(Part Three) In today's video I make my way over to Epcot to enjoy a little bit of the 2024 International Food and Wine Festival. I tried several food items and I was pretty impressed with the quality this year. However, I just don't understand what Disney was thinking with CommuniCore Hall it looks worse during the festival which I show you and go on with a bit of a rant. After getting rained out I head back to the hotel room to get ready for a friends birthday party inside one of the treehouse villas! I agree 100% and don't even get me started on the encanto show. You either sit on the ground or stand in the sun. When you're 70 years old getting off the ground is not a very fun option nor is it standing in the sun while the show is going on. Why couldn't they have put this type of thing inside communicore or done it somewhere with seating

It's just straight up sad. Disney doesn't even try anymore. I know you make content for Disney, but I personally would stop spending any money there until they fix the customer experience. They need to take a huge financial hit in order for things to change for the better. Always love your vids and how you keep it real

I canceled my vacation to Disney yesterday for next week because it’s just gotten ridiculous. I’m going to spend the money on a 70” flat screen, PlayStation 5 4 new games, $300 on new clothes and a 3 day Airbnb beach getaway and will still save over a $1000 from my cancelled WDW trip

When my ex and I split 4 yrs ago, we were trying to decide how to share our DVC. I decided to give up my half of our DVC as I was starting to sour with disney about 6 yrs ago. It just wasn't making sense at that point. We had been going to WDW since 1991, with the exception of a couple of yrs, we went every yr. After 29 yrs of going to WDW, I gave up and have been doing so much more traveling for the same cost or less on some trips. I don't regret it. And my ex hasn't gone much either due to the cost beyond the DVC.

Disney spent 5 years building Communicore Hall just to have another space to push their “MERCH “. Devin, I agree with you that they could’ve done something more with that space. The Encanto show would be nice indoors instead of in the heat outside just as an example. SMH! 😔😅

Being completely honest, Disney has basically been turning the entire Walt Disney World Resort into one big DVC resort and converting everything into the DVC business model. That’s why they’re knocking down everything that is expensive and creative, and replacing it with cheap and boring and uninspiring. That’s why they’re taking away the wow factor, attention to detail, sightlines, and high standards. They don’t cater to passholders anymore, they don’t cater to visitors that come once in awhile anymore, they don’t care what anyone else thinks anymore.

Communicore Hall....School Cafeteria on one side and a Dollar General on the other side. The cheapest possible way to do it. However, WDW doesn't care because people still come and pay to get there so to Disney it's "good enough". The new mindset for Disney these days...it's good enough! EPCOT is still my favorite WDW park though...it's just so laid back and nice to walk around. I love the new music for World Celebration, but it's too bad they put that damn stage with speakers all around it that are way too loud so the music of World Celebration is always drowned out.

Communicore Hall gets a C. Absolutely corporate trade show or convention hall vibes. Not enough customization. The banners are just for the land, not the festivals. They could have had interchangeable poster frames or other decor along the walls. Too bare bones, not enough meat.

I agree with you! It seems Disney has this illusions of grandeur. During Walt’s time they believed the unbelievable and made it happen. They would knock it out of the park all most all the time. Yes sometimes they did swing and miss but that’s what dreamers do. It seems now almost all the dreams coming out of Disney is a “swing and a miss”. They try and sell all of these huge ideas for the parks but they don’t come through. They are “paying “ more and more attention on things that don’t really matter. Focus on the parks and movies that are ORIGINAL.

The entire place was designed by Anaheim people that have never been to Florida…there wasn’t even water stations built in to the building…it took months for that to happen to get even water…there’s no gutter system in the building in the hall…so at Mickey and friends (another waste of space) when it rains… it rains on everyone, cast, guests, and kinda entertainment as well.

I hate that Disney World’s facilities are designed by imagineers based in Glendale, CA who think that Orlando’s climate is the same as Anaheim’s climate. Disney needs leadership and imagineers who understand that the climate in Orlando is different than that in Anaheim. Disney World needs its own dedicated team of Imagineers, physically based in Orlando, who only work on facilities for Disney World and no other Disney park.

When they took down the walls after how many years and this is what we got? I couldnt believe it! So much more they could of done! Disney should theme CommuniCore Hall to High School Musical because it looks like a high school cafeteria. CommuniCore Hall is just another example of the plain, bland, ugly, soulless, Gensler style of modern architecture that Disney favors now for some odd reason. Both the original 1982 version of CommuniCore and Innoventions were better than CommuniCore Hall.

I have to say everyone has been hating on Disney so much lately. It's sad. I frequent both Disney and Universal for last 20 yrs and here's my opinion...Universal is every bit as expensive as Disney. And I think everyone was used to Disney being the main reason they visited the Orlando area and have such high expectations all the time. Just let Universal have it's moment. They are doing some great things, enjoy that and just focus on the fact that the competition will eventually make BOTH parks better in the long run

I was there on last Wednesday. It’s kind of embarrassing for a brand new space. I could understand if they were reusing or repurposing a closed attraction, possibly an empty building that use to be a popular attraction but to be a brand new build /attraction 😅 and this is what you got 😮 for Disney it’s just sad. Felt like a Spirit Halloween store that pops up in some vacant building every season. 😂😂😂

They just rolled in the same racks used at Target and the line poles from the local movie theater. They didn't want to do anything with the space. They didn't want to pay for upkeep of anything so they made it into a simple food and merch location. They can amortize the cost of those cast members that way.

Yes, CommuniCore Hall is a HUGE disappointment. A festival going on and no theming on the walls, hanging from the ceiling, no special lighting, nothing. Such a waste.

Also keep in mind with Future World yeah it was cool but at the same time I felt it was starting to get dated but Disney could’ve definitely improved upon the center hub. I agree that they could have done so much more with the new CommuniCore Hall. To me it's like all the other spaces in Epcot, no vibes, too modern, and lacks creativity. You're in EPCOT, not at the airport! Where is the creativity? Put Figment on a projector with him bouncing around, or have Remy cooking, heck make the inside of the space look like the Casita from Encanto to tie it in with the stage show. So much could be done with projection mapping to make the space feel more alive and less cold and wouldn't cost much compared to a complete theme. It's no different than Connections Cafe or Creations sadly....

Dev you must have been at Epcot on Friday because that storm came through and we were at the Wilderness Lodge and got stormed in at the activities area where the pool table, foozeball and ping pong tables are. It flooded a lot of the walking areas and we got soaked walking to the main building. This looks like the Friday storm that was quite severe.

Despite Communicore Hall being the letdown it is...the most offensive part of the new 'offerings' at the front of the park is the latin band that plays when the Encanto show isn't happening. The music is cool and all, but the noise pollution is insane - it completely dominates the Epcot music loop up front and you can even hear it into World Showcase. The noise pollution is just horrendous and they need to figure something else out.

EPCOT has always been my least favorite theme park in Orlando. World Showcase is OK, but the entire other half is a giant concrete walkathon. Too big, too grim, too hard-edged. It's like a Soviet-style theme park. And the latest "improvements" seem to have doubled down on those unfortunate characteristics.

Yea..I liked the area with the fountain. I just like fountains. As mentioned to tear all that out is weird. Part of the new area is like a park setting which sounded nice when I hear about it but no so much in reality. One doesn't pay that much for a park. Moana area is pretty but not sure how many times one walks through that. We let our passes expire and going back to Universal..these passes to pricey for those of us who just hit Epcot. If they bring back the after 4 passes we would jump on that. For now we'll get single tix to Epcot once every year or two.
