I Just Made a Horrible Decision With My 1000whp Corvette. 

Honestly I'd keep the C6 a street build and build something else for the track while you're learning. An S2000 would be sweet, or a boosted Miata or something like that. The thing you have to keep in mind about tracking a car is how torn up the body will get too. You'll have massive rock chips in the front of the car and there's a good chance you'll wreck or spin out at some point and do some damage. So having a cheaper car to learn on is a much better idea in my opinion

Super stoked for you getting on the track. The RU-vid world needs it. The normal go fast stuff is getting a little been there done that. Been wanting to get into it myself so it’ll be cool to see your experience too. Would love to see the Rx-7 fully set up for it!

An older gen lancer evo would be a sick track car even an evo 10 would be nice

I know this would be a little more expensive that the other track car ideas, but I think it would be really cool to buy a lotus Elise and do a custom exige build. Wing, wheels, splitter, and add some turbos or maybe a super charger, and boom, you have the perfect track car

Going track is a huge step in the right direction, and not using the rx7 is also good. As far as c6 corvette or something else, I think I would like to see a c8 corvette for track. Love the videos, keep up the good work!

s2k would be awesome for a track build, a slept on option though is a 99-02 firebird trans am/ws6, insanely good downforce for a 90s street car, well balanced, LS powerplant with a t56, super reliable and easy to make big power.

Perfect track car! I love it…major suspension mods for that…but aside from that…you can enjoy it on a completely new level! And there is the no danger of getting arrested 👍

We've seen a lot of the C6, which is great, but I think it'd be fun if you picked up something new for the track build to bring some fresh content

the c6 z06 is an absolute monster on the track! I personally have a friend with a s2000 and a c6 z06, both fully built for the track. They're very similar on the track, front mid, double wishbone, super lightweight for the car, the c6 z06 is a larger 500hp version of a s2000 basically And don't run drilled rotors on the track, they WILL crack!! Welcome to the hobby!

I did HPDE for years, you can see some on my channel. I would recommend the S2k or a Miata to start out. Keep it mostly stock and get yourself some 200tw tires to go on it and then get some seat time.

Sell your vette and buy a c7 z06 2017-2019 with carbon ceramics from the factory, unlimited amount of upgrades and it’s a track monster 👿 run 888r’s on your vette , blew away my times with my factory cup 2’s 👍🏼🇺🇸 good luck which ever way you go 👍🏼

Personally, I think there are other platforms that would do better, but you can always run what ya brung!

I beg of you, at least take a look at the Toyota MR2 Spyder, 03-05 for the face lift. Mid engine, low, light, wide. Would be an amazing build.

As much that i want to see mcdble be a track car but i dont think the orientation of the build wasnt a track build its too nice of a build and it hurts me not seeing it not making those cool noises and i will love to see another chassis like an s2000 or a civic or a miata for the track build

Get a 350 or 370 for a track build. Good start car. Keep the vette as a street build and a 350z or 370 for a track car. Probably has one of the highest aftermarket support for any car. Just something to look into

You should consider a porsche cayman for a track car. Center engine and really good weight distribution. Relatively low point of entry some of the 05-08 era go around 20k.

An S2k would be sick

If you're trying to learn how to race on a track I would hardly get something that you consider okay to expect to get some sort of body damage as it can happen quickly without warning... With that being said I would highly suggest looking into either a S2K or even a Miata... Now the either one of those can be swapped with a LS engine and that alone will give it plenty of power to weight ratio to get all the smiles to your hearts desire. Just the Vette is way to cool of a car to beat around a track to me but that's my opinion but it's ultimately up to you.

You can get a Recked R8 and convert it to a really cool race car

Great platform to start with. Smart to drop the hp. They become difficult to manage throttle on a racetrack. Too much power makes for a harder car to learn how to corner in.

I think it was a good idea to remove the pro charger like you said for heat reasons. With all the other mods that car has it will rip on the track! my stock c6z was a lot of fun on the track, but definitely needed a brake upgrades like you have done. Hope to see you out at UMC sometime I’ll be in a boosted Miata haha

Make the c6 a all purpose build but more lean towards track…but still will be an amazing street car. I take my 68 from the track to the canyons without adjusting anything and it’s a blast, and blows exotic car guys minds with what it does. The power you will be at will be good usable power and be an absolute blast to drive with. I find myself having more fun with 450-500 hp than 800+

I'd say build a new car like a Miata first and get comfortable and fast with that then upgrade. An S2000 would also be great or a Z, but don't push to much the horse power, 500 is way to much to get good on a racetrack rapidly and you'll have more fun to red line full throttle the car then only using 1/3 of it's power xD.

Man you should definitely, most definitely use the Z06 to create an awesome track build. It would be a sick build series to watch and learn from.

Just a heads up. Some tracks have noise limits, so the vette probably might NOT pass. Edmond mondi got banned from the nurburgring in his murci because it was too loud.
