Homemade, not handmade. Its pretty, but stop de-valuing things that people actually make by hand please. Part of the reason for the higher price of handmade items is the time it takes someone to make them, so marketing something as 'handmade' when you made it on a machine in the fraction of the time it would take someone to hand knit it is disingenuous at best.
I crochet and just got a knitting machine. These machines are far from perfect and still requires a human eye and hand to address dropped stitches and snags and such. It's handmade.
@@mightnare3237 No, I don't think so. Especially with the yarn in this video, the second I was just passively cranking something would snag and I'd have to stop and carefully undo the snag and then keep cranking. I personally do some patterns too, which is slightly more involved. In my opinion, it's like comparing knitting to crochet. Knitters tend to look down in crochet because it is so much quicker than knitting but that doesn't make crochet any less than knitting. I feel the same about crochet vs this type of machine.
@@tqoftu1 Every machine has some things that go wrong sometimes and have to be fixed by humans. That's like saying a printed document counts as handwritten because you have to use your hands to fix the paper when it jams

Same it’s great for people who can’t afford to pay a fortune I may start and sell but my listing will say machine made with love and I would price anymore then 10 -12 pounds a machine knit hat takes 30-40 mins at most handmade takes hours
The definition of handmade is: “made by hand” this is technically made by hand. Just because there was a tool being used doesn’t mean it takes away from the quality. Like you need tools to hand knit, how would you react if someone said that “because you used a tool your creation that you worked hard on isn’t good quality anymore”? Next time you want to try and make a point like this think of the opposing side of the argument, think about how someone else could EASILY squash this idea in an instant. Please don’t hate on this woman, or anyone else for that matter. And if you try to argue with me I have more reasons where this came from so I would suggest not trying to argue.❤️
I crochet which physically can’t be replicated by a machine and have zero issue with knitting machines. It still takes a lot of skill. Things can go wrong and you’ve got to have skill to fix it, they also can’t replicate every stitch so it’s not exactly like it’s going to replace the whole craft - choose the method you enjoy/that works best for what you’re making. Keep doing what you’re doing OP. ❤ To people being pedantic: Unless you sheered your own sheep and span it into yarn by hand, would your knitting also be “homemade not handmade” or are machines allowed when it benefits you?
You can't just pretend a literal definition of a word has no meaning nor can you change that definition. This is not "handmade". You're using words like "pedantic" yet can't figure out what "handmade" means when the meaning is quite litterally in the name itself.
@@ValenciaBritt I’ve not changed the meaning at all just asking a question on where that line is. Handmade meaning not made by machine. If you don’t make your own yarn, anything you make can’t be called handmade by this black and white logic? Knitting machines like this require a lot of skill still and in my opinion a much more complex skill to grasp. In the knitting community it’s very much respected as different to an industrial machine that operates without a person for the most part. It’s similar with sewing, using a sewing machine is a tool to help create art but the artist is still in control of that machine so I would still class it as handmade. Anyways, we can all have our own opinions and I wont be dying on this weird hill. 😂
@@ramanakumari5689 hey! I don’t crochet sweaters often but if a winter one you’ll want to use an animal fibre for warmth ie wool, cashmere, etc. if a summer sweater go with lighter yarn like cotton. I’d always go with worsted yarn where you can. Hope this helps a bit!

This is very beautiful and thank you for showcasing this gorgeous yarn. I was contemplating buying it, because I was not sure whether those colours would go with any of my outfits. The end result is stunning. I think in a way the Handmade button makes sense since you were cranking the handle 🤣But if I were you, I'd change it to "Homemade with love". All in all thank you for posting your videos. Keep up the excellent work. 💕
A warning for that yarn (I have it and have made a few projects with it), it can break somewhat easily if you tend to have a tight tension. I preferred to crochet with it doubled up with some normal worsted weight yarn to give it some support. Otherwise it can get horribly tangled and/or snap. Definitely gorgeous yarn, but not the easiest to work with.
@@Izzy-cp8yt thank you for the kind advice. I’ll definitely keep that in mind. I usually crochet with a very loose tension because I like the soft, plush fabric it creates. And I use a somewhat larger crochet hook than recommended. I’ve never worked with this yarn, so I’d have to make a sample size to be sure 😊😊😊

Very pretty hats..LUV the colors. Where do you find the pretty pom poms? Or is there a trick to getting them fluffy? I bought some for a few hats but they looked wonky..😮 keep making those pretty hats.

The hat looks really nice. And for all the People debating if the hats are handmade or not, you can count them as handmade with this machine because you need to thread the yarn in by hand.
Try to make some withouth the puffy thing in the end. Maybe ppl would buy it too, personally I like them withouth the puff. Looks more classy and mature
I have this machine and love it. When making a hat of scarf, I get about 50 rows and then flip the machine over and tie off the end. Then flip back over and continue the item. It is so much easier than doing both ends and possibly losing stitches.
