What do you think about the Invictus? Obviously I love mine, but I'd like to hear other perspectives too! If you'd like to buy one, here are some links: (Note about availability: We gave the Invictus an 8/10 Availability score, since that's accurate right now, but future availability is hard to judge for this particular balisong. Interesting video. I got an invictus awhile ago and I think it feels a little loosie goosie. I love the way it looks though. I got one with a stonewash finish and black handles.
the balance is slightly handle bias but close enough to neutral that fans are flickable and also can roll (not that fast tho) like a super handle bias knife, its responsive but flows very smoothly even through my mistakes on roll overs from the handle shape and the momentum it caries, chaplins are perfect wih the spine being rouded inbetween the tang pins (thx), ladders are fast and you get good grip, ariels are consistant with the bushings... my new #1
@UltraxEmerald I prefer that, to many people are worried about play imo play helps movement and helps it swing more freely. I hate sluggish overly tight feeling balis. Every one of my best and nuttiest balis have had a little play. I'm not saying I want alot but I persoanlly prefer slightly oversized bushings. I did it to my monarch and it's the nuttiest monarch I've ever seen on the market. It feels so good also. My namis bounce way more with slightly oversized bushings. I think people would realize the feel is just better while flipping. WE worry to much how it feels when not flipping by wiggling our bali just to see if there is play or not. It's gotten a bit out of hand imo. It's why we see so many makers giving us undersized bushings because it's so hard to get an absolutely perfect bushings done. Then we have more chances of undersized coming out due to everyone being so analytical about having 0 play. Making it harder on makers imo.
1 second in and instant monarch shade, loving it Heibel deserves the recognition, the Invictus goes crazy and its hyper slept on. The review and naturally the amazing b roll really highlight just how lovely this knife is.
As an ex long-term owner of the Invictus I can confirm that this video speaks facts. It's one of the best channel Ti balis, I strongly suggest it over a CHAB in every aspect from flipping to comfort (Rounded tang pins ftw), the materials themselves are higher quality, and the square bottom handles make ladders a breeze with chamfers on the upper section of the handles to assist fanning. It's a solid bali and definitely a strong suggestion to any channel Ti enjoyers. Heibel really bloomed into this design.
The editing is amazing and this is one of my favorite balisong video ever and I really hope you keep up these amazing videos also new Brandon clone lore?
That is a beautiful Bali! I was going to buy one but I ended up getting the monarch , so that crazy you brought the monarch up in this vid lol love your stuff bro ❤
ah yes I miss the days when I would spend hours just scrolling through will's page and watching every single video twice just cause I love the content (im reminded why)
I feel like I am getting the feeling/flipping experience that people who flipped the 0G Alpha Beast when it originally came out. Not saying it's weighted like the AB just that it's a fresh take on Ti constructed balis. It's like the most agile tankish bali I've ever flipped. And I can't put it down. I said this on your other channel but I think I am enjoying the production Invictus over my custom version one atm. Probably because I feel less guilty about beating on the production model. Which I probably should have tipped about 7-10 times by now. Thing loves concrete....😅
So I actually saw your video on the review of the Hom I-Basilisk and your last one of the Invictus and I was really thinking about which to get and I ended up going with the basilisk latchless purple anodized just last week because it was just a little cheaper and Jerry apparently had just restocked and I also had never had a Hom knife and I love it!
The Invictus to me is fun and interesting but for the longest time I couldn’t figure out what my issue with it was until recently I realized that my biggest issue was how much pivot weight there is, the way it feels because of that weight is off to me making the Invictus randomly halt all momentum and it’s quiet slippery in my hands personally but that’s probably because it’s polished and another issue I have is my tang pins aren’t aligned properly it’s strange and annoying honestly
AmaZING VIDEO AGAIN GUYS, tons of work, so mad respect. This is the third time I've watched this video, and I'm getting obsessed also. You guys have made me obsessed... I want that knife, and I want it now. If this is Will's go-to knife for the last few months and ranks in the top three, maybe even second of first place, I want it. And for now I'm in a position to buy the tool. But there's just one little thing: I live in the Netherlands. 😑 Any suggestions, perhaps? Sombody?🥰
@@WillHirsch Wow an answer from the man himself. Thx Will.🐹🐼 I have an long time older friend in the states, maybe I can ask her and than let her send the knife in parts. Could be an idea. 🐱
I love Adam's finish work. The only problem with him, biegler, matt cook, gp, and im sure a few others is theyre impossible to resell for anything close to what they retail for. Vs a rep or ab or anything from MW where you could get between 75%-110% of the money back. It makes it hard to buy his stuff. Even if it looks amazing. Sad though as adam is extremely cool and his finish work is pretty much second to no one. I feel like zen pins are better than tang pins in terms of longevity.
Can you go more in depth about the point you like about the serif over the invictus and vice versa? Thanks! I felt this this was kinda glossed over in the video.
From what Will and I talked about, there wasn't ever a specific reason, and he couldn't pick because he found both of them pretty much perfect for him. The same way one might have two movies that they love to death: One isn't better than the other, and doesn't have a leg up in any category. He just loves them both, and are so unique that it's hard to compare them
As for what MY thoughts are, Will's Invictus was noticeably more handle heavy than what I normally prefer, and I prefer the softer feeling of the Serif, and overall lighter weight, which I feel keeps up with my flipping better than the Invictus did. As I prefer the sound of the Serif, and adjustable weight too. But despite being in the same price range and being made of similar materials, they are for sure very different
I got a lot of thoughts on this video, so Imma get them out of the way now. -Inhales deeply- The b-roll is amazing as always. It's been a while since I've watched you and Brandon. Speaking of Brandon, he's got my vote for prez! The balisong looks stunning, and I wish I could have experienced the flipping experience for myself at Blade Show. You're welcome for the Patreon support. I *will* excuse you. I also don't think much as it hurts my brain. Why is my face blue? Speaking of blue, love the shoes! -Exhales- Phew. I think that's everything. Tl;dr, love the video, and love you guys!
@@WillHirsch can you do a review of the maxace obsidian-S, I’m probably going to buy that in a bit because I can’t find the OG obsidian and would like to know if it’s good
The availability rating should be lower than 8/10. It's sold out and will likely stay sold out now that this video exists. Also that finish is nowhere to be seen unfortunately.
Gotta say, I love my Invictus, and my funchucks. Especially the grip mine has with the handle blackening that was done by stitch prior to me owning it. Its one of the few in my massive collection that I just keep finding myself flipping; along with the acidwrx zzyzx, which is currently my favorite, along with the madko.
I really enjoy my Invictus. Adam is such an awesome guy; he helped me out and did an ano swap for me which took my plain ti Bali into an eye catching piece of art! Great guy and a great balisong.
requesting a combo! Plz do it Im a beginner and I love your content. A behind the 8 ball, then a helix, then a y2k to a chaplin. Edit: the last part might sound confusing, I learned it from cantflipforship on his beginning combo tutorial.
I picked up an Invictus when this video came out and it has easily become my favorite knife in my whole collection so much so that I got a second one to keep nice and pretty
That wasn't scripted, I just said that randomly because it did in fact smell not bad, but in fact weird. So that would be a perfect inception for a shirt 😂
The Invictus is my favorite balisong these days. Smooth and transitions like a dream! In own the Menace and the Valor as well. Need to get my paws on the Sapient. Im definitely a Heibel fan!
I featured it in this video! Unfortunately it won my "Most Disappointing" award. Will has flipped it too and wasn't impressed ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tjxrXlhsg7A.htmlsi=mEVpYt6PAu5z9q-n
When I had Invictus #34 I really loved it but for all the wrong reasons. It was an amazingly built, tuned, and finished knife, just not my preference for flipping. I loved everything about it except the most important part... It's a preference thing though, and whoever has it now is definitely enjoying it more than I ever could.
