and lifted the band, but Pokémon has still yet to make a card.

Always love watching gen 6 sets getting opened up- got a lot of nostalgia for them. My mum’s a school teacher, and years ago (during the gen 6 era), she’d always be bringing home random Pokémon cards, which, funnily enough, is actually the thing that got me into Pokémon in the first place! She’d also always tell me about how she’d have lots of the kids bragging about their cards to her, and she’d take photos of them to show me. They’d almost always be fake gen 5 and 6 cards, haha. But I always enjoyed looking through them, as well as the random ones she’d bring home sometimes- and over time, that turned into me wanting to collect them myself!

One of my clearest memories as a kid was selling a Base Set Unlimited Alakazam at a craft show for $36. It was one of my favorite cards but I had fallen off of Pokemon at the time. Now collecting again, I want to get one of those cards back!

When I was in kindergarten my grandma got me this dragonite ex box and in that box I pulled a mega Alakazam full art so the next day I brought it to school I was in kindergarten a kid said a certain common card was better than this alakazam he convinced me to trade it but I said no but since the bell rang for recess he took it out of my hands I still haven’t forgiven him to this day.
